Durward O. Durnell

Services for Durward O. Durnell, 85, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Interment will follow at Huntsville Cemetery.
Mr. Durnell died Sunday at Mary Rutan Hospital in Belefontaine.
He was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Elkhart to John Franklin and Maude McCutcheon Durnell.
Mr. Durnell was retired from National Extrusion as a press operator in 1979. He also served in the Pacific in the Army in World War II.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jacqueline Ricketts Durnell, in 1968.
Mr. Durnell is survived by sons, Mike Durnell and John Durnell, both of Bellefontaine, and Lanny Durnell of Lewistown, Ohio; daughters, Tina Durnell and Rita Scherer, both of Bellefontaine, and Sue Pagnard of Franklin, Ohio; brothers, John Durnell, Calvin Durnell and Virgil Durnell; and sisters, Eula, Lois and Esther.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Tanolian Johnson

Funeral arrangements for Tanolian Johnson, 88, are pending at McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson died Saturday morning at Madison St. Joseph’s Health Center.

Linda Allene Kilgore

Services for Linda Allene Kilgore, 88, were at 2 p.m. Monday at Ricks-Bowers Chapel in Teague. Burial followed at Dew Cemetery with the Revs. Tom Grissom and Charles Jordan officiating.
Mrs. Kilgore died Sunday at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield.
She was born June 19, 1913, in Freestone County.
Mrs. Kilgore owned and operated Kilgore Trailer Park for many years in Teague. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Teague and the Leila Weaver Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aldress Kilgore.
Mrs. Kilgore is survived by sons, Charles Kilgore of Dundas, Ill., Paul Kilgore of Teague and Perry Kilgore of Elkhart; daughter, Louise Collins of Teague; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Henry Morris Harrison

Services for Henry Morris Harrison, 85, of Fairfield, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dew Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Skinner officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Capps Memorial Chapel of Fairfield.
Mr. Harrison died Monday in Fairfield.
He was born July 16, 1916, in Dew to Henry Harrison and Eva Atchley.
Mr. Harrison was a supervisor for the Texas Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Buffalo Masonic Lodge No. 554, Lions Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Past Master of Fairfield Lodge No. 103 AF&AM. He also served in the military during World War II.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Harrison.
He is survived by daughter, Shelma Waldrip of Donie; brothers, Wilbur Harrison of El Paso and James Harrison of Pasadena; sister, Deanne Ryburn of Mesquite; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

J.D. Wynne

Services J.D. Wynne, 77, of Elkhart, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Revs. Dennis Morgan and Willie Reagan officiating. Burial will follow in Myrtle Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Wynne died Sunday at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
He was born Nov. 8, 1924 in Elkhart to Clyde Newsom “Dutch” Wynne and Ida Goodson Wynne.
Mr. Wynne worked at Texas Iron Woks as a machinist and moved to Anderson County to open his own shop. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Wynne of Elkhart; daughter, Pamela Wynne Rush of Elkhart; son, Gary Wynne of Elkhart; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Semmie Rush, Michael Rush, Gary Wynne II, Donald Shaver, Randy Shaver, Virgil Simpson, and Todd Marsh.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Marsh, Harold Steadman, Joe Seckler, and J.R. Wynne.
Condolence calls will be received from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Rev. Preston Edwards Sr.

Services for the Rev. Preston Edwards Sr., 92, of Longview, will be at noon Saturday at Ward Chapel AME Church in Marshall. Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery in Marshall with Albert Moore officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mr. Preston died Tuesday in Marshall.
He was born Jan. 9, 1910, in Marshall to Frank and Sarah Maxey Edwards.
Mr. Preston received his education from the Marshall public schools. He attended The School of Practical Methods for Pastors at Wiley College in Marshall and the Theological School in Waveland, Miss. He was a retired pastor from the United Methodist Church and African Methodist Episcopal Church. He married Allie V. Nickerson Edwards in 1934.
He was preceded in death by his wife and a son.
Mr. Preston is survived by son, Preston Edwards Jr. of Longview; daughters, Dorothy Edwards of Port Arthur, Barbara V. Vance of Longview and Luvera Stevenson of Houston; brothers, Willie Edwards of Dallas and George Edwards of Oakland, Calif.; sisters, Ollie Sneed, Vereece Haywood, Norma Finley, Thelma Mitchell and Sarah Adams, all of Oakwood; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bethel AME Church in Longview. On Saturday, a viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Ward Chapel AME Church in Marshall.

Billie Joe Bain

Services for Billie Joe Bain, 71, of Fairfield, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with the Rev. Hoyt McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Shanks Cemetery in Kirvin.
Mr. Bain died Wednesday in Tyler.
He was born Oct. 6, 1930 in Freestone County to Loran Eugene Bain and Lillie Nadene Keaton.
Mr. Bain was a truck driver. He was a member of the Baptist church.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Kelley Bain; daughters, Carole Bynum of Teague and Elizabeth Haggard Snyder of Fairfield; sons, Bobby Eugene Bain, William Herbert Bain and David Bruce Bain, all of Fairfield; and sister, Lora Lee Snyder of Fairfield.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Wanda Birdow McCoy

Funeral arrangements for Wanda Birdow McCoy, 49, of Palestine, are pending at Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mrs. McCoy died Thursday in Dallas.

Alpha Tippens

Funeral arrangements for Alpha Tippens, 75, of Palestine, and formerly of Oakwood, are pending at Emanuel Funeral Home.
Mr. Tippens died Thursday in Dallas.

Patricia Ann Swinney

Services for Patricia Ann Swinney, 59, of Palestine, will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Dr. Barry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park.
Mrs. Swinney died Friday morning at her residence.
She was born March 18, 1943 in Palestine to Frank and Lilla Mae Dean Bryan.
Mrs. Swinney was an LVN and had worked as a nurse for 20 years. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Mrs. Swinney is survived by daughter, Kelli Whitaker of Palestine; son, Joe Moss of Lake Palestine; sister, Dolores Lanfear of Palestine; brother, Mike Bryan of Palestine; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Stewart Whitaker, Doyle Buckner, Mitchell Stuteville, Joel Howell, Timmy Quick and Ricky Dean. Honorary pallbearer will be Terry Tucker.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Fay Goodman Daniel

Services for Fay Daniel, 69, of Maydelle, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with the Revs. Clifford Taylor and Waymon P. Claiborne officiating. Burial will follow in Earle’s Chapel Methodist Cemetery.
Mrs. Daniel died Sunday at her home.
She was born March 27, 1933 in Paris. She was the oldest child of Edgar Ernest Goodman and Beulah Goodman Huff.
Mrs. Daniel was a member of Golden Harvest Church of God in Jacksonville. She was a member of the Parker’s Rangers Historical Club, the Anderson County Chapter of the American Red Cross, and the Cherokee County Foster Parents Association. She lived in the Jacksonville/Maydelle area for 43 years. She attended Eastfield College in Mesquite.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brothers, Troy and Roy Goodman and George Edgar “Buddy” Goodman of Dallas.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James Lavoy Daniel Sr.; sons, James Lavoy Daniel Jr. of Payson, Ariz. and Robert Cook Daniel of Maydelle; daughters, Dianna Claiborne of Jacksonville, Valerie Chancelor of Lufkin and Wanda White of Waxahachie; 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Chancelor, David White and D.J. Lindsey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anderson County Chapter of the American Red Cross or to Gold Harvest Church of God in Jacksonville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Charles Fisher

Services for Charles Edward Fisher, 60, of Elkhart, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Elkhart with the Rev. Floyd Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memories in Elkhart under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory.
Mr. Fisher died Saturday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 14, 1941 in Cabin Creek, W.V. to Charles Edward Fisher Sr. and Martha Alice Reese Fisher.
Mr. Fisher lived in Anderson County for 13 years. He attended the University of Albuquerque and Northwestern University. He was a former West Virginia State Trooper and retired with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
He was a Baptist.
Mr. Fisher taught, held seminars and preached in Baptist churches throughout Texas and Arkansas. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Fisher of Elkhart; sons, Eric Fisher, Mark Fisher and Randy Metzger, all of Elkhart, and Scott Fisher of West Virginia; daughters, Kimberly Cooper and Kristi Follett, both of Elkhart, and Dee Fisher of W.V.; and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Eric Fisher, Mark Fisher, Randy Metzger, Daniel Cooper, Robert Follett and Scott Johnson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

J.D. Wynne

Funeral arrangements for J.D. Wynne, 77, of Elkhart, are pending at Bailey & Foster.
Mr. Wynne died Sunday at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.

James Calvin Smith

Funeral arrangements for James Calvin Smith, 37, are pending at McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Smith died Saturday in Beaumont.

Blanchie Henderson

Services for Blanchie Henderson, 97, of Palestine, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Chapel with the Revs. Jay Abernathy and Allen Van Hooser officiating. Burial will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Henderson died Monday at Palestine Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 25, 1905 in Dawson to Oscar and Cassie Arnold Berry.
Mrs. Henderson was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Palestine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.M. Henderson, in 1974; and a daughter, Virginia Henderson.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by her daughters, Eloise Mullenaz and Lorene Henderson of Palestine; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Edward Holcomb, Robbie Kennedy, E.G. Scarbrough, Robert Mullenax, Charles Warren, Willie Langston and Roger Henderson.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Harold Brewer Sr.

Private services for Harold Brewer Sr., 79, of Elkhart, will be held at a later date under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory. He will be cremated.
Mr. Brewer died today at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
He as born July 25, 1923 in Michigan to Floyd and Monie Brewer.
Mr. Brewer had lived in Anderson County for 30 years. He was a retired water well driller.
He is survived by a son, Harold Brewer Jr. of Neches; brother, Floyd Brewer of Palestine; and four sisters, all of Michigan.
