Will friends please meet for service in Wolsingham Parish Church at 1.00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24, followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only. PENDER Jimmy, aged 66 years, of Catterick Village (formerly of Richmond), died suddenly in hospital on December 21. Dearly loved husband of Sheila, much loved father of Jackie and Tim and loving grandfather of Max and Jamie. Funeral service at Richmond Methodist Church on Monday, December 29 at 1.30 p.m., followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the church. Family flowers only. If desired, donations may be given for Methodist Church Funds.

PLUCK Edna (nee Hall), late of Sedgefield, on December 23, peacefully in the Manor House Nursing Home, Stamford Bridge, aged 82 years. All enquiries to the Co-operative Funeral Service, York. Tel. RANSON John (Jack), aged 92 years, of Richmond, died peacefully in hospital on December 20. Dearly loved husband of Megan, much loved father of Wendy Joicey and a dear father-in-law, loving grandfather and great-grandfather. Funeral service at St. Mary's Church, Richmond on Tuesday, December 30 at 11.00 a.m., followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the church.

READSHAW December 18, tragically, of Ferryhill. Daniel, aged 13 years, beloved only son of Iain and Marie (nee Conroy), loving and loved brother of Nicole, Catherine, Rachel and the late Anne-Marie and a cherished grandson, nephew and cousin. Greatly loved and deeply mourned by all. A Requiem Mass for Daniel will be held in All Saints R.C. Church, Ferryhill on Monday, December 29 at 10.00 a.m. Interment following at Chilton Cemetery. Relatives and friends please meet at Church. Refreshments will be provided at Ferryhill Catholic Club afterwards. A candle that burns twice as bright, burns half as long. R.I.P

Will friends please meet for service in St. Paul's Church, Witton Park at 10.45 a.m., on Wednesday, December 24, followed by interment in Witton Park Cemetery. A bus is provided from the family home.

Violet, aged 82 years, beloved wife of the late Norman, also a dear aunt and sister-in-law. Service to be held in St. Lawrence's Church, Middleton-St-George on Friday, January 2 at 1.15 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington.

Susan (nee Burn), aged 81 years, beloved wife of the late Harold, dearly loved mother of Margaret and Roger, dear mother-in-law of Ronnie and Olwen and a much loved gran of Gavin, Darren, Andrew and Helen. Cortege leaving 3 Boyne Court, Wednesday at 10.35 a.m. Friends please meet at St. Edmund's Church for service at 10.45 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham.

SIMONS On December 17, peacefully in Southwoods Nursing Home, formerly of The Crescent, Northallerton. Olive, aged 97 years, dearly loved mother of Eunice and Terence and dearest grandma to Julie, Adam-Danni, Jeremy and Max and great-grandma to Daniel and Emma and dear friend of Mavis. Private family cremation.

SIMPSON December 19, in hospital. John, aged 52 years (Signwriter), of Ferryhill. Beloved and devoted son of Winnie and the late Tom, unexpectedly passed away at Bishop Auckland Hospital in the presence of his dear mother and loving partner Sharron. Friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium at 12.00 noon Monday, December 29. Family flowers only. Refreshments afterwards at Cleves Cross Grange, Ferryhill. Service and committal at the Parish Church, Baldersby St. James, Thirsk on Monday, January 5 at 1.30 p.m., followed by private cremation. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be given for Byland Ward at the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton. A plate will be provided at the service.
