Donations if so desired to, Cancer Research.

McGOWAN - Marjorie, aged 93 years, formerly of Crakehall, died peacefully at Maple Lodge Nursing Home, Scotton, Catterick Garrison on December 23. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, January 4 at 1.45 p.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium.

McGREGOR - Suddenly on December 22. Paige, aged 20 years, of Bishop Auckland, formerly of Witton-le-Wear and Howden-le-Wear. Treasured daughter of Tracey and Brian, much loved mam of Faith, also a dear sister, niece and cousin. Will friends please meet for service in the Salvation Army Hall at Hexham on Friday, January 4 at 1.30 p.m., followed by interment in Hexham Cemetery. Any flowers c/o Gibson Funeral Services, Cockton Hill Road, Bishop Auckland.

McNAB - Peacefully, after a brief illness, at Darlington Memorial Hospital on December 23, 2007. John Crombie (formerly of Fifth Avenue, Glasgow), dearly loved son of the late Archibald Jackson (Archie) and Dorothy Oswald (Doris) McNab and a dear cousin to the family. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, January 11 at 2.15 p.m., to which all friends are invited. Family flowers only please.

MELVILLE - December 26, suddenly, of Lumley Crescent, Ferryhill. Andrew, aged 45 years, dearly loved husband of Dawn, a much loved son of June and a dear brother and brother-in-law. Cortege leaving residence at 9.00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3 for service and committal at Durham Crematorium at 9.30 a.m. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to St. Margaret's Centre, plate provided in crematorium.

METCALFE - Darlington December 23, peacefully in hospital. Gwen, aged 78 years, a dearly loved wife of the late Ken, a much loved mam to Kenneth, Neil, Carole, Nigel, Paula, Stuart and Tracy, a dear mother-in-law, nana, great-nana and sister and a much loved aunt. Sadly missed by all her family and friends. Funeral Monday January 7. Service to be held in St. Andrew's Church, Haughton Village 3.00 p.m., prior to cremation. METCALFE - Patricia, aged 80 years, peacefully after a short illness, on December 25 in St. Teresa's Hospice, of Carleton Drive, Darlington. Beloved wife of the late Ted. MIDDLETON - James Robert (Jim), aged 65 years of Hawes, died peacefully at home on December 30, after an illness borne with great courage and dignity. Dearly loved husband of Enid, much loved dad of Tina and Sharon, dear father-in-law to Mark and Tony and loving grandad of James and Lauren. Cremation private followed by a Service of Thanksgiving at St. Margaret's Church, Hawes on Thursday January 10, at 1.00 p.m. Friends please meet at the church. Family flowers only please, if desired donations may be given on the plate provided in the church for The Leyburn District Nurses and Herriot Hospice Homecare.

MILLS - May (nee Craman). On December 30, peacefully at Yohden Hall, Blackhall, late of Castle Eden, aged 103 years, beloved wife of the late Charles and dear aunt of Honor. Service to take place at St. James' Church, Castle Eden on Saturday, January 5 at 11.30 a.m., prior to interment in the churchyard. All friends are welcome. Please meet at the church. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu of flowers if so desired to St. James' Church.

MITTON - January 2, (suddenly, at home), of West Cornforth. Gladys, aged 78 years. Beloved wife of the late Les, loving sister of Brian and also a dear sister-in-law, cousin and aunt. Will friends please meet for service on Thursday January 10, at 9.30 a.m. at Durham Crematorium Chapel.

MORRELL - December 27, of Heighington, formerly of Sunderland. Peter, aged 63 years, beloved husband of Audrey, devoted dad of Elaine and Andrea, dear father-in-law to Jonathan and John, a much loved and loving grandad to Emily and Lucy, also a dear brother-in-law and uncle. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium at 12.00 noon on Friday, January 4, followed by refreshment in Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield where all are invited to raise a glass in memory of Peter. Family flowers only. Donations may be left with the family or at the crematorium for the Air Ambulance.

A loving wife of Charlie, a much loved mam of Loretta, Nini, Billy, Andrew, Marie, Ian and the late Idella, a dear mother-in-law and nana to eleven grandchildren, also sister of Muriel and the late Betty. NEESAM - George, died peacefully in hospital, on December 22, 2007, aged 89 years, a dearly loved husband of the late Joan, beloved father of Pat, father-in-law of David, devoted grandad of Gary and dearest great-grandad of Claira and Louisa. Funeral service will take place at St. Thomas' Parish Church, Brompton on Monday January 7, 2008 at 12.45 p.m., followed by a private cremation. Family flowers only please.

PATTERSON - December 31, tragically, of Ushaw Moor. Barry, aged 49 years, a dearly loved son of Olive, a much loved brother, dearly loved by Diane and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Ted Patterson of Worsley Park, Darlington, formerly of Chester-le-Street, Murton and Hetton-le-Hole, following a long happy and healthy life, died after a short illness on Christmas Eve 2007.
