Friends please meet for service at St. Giles' Church, Gilesgate on Monday, February 18 at 1.15 p.m. Cremation to follow at Durham Crema torium. Donations in lieu of flowers if desired to the British Heart Foundation c/o Stuart Wright Funeral Service Ltd., Gilesgate, Durham.


BAINBRIDGE - February 15, of Beech Avenue, Spennymoor. Joan, aged 81 years, beloved daughter of the late George and Eliza Bainbridge. Would friends please meet in St. Paul's Church Wednesday for a service at 2.10 p.m., followed by committal at Durham Crematorium.

Funeral Thursday, February 14. Friends please meet for service in All Saints' Church, Ravensdale Road at 9.30 a.m., followed by cremation at Darlington Cremat-orium. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, may be sent for Scope, c/o Seaton Leng and Son Ltd., Bondgate, Darlington, DL3 7JR.

BANNISTER - February 12, tragically. Trevor, aged 41 years, of Coundon. Beloved partner of Melanie, a much loved dad and father-in-law, devoted son of Betty and Malcolm, also a dear brother of Andrew, Julie and Katrina, brother-in-law and uncle. Will friends please meet for service in St. James' Church, Coundon at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, followed by interment in the cemetery. Always love you Daddy. Niall and Shay.


BARBOUR - Alistair Guthrie (Jock) February 10, in Rutson Hospital after a short illness borne with courage. Will be sadly missed by Christine, daughters Fiona and Alison and their families. Service at Darlington Crematorium on Monday February 18, at 1.15 p.m. Family flowers only.


BARKER - February 14, (peacefully, in hospital), of Newbiggin, Middleton- in-Teesdale. Gladys Amy, aged 86 years, dearly loved wife of the late Jack. Much loved mother of John, Lester and Malcolm, dear grandma and great-grandma. Sadly missed by all of her family and friends. Would friends please meet for funeral service at Newbiggin Methodist Chapel on Wednesday February 20, at 11.30 a.m. followed by interment. Family flowers only please, donations if desired may be given in chapel to Chapel Funds and The British Heart Foundation.


BARNES - Pauline (nee Mann), of Great Broughton, near Stokesley and formerly of Dersingham, Norfolk, died peacefully in hospital on February 9, 2008. Beloved mother of Sarah, Peter and Bruce, a loving grandmother and good friend. Private family cremation. A celebration of the life of Pauline will be held at St Augustine's Church, Kirkby near Stokesley on Thursday, February 28, time 12.45 p.m. for 1.00 p.m. Flower arrangements or potted plants (bulbs e.g.) at the Church entrance very welcome. (Please collect them at the end of the service).


BARRETT - February 13 (peacefully in hospital), of Newton Aycliffe. Kevin, aged 68 years, beloved husband of the late Sheila, also a much loved brother, uncle and friend. Requiem Mass at St. Mary's Church, Newton Aycliffe on Wednesday, February 20 at 12.00 noon, prior to interment in Stephenson Way Cemetery. All friends welcome, please meet at Church. Evelyn, aged 87 years, dearly beloved wife of the late Duncan, loving mum of John, Denise and Maureen and a much loved grandmother of Louise, Neil, Richard, Simon and Andrew. Funeral Monday February 18. Would friends please meet 10.15 a.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium.

Dave of Bishopton a much loved dad of David and Lewis, dearly loved by Lorraine, dear son of the late Kathryn and Norman, a dear brother of Alison, a dear uncle and brother-in-law and much loved friend of Sue and Paul. Service and cremation at Darlington Crematorium Wednesday, February 20 at 10.45 a.m. Friends please meet at the Crematorium.


BLACKBURN - February 13 (in hospital). George (Lloyd), aged 89 years, of Starmer Crescent, Darlington. A dear husband of the late Doll, a loving father of Maureen and the late Pat, a dear grandfather of Vanessa, Clare, Emma and Helen, also a great-grandfather. Funeral Wednesday, February 20. Would friends please meet 10.30 a.m. for service in St. John's Church, prior to cremation at Darlington Crematorium.

Margaret (nee Dixon), aged 70 years, beloved wife of Arthur, much loved mam of John, grandma of David and Clare, great-grandma of Adam, also a step-mam and step-grandma, much loved sister of Dennis and a dear aunt. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium at 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13. Bus provided from residence.


BROWN - Peacefully on February 11. Linda, dearly loved daughter of the late Lawrence and Doris of Osmotherley and a much loved and special sister. Private family service to take place.


BYKERK - (Coxhoe) February 9, peacefully in Bowburn Care Centre. Winifred (Winnie), aged 84 years, a loving wife of Martin, a dearly loved mother of Derek and Doreen and a dear mother-in-law of Nancy and Eric also a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Would family and friends please meet for service at St. Mary's Church, Coxhoe on Wednesday, February 20 at 11.10 a.m., followed by committal at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only. Thomas Malcolm (Robin) aged 59 years, beloved son of Hugh and the late Mary Catherine, a dearly loved brother of Allan and Ann and also a dear uncle. Would friends please meet for service on Thursday, February 21 at 2.30 p.m. at Durham Crematorium Chapel. All are welcome afterwards for refreshments at Ferryhill Station W.M.C.
