Will friends please meet for service in St. Helen's Parish Church on Wednesday, February 6 at 12.30 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium at 1.30 p.m. Family flowers only please. NICHOLSON - Marjorie (nee Pounder), born April 25, 1921, died February 2, 2008 at Beechwood Nursing Home, Northallerton, formerly of West Burton and The Grange, South Kilvington, Thirsk. Loving wife of John Francis (Frank) Nicholson, mother of Francis and Stephen, mother-in-law of Di and Julie, grandmother of Victoria, Stephanie and Clive and great-grandmother to Bethany and Annabel. Funeral service to be held at Darlington Crematorium on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 1.15 p.m.

Brian, aged 69 years, late of Gurney Valley, Canada and Australia, dearly beloved husband of Moureen, much loved dad of Michael, Allyson and Grant, loving grandfather to Devon, Shaylyn, Sophie and Mitchell, a dear brother-in-law, uncle and nephew to Aunt Betty, also a special friend to many. Raymond, aged 77 years, beloved husband of Norma, loving dad of Linda, devoted granda of Leigh-Anne, Deborah and Emmalene, also a dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle and cousin. PUGH - Beyond the sunset there are no tomorrows, beyond the sunset there are no sorrows, beyond the sunset she waits for us. Love from husband Walter. Mam, we are so proud of you, you were brave and beautiful to the end. We will miss you with all our hearts for the rest of our lives. You are our inspiration. Love from Gareth and Sonia.


PUGH - Of Belmont (peacefully in hospital), on February 2, aged 66 years, Kathleen (nee Reay). Church service to be held at Carrville Methodist Church on Monday, February 11 at 12.00 noon, to be followed by cremation at Durham City Crematorium at 1.00 p.m. All welcome. No black clothing by request. Family flowers only. All donations received to be shared between the RVI Ward 6A Haematology Day Unit and the RVI Haematology Ward 8 Patient Comfort Fund. We bid farewell to a wife and mother and lover and above all a friend. You taught us well and have given us the strength and the courage to continue in your absence. A higher power has decreed your work here is complete. The peace and tranquillity you now enjoy is a reward for a job well done. Much loved sister to Alan, Joan and Mary.

REDDEN - February 4, of Brandon Lodge Nursing Home. Jennie, (nee Renneberg), aged 80 years. Beloved wife of Jimmy, a much loved mam of Jennifer and Fred, a dearly loved nanna of David, Alistair and Wesley, a devoted great-nanna and a loving sister. Would friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium Chapel on Tuesday, February 12, at 10.30 a.m.


REED - On February 1, peacefully in hospital (of Darlington). Donald Frederick (Don), aged 79 years, beloved husband of the late Frances (Jill), loving dad of Tina, Deborah and Stephen, also a much loved grandad and great-grandad. The funeral service will take place at Corston Church near Bath.


REWCASTLE - February 3, after an illness bravely borne, of Shildon. Eric, aged 50 years, dearly loved son of Olive and the late Eric, also a dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Will friends please meet for service in Shildon Methodist Church at 9.45 a.m. on Friday, February 8, followed by cremation at Darlington.


RITCHIE - On February 2, of Rowley Crescent, Esh Winning. Alfred, aged 91 years, dearly loved husband of Olga (nee Brass), dearest dad of Carolyn, father-in-law of the late Bill and will be sadly missed by all his relatives and friends. Would friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Thursday, February 7 at 10.30 a.m. Donations in lieu of flowers may be given after the service for Willowburn Hospice. Friends welcome for refreshments at the Stonebridge Inn afterwards.

Elsie, aged 82 years, beloved wife of the late John, dear sister of Ann and sister-in-law of Frank, sadly missed step-mother of Robert and Thomas. ROBINSON - Kenneth Norman (Ken), aged 74 years, of Barnard Castle, died peacefully in hospital on February 6. Dearly loved husband of Hazel, much loved father of Amanda, Caroline and Christopher, a dear father-in-law, doting grandad of Thomas, Eloise, Kate, Lewis, Robert, Victoria, William and Johnny and a dear brother. Funeral service at St. Mary's Parish Church, Barnard Castle on Thursday, February 14 at 11.00 a.m., followed by private interment. Friends please meet at church. ROFF - Mary, who lived in Nunthorpe and Gainford, died on January 30 after a short illness borne with courage and determination. Beloved wife of Michael, much loved mother of Richard and Tim, a loving grandmother and a good friend. Funeral service today, Friday, February 8 in St. Mary's Church, Gainford at 12.30 p.m., followed by interment at Gainford Cemetery. Family flowers only. ROHWER - Rolf D. Rohwer Originally of Golden, Colorado. Died unexpectedly on January 25, 2008 while travelling in the U.S.A. aged 65 years. A much loved husband to Carole and father of Rolf and Kirsten. His funeral service will be held on February 11, 2008. The service will commence at 11.45 a.m. at St. Thomas' Church, Brompton, Near Northallerton.


ROWLAND - (Ashington) February 4, 2008, peacefully in hospital, formerly of Stanhope. Winifred (Winnie), aged 91 years, dearly beloved wife of the late Leslie, dearly loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all the family. Winnie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral service and cremation to be held at Cowpen Crematorium on Monday, February 11 at 10.30 a.m. Friends please meet at the Crematorium.
