THOMAS December 26 (suddenly in hospital). Annie, aged 71 years, of Station Town. Dearly beloved wife of the late Selwyn, also a much loved mam, mother-in-law, grandma and great-grandma. Cortege to leave residence on Friday for a Requiem Mass at St. Peter and St. Paul R.C. Church, Hutton Henry at 2.30 p.m., prior to interment in the churchyard. All friends are kindly invited, please meet at the church.

THOMASSON Joan December 28 (peacefully at home). Joan (nee Jamieson), aged 73 years, of Hartburn, Stockton. Dearly loved wife of Bill, beloved mother of Brigette, Joanna and Claire, a dear mother-in-law and dearly loved granny. Requiem Mass in St. Cuthbert's R.C. Church, Yarm Road, Stockton Friday, January 2 at 10.00 a.m., prior to interment at Oxbridge Cemetery. Friends please meet at Church.

THOMPSON December 29, formerly of Tenter Street, Bishop Auckland. John Robert (Jack), aged 89 years, a much loved uncle, brother-in-law and a dear friend. Would friends please meet in St. Anne's Church, Market Place, Bishop Auckland Monday, January 5 for a service at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment in Bishop Auckland Cemetery. Cortege leaving 2 Bamburgh Parade, Spennymoor. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to "South Durham Health Care Trust" for the MARA Unit c/o Enquiry Office, Bishop Auckland General Hospital.

Olive, aged 89 years, dearly beloved wife of the late Tommy, devoted mother of Peter and mother-in-law of Sandra, a dearest grandma to Andrew and Sarah, also a dear sister. Cremation Tuesday, January 6 at Durham, following a service in the Crematorium Chapel at 1.30 p.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium.

THORNTON Peacefully in hospital on his Birthday, December 28, of Aged Miners Homes, Bearpark. Norman, aged 93 years, beloved husband of the late Gertrude, loving father of Patricia and Norma, father-in-law of Frank and John and a dear grandad and great-grandad. Friends please meet for service in St. Edmund's Church on Friday, January 2 at 1.00 p.m., followed by private interment in Ushaw Moor Cemetery. He will be sadly missed

Will friends please meet for service and committal at Durham Crematorium Chapel at 11.30 a.m. on Thursday. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Cancer Research. A plate will be provided at the Crematorium.

TRAYNOR Elizabeth Gladys, aged 88 years, formerly of Catterick Village died peacefully at Greenwell House, Bedale on December 20. Beloved wife of the late Douglas, much loved mother of Michael, dear mother-in-law to Anne and loving gran of Peter, Richard and the late Helen. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Monday, January 5 at 2.15 p.m. Friends please meet at the Crematorium Chapel. Family flowers only. If desired, donations may be given at the Crematorium Chapel for Martin House, Wetherby.

WADDLE Sheila December 29 (suddenly at home). Sheila (nee Taylor), aged 70 years, of Kirklevington (form-erly of Mallory Road, Norton). Dearly loved wife of the late Bill, dearest mother of Nigel and Pam, dear mother-in-law of Sue and Trevor, a much loved grandma of Rachel, Katy, Lauren, David, Sarah, Dean, Jade and Ali. Service and cremation at Teesside Crematorium Monday, January 5 at 11.15 a.m. (St Hilda's Chapel). Friends please meet at the Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, may be sent to RAFA, Rothbury House, Rothbury, Morpeth, Northumberland.

WADE John On December 23, at home, after a long illness borne with great courage and dignity. John, aged 65 years, of Long Newton Grange, darling husband of Sonia (nee Dunn), devoted son of Hazel and the late William, dearly loved father of Andrew, Sue and Phil, dear father-in-law of Maria, Dave and Anne, also a dear brother and a much loved grandpa. Thanksgiving service took place Wednesday, December 31. Donations in memory may be sent to St. Mary's P.C.C. (replacement of church lighting), c/o All Saints' Church Office, 22 Dunottar Avenue, Eaglescliffe, TS16 0AB.

WALDIE December 26, peacefully in hospital, of Crossfield Road, Darlington. Vicki (nee Henderson), aged 43 years, beloved wife of Tom, dearly loved mother of Jamie, much loved sister of Paula, loving daughter of Ralph and Lynne Henderson, daughter-in-law of Dot, sister-in-law of Richard and will be sadly missed by Pamela and Denise. Funeral Friday. Friends please meet for service in St. Matthew and St. Luke's Church at 9.00 a.m., followed by cremation. Family flowers only. Donations may be sent for Leukaemia Research, c/o Seaton Leng and Son Ltd., Bondgate, Darlington, DL3 7JR. By Vicki's request, no dark clothing.

Doris, aged 80 years, beloved wife of the late Harold Norman, devoted mam of James, Christine, Susan, Pat and John, a dear mother-in-law, much loved and loving nana and great-nan, also a dear aunt. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium at 11.00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7.

Greta, aged 81 years, beloved wife of the late Robert (Bobby), dearly loved mam of Alan and Robert, a dear mother-in-law and a much loved nana. Would friends please meet at Durham Crematorium Thursday for a service and committal at 1.00 p.m. No flowers, by request.

WARD December 29, peacefully at his home, at Healey. Ian Harry, aged 75 years, the treasured husband of Jill and father of Michael, David and Alex. Celebration of Ian's life at St. Mary's Church, Masham on Thursday, January 8 at 2.00 p.m., followed by private cremation. No flowers please but donations may be left in church for Masham Surgery Fund and Bedale Health Clinic. All friends welcome at the church.

WIGHAM December 26 (peacefully in hospital after a long period of declining health), of Highfield Road, Darlington. Joyce (nee Knight) aged 82 years, dearly loved wife of the late Cliff, much loved mam of Barbara, dear mother-in-law of Geoff and treasured gran of Tim. Funeral Friday, January 9. Friends please meet in the Church of the Holy Family, Cockerton for Requiem Mass at 10.30 a.m., followed by private interment. No flowers by request. WILLIAMSON Norman (formerly of Pickering and Stokesley). Peacefully on December 23, at Ingleby Nursing Home, aged 79 years. Beloved husband of the late Rose, dearly loved father of Stewart and Hilary and a dear grandad. Funeral service to be held today Friday, January 2 at 10.30 a.m. in Stokesley Methodist Chapel, followed by cremation at 11.30 a.m. in the Chapel of St. Bede, Teesside Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations, if so desired, to Ingleby Nursing Home, Lamb Lane, Ingleby Barwick, TS17 0PQ. The family wish to express their grateful thanks to the Nursing Home for their exceptional care throughout.

WILLMER December 29. Very tragically. Andrew, aged 76 years of Newton Aycliffe. Sadly missed by his wife Joan, two sons George and Alan and six grandchildren. Funeral Monday, January 5. Would friends please meet 1.30 p.m. for service at Northlands Methodist Church, Darlington, prior to interment in the North Cemetery.

WRIGHT On December 28, suddenly at 5 Grand View, Sherburn Village. Billy, aged 81 years, a brother and uncle. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Wednesday, January 7 at 10.00 a.m. No flowers please.

Thomas (Tom), aged 79 years, dearly loved husband of Anne and the late Jean, much loved dad of Leslie and Elaine and a loving grandad of Samantha and Lauren. At his request, a private family funeral service has taken place. Donations, if desired, may be sent for Prostate Cancer, c/o Seaton Leng and Son Ltd., Bondgate, Darlington, DL3 7JR.

Marjorie (nee Gash), aged 56 years, loving wife of Tommy, dearly loved mam of Veronica, Thomas, Mark and Samantha, dear mother-in-law of Mark and Sandra, dearest grandmother of Martin, Emma, Tammy and Kate. Friends please meet for service in St. John's Church, Shildon on Tuesday, January 13 at 12.40 p.m., followed by private cremation.

BEST December 27, of Tow Law. Maurice Henry (Morry), devoted and dearly loved brother of Mabel Blackwell and the late Billy. Will friends please meet for service in St. Philip and St. James' Church, Tow Law at 11.00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, followed by interment in Thornley Road Cemetery.

BIRT December 30, (peacefully in his sleep of Ashleigh House, Darlington), formerly of Drybourne Park, Shildon. Joseph, aged 91 years, a loving father to Gillian, will be sadly missed by all. Funeral Wednesday January 14. Will friends please meet for service at St. John's Church, Shildon at 1.00 p.m. prior to interment at Shildon Cemetery.

BROWN December 29, (peacefully), of West Auckland. Joan, (nee Mairs), aged 76 years, loving wife of Cleasby, dearly loved mam of Lynne and Anne, dear mother-in-law of Stephen and George, much loved grandma of Rebecca, Sarah and Bronwyn. The funeral service took place on Thursday January 8, at 3.00 p.m. at Durham Crematorium.

BROWN Maria Carolina Burnay Soares Cardoso, dearly beloved wife for 32 years of Douglas William (formerly of Skeeby), died peacefully in Oporto, Portugal on November 14, 2003. Cremated privately in Portugal.

BRUCE December 24, peacefully at The Gardens Nursing Home, Darlington, formerly of High Coniscliffe. Margaret Agnes, aged 94 years, much loved sister of the late Alice and will be sadly missed by her friends. Funeral Thursday. Service at Darlington Crematorium at 9.15 a.m.

DEVEY (Lanchester) December 29, in St. Andrew's Nursing Home, Stanley and of Valley Grove (formerly of Castleside). Joe, aged 91 years, dearly loved husband of the late Cissy, loving father of Dorothy, Joe and the late Margaret. Sadly missed by all the family. Friends please meet for service at Lanchester Methodist Church on Thursday, January 8 at 12.30 p.m. Interment to follow in Lanchester Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to Willowburn Hospice, Lanchester.

FISHER Joan, of Dalton and Barnard Castle, died aged 84 years on December 23, 2003. A Memorial Service will be held at Kirby Ravensworth Church on Saturday, January 10 at 12.00 noon.

FURLONG December 29, of St Edmund's Close, Brompton-on-Swale (formerly of Carperby). Grace, aged 86 years, re-united with Clifford, died peacefully in hospital on December 29. Dearly loved mum of Dallas Anne, mother-in-law of Charlie and dearly loved nana of Nichola, Paul, Lianne and great-nana of Isaac and Grace. Cremation service will take place at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, January 9 at 11.45 a.m. Family flowers only.
