BOWRON November 28 (peacefully in hospital), of Beaconsfield Court Nursing Home, Barnard Castle (formerly of 38 Leekworth Gardens, Middleton-in-Teesdale). George Stanley, aged 89 years, beloved husband of the late Hilda, a much loved father of Pat, Derek, Rita and Kathleen and a dearly loved granda. Would friends please meet for service in St. Mary's Church, Middleton-in-Teesdale on Wednesday, December 3 at 12.00 noon, prior to interment. Family flowers only. BRITTAIN Jean Peacefully on November 23, in Derby City General Hospital. Jean, dear wife of the late Harry, loving mother of Janet and Sally, dear mother-in-law of Phil and Morton and a much loved grandma of Will. Service took place on Monday, December 1 in St. Peter's Church, Redcar at 9.45 a.m., followed by cremation at Teesside Crematorium.

BRITTON November 25 (peacefully after a long illness), of Eastbourne Nursing Home. Kenneth, aged 56 years, sadly missed by all. Funeral Wednesday, December 10. Will friends please meet for service 11.45 a.m. at Darlington Crematorium prior to cremation.

BROMLEY November 29, (peacefully), in Defoe Court Nursing Home, Newton Aycliffe, (of Willington). Mary, aged 98 years, dear wife of the late Harry, loving mam of Maureen, dearest mother-in-law of Ken, treasured grandma and great-gran. Funeral Friday December 5. Will friends please meet 11.30 a.m. for service and committal at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if so desired to, Defoe Court Residents Fund, a plate will be provided at the crematorium.

BROWN November 28, (peacefully, in hospital). Margery, aged 85 years of Northallerton, (late of Scarborough), much loved mother of Malcolm and Isabel, dearly loved grandmother of Richard and Angela. Funeral service to be held at Darlington Crematorium on Friday December 5, at 11.45 a.m.

BRUCE Dorothy Elizabeth, (nee Heighley). Died peacefully on December 2, at her home in Surrey. Beloved wife of Robert, she will be solely missed by all her family and friends.

Doris, aged 76 years, beloved wife of the late Jack, much loved mam of Maureen and Alan, loving mother-in-law of Linda, devoted gran of Gemma and Lisa, a dear sister-in-law of Mary and Joyce and also a very special friend of Jean. Service and committal at Durham Crematorium Chapel on Thursday at 2.30 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers if desired to, The National Asthma Campaign.

CAIRNS December 3 (peacefully, in hospital), of William Street, Bowburn. Ellen, aged 77 years, much loved wife of the late Arthur, a dear mother of Beryl, Brenda, Denise and the late Tracey who died at 3 years old, a dear mother-in-law of Robert, Vic and Barry, a devoted nanna of Dawn, Beverley, Tracey, Keith, Simone and Lisa, also a great-grandma. Would friends please meet for service in Christ the King Church at 10.00 a.m., on Wednesday, followed by interment in Bowburn Cemetery.

CARR Charles Albert Dominic. Peacefully at home, aged 92 years. Beloved husband of the late Rose, son of the late Joan and Winifred Carr. Robert (Kit), aged 89 years, beloved husband of the late Florence, dearest father of Pauline and the late Robert, dear father-in-law of Mike, loving grandad of Stephen, Peter and Alison and also a dear great-grandad. Service to be held at Fishburn Methodist Chapel on Friday at 1.40 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham.

DAWSON Rose Emma of Nuneaton, Warwick-shire, formerly of Willington, passed peacefully away on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at Ivydene Care Home, aged 88 years. Loving mother of Mary, Judy and Julie and a much loved grandmother of Alan, Brian, Helen, Carl, Wayne, Darren and Angela.
