Phyllis Mary in her 98th year, widow of Alan (former Dean of York), beloved sister of Peter Parkhouse. Service in Durham Cathedral on Thursday, February 21 at 2.00 p.m. Private cremation to follow. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, for St. Cuthbert's Hospice c/o Stuart Wright Funeral Service, Marshall Terrace Gilesgate, Durham.


ROBINSON - January 31, at Tenlands Care Home, Ferryhill. Jean, aged 83 years, beloved wife of the late Chris, much loved twin sister to Doreen and loving aunt to Linda, Barrie, Derek, Doreen, John, Shirley and David. Would friends please meet for service at the Salvation Army Citadel, West Cornforth on Thursday, February 7 at 2.40 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham. All are welcome afterwards for refreshments at the Salvation Army Hall.


ROBINSON - On January 23, in hospital, of Elderwood Care Home, Darlington. Rhoda Ada Mary, aged 94 years, loving wife of the late Arthur and a dearly loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral Friday, February 1. Friends please meet for service in St. Matthew and St. Luke's Church, at 1.15 p.m., followed by interment North Cemetery. Flowers may be sent c/o Seaton Leng and Son Ltd., Bondgate, Darlington, DL3 7JR.


SHIELDS - January 28, suddenly at George Short Close, Darlington. Robert Anthony, aged 54 years, a dearly loved son of Elizabeth and the late Robert and a much loved brother of Michael and Irene. Funeral Wednesday, February 6. Friends please meet for service at Darlington Crematorium at 1.15 pm

Mary Isabella (Mavis), in her 90th year, dearly loved wife of the late Kenneth, much loved mum of Susan, dear mother-in-law of Roger, loving gran of Deborah. Funeral Thursday, January 31. Friends please meet for service in Darlington Crematorium at 1.45 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be given at the service for Springfield Care Home.


SPEDDING - January 31, of Sunnybrow. Rita, aged 94 years, formerly Brown, nee Wade. Beloved wife of the late Reg, loving mother of Brian, Derek and Gordon, also a dear mother-in-law and grandmother. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium at 12.30 p.m., Wednesday, February 6.


SPENCE - January 27, on his 72nd Birthday, at The Lambert Hospital, Thirsk. Tony, dearly loved husband of the late Sue, a loving father of Anthony, Ian, Mark and Simon, dear father-in-law to Sam and Christina and friend to Joanne and Alyson and adored grandad of his nine grandchildren. Friend to many and a great family man. The funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Church, Thirsk on Friday February 1 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment.


SUMMERS - January 30 (peacefully in hospital), of Henry Street, Darlington. George, aged 94 years, beloved husband of the late Muriel, also a loving father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. Funeral Thursday, February 7. Would friends please meet at 3.00 p.m. for service at Northlands Methodist Church, Darlington, followed by cremation.


SUTHERN - (Fencehouses) Peacefully on January 21, aged 82 years. Bill, beloved partner of Betty, a devoted grandad and great-grandad. Will be sadly missed by all his family and many friends. Friends please meet for service at the Independent Methodist Church, Richard Street, Hetton-le-Hole on Thursday, January 31 at 10.10 a.m., followed by cremation at Sunderland Crematorium. SWALES - On January 28. George Ambrose, aged 82 years, beloved husband of the late Margaret Kate, a loving father of Terry, Pat and Margaret, much loved grandad and great-grandad. Requiem Mass at St. Bede's R.C. Church, Newton Hall, Durham on Thursday, February 7 at 11.00 a.m. Interment to follow in South Road Cemetery. Refreshments at Bede Lodge Social Club. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to Whitby R.N.L.I. or the Landing Craft Association.


TAYLOR - William Ellis (Bill), has danced his last dance, swum his last length, cut his last hedge and walked his last walk, but thoroughly enjoyed all these activities until his 91st Birthday. He died on January 28 in the Friarage Hospital after a short period of illness, cared for wonderfully by doctors and nurses. He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and Richmond folk. Please meet at the Darlington Crematorium on Tuesday, February 5 at 1.45 p.m. for the funeral. Family flowers only please, but donations can be left after the service which will be given to Richmond Swimming Pool.


TINDALE - On January 25, in hospital, of St. Paul's Place, Darlington and formerly of Park View, Witton Gilbert. Mary (Molly), aged 93 years, dearly loved wife of the late Albert, a dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Thursday, January 31 at 10.30 a.m. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Great North Air Ambulance, c/o Stuart Wright Funeral Service, Gilesgate, Durham.


TINDALL - January 27, (peacefully, at home), in Stokesley. Ian Francis Foxton. Dearly loved husband of Joy, loving father of Julia and Simon, father-in-law of Roger, dearest grandpa of Matthew and Beth. Funeral service to take place at St. Peters and St. Pauls Church, Stokesley on Tuesday February 5, at 1.00 p.m. followed by interment. Family flowers only. Ellen (nee Guy), aged 82 years, beloved wife of the late George, much dearly loved mam, mother-in-law, granma and great-granma. Friends please meet for service in Bearpark Methodist Church on Friday, February 1 at 9.15 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu for Brandon Lodge Nursing Home may be given after the service. Friends welcome for refreshments at Bearpark Club afterwards.


TROWBRIDGE - On January 26, after a long illness, of Oswald Court, Durham. Nick, aged 51 years, much missed by all his family and friends. WALLACE - Isobel died suddenly on January 29, 2008, loving wife of Bill and a dearly loved mother of Brian, Joanne, Robert and Kenneth, a much loved nana and great-nana. Funeral service to be held at All Saints' Parish Church, Northallerton on Thursday, February 7 at 12.00 noon.
