HAYTON - January 18, died peacefully at home in Bedale, after a long illness (formerly of Darlington). Doris (Nellie), aged 93 years, loving mother of Eileen, Eddie, David and Norma. Funeral service to be held at Darlington Crematorium on Monday, January 28 at 10.45 a.m. No flowers by request. Donations, if desired, for the Baby Unit at the Friarage Hospital. Friends please meet at the crematorium.


HETHERINGTON - January 19 (suddenly), of Shildon. Ruth, aged 84 years, loving sister of Peggy and a wonderful auntie. Would friends please meet for service in the Methodist Church, Shildon on Monday, January 28 at 10.15 a.m., followed by cremation at Darlington Crematorium.


HOARE - January 19 suddenly but peacefully in hospital, of Scruton. Sam, aged 93 years, beloved husband of Shirley, a dearly loved father, step-father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Would friends please meet for service in St. Radegund's Church, Scruton on Monday, January 28 at 12.00 noon, prior to cremation. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, for the British Heart Foundation.


HODGSON - (nee Sparke) January 17, in hospital, of Aldbrough-St-John (formerly of Fairfield, Stockton-on-Tees). Marjorie, aged 82 years, wife of the late Eric, mum of Elizabeth and Mark, grandma of Amy, Matthew, Alasdair, Daniel, Tom and Beth. She was loved and will be missed by all of us. Funeral Friday, January 25. Friends please meet for service in Darlington Crematorium at 11.15 a.m. All welcome. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired may be sent for The Alzheimers Society c/o Seaton Leng and Son Ltd., Bondgate, Darlington DL3 7JR.


HODGSON - On January 15, sadly departed, after a long illness, peacefully in hospital of Esh Winning. Tracy (nee Meadows), aged 33 years, devoted wife of Mark, dearly loved mam of Chloe, Stewart, Beatrice, Kaylum and Tia, a loving daughter of Fred and Ethel, sister of Pauline and Carol, daughter-in-law of Jack and the late Liz, sister-in-law of Robert, Lisa, Jason and Richard and sadly missed by all her family and friends. Friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Thursday, January 24 at 2.30 p.m. Donations if desired may be given after the service for Cancer Research U.K. Friends welcome for refreshments at Newhouse Club afterwards.


HOWLETT - (nee Mann) January 20 (peacefully, in Hundens Park Care Home). Edith, aged 83 years, formerly of Katherine Street, Darl-ington, beloved wife of the late Leonard, loving mother of Stan and the late Leonard, mother-in-law of Linda, a dear nana, great-nana, sister and aunt. Funeral arrangements to follow.


HOWLETT - Aunt Edie No more times for us to share or memories to make. Those we made are in my heart, never to be replaced. I will miss you so much. Love always, Dot x

Harry, aged 80 years, a much loved husband of Doris, a loving dad of Anthony, Harry, Derek, Elaine, June and Val, also a dearly loved father-in-law and grandad. Funeral Wednesday January 30. Would friends please meet 11.45 a.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium.


HUNT - January 18, peacefully in hospital, of Bedale. Kath, aged 93 years, beloved wife of the late Stan, dear aunt of Margaret, Maureen and Margaret and a great-aunt of Andrew and Kevin. Funeral service and interment to be held at St. Gregory's Church, Bedale on Wednesday, January 23 at 1.30 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, for St. Gregory's Church.


INMAN - January 17. Jenny (nee Cartlidge), suddenly, aged 70 years, dearly beloved wife of Norman, much loved and loving mother of Trevor, John, Deborah and the late Derek, loving grandmother of Matthew, Rebecca, Amanda, Christopher, Freddy, Wilfred, Cecily, Joshua and Kelly, dearly loved sister of Elsie, Kathleen, Raymond and the late William and Ethel, also a loving mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. Will friends please meet for service in St. Paul's Church, Witton Park at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, followed by private cremation. Floral tributes are welcome or donations in lieu may be left for Church Funds. Always giving herself to others, Jenny's kind and generous nature will be sorely missed by all.


IRVING - January 18, in hospital, of Gilesgate. Bill, aged 79 years, son of the late William and Ethel, brother of Vera and Ralph, also uncle, brother-in-law and very dear friend of Malcolm. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Tuesday, January 29 at 12.00 noon. Afterwards all welcome to the Grange Foundry, Gilesgate. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to Cancer Research U.K. c/o Stuart Wright Funeral Service, Gilesgate, Durham. Plate provided at the Crema-torium.


IVIN - January 20 (suddenly in hospital). Ken, aged 73 years, of Darlington, a dearly loved husband of Mary, a loving father of Gary and Neil, also a much loved grandad and brother of Audrey and Jean. Funeral Monday, January 28. Would friends please meet at 10.00 a.m. for service at St. John's Church, prior to interment at the North Cemetery.


JAMESON - January 20 (suddenly at home), of Lilburn Close, Shildon. Mary, aged 87 years, a beloved wife of the late Richard and a loving mother of Ann. Cremation Tuesday, January 29 at Darlington, following a service in St. John's Church, Shildon at 1.00 p.m. Friends please meet at Church. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Church Funds, if so desired.


LAYCOCK - Harold, aged 88 years, passed away peacefully at home on January 23. Beloved husband of the late Joyce, a much loved father of Robert and Christopher. Kevin, a dearly loved son of Bob and Pat (nee Kennedy), dearest dad of Christ-opher, Oliver and Callum, a dear brother of Susan and the late Anthony and Christine, a dear uncle of Hannah and Harry, a respected brother-in-law of Ian, a very dear friend of Yvonne, also a dear nephew and cousin. Cortege to leave Linden Road, Ferryhill at 11.50 a.m. on Thursday, January 31 for funeral service in All Saints' R.C. Church, Ferryhill at 12.00 noon, prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium at 1.00 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations, if so desired, to Macmillan Nurses. Plate provided at back of Church. Lucy, aged 89 years, dearly loved sister of the late Mary, Margaret, James and John, a much loved aunt of Maureen and Anne, also great-aunt and great-great-aunt. Will friends please meet for Requiem Mass in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Bishop Auckland at 10.00 a.m. on Monday, January 28, followed by interment in Bishop Auckland Cemetery. R.I.P.


METCALFE - January 23, after an illness borne with great dignity, of Relly Close, Broompark Estate. Peter aged 68 years, a dearly loved husband of Ann, a much loved son of Gladys and the late Alfred, son-in-law of the late Mary, loving dad of Jayne, Allyson, Andrew and Lee, a dear father- in-law and the greatest grandad in the world to Sophie, Jonty, Charlie, Andrew, Dan, Lexy, Odessa and Killian and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
