THOMPSON January 24 (very peacefully), of Darlington. Catherine, aged 72 years, beloved wife of the late Alty, a much loved mother of Vivian, Alan, Elaine, Nigel, Ian, Diane and Linda, a respected mother-in-law, also a loving and devoted nana and grandma. Service at Bondgate Methodist Church, Darlington on Friday, February 6 at 1.20 p.m., followed by interment in the West Cemetery, Darlington. Family flowers only please. THOMPSON January 30 (peacefully in hospital), of Barnard Castle. William Robson Thompson, much loved brother of Mary and the late Ethel and Dorothy. Sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Funeral particulars to follow.

TINDILL Margaret Maureen (nee Dossor), aged 77 years, of Newton-le-Willows, died unexpectedly at home, on January 28. Dearly loved wife of Brian, much loved and special mother of Colin and Sally and loving nana to Robin. Funeral service at St. Patrick's Church, Patrick Brompton on Wednesday, February 4 at 1.30 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington. Friends please meet at the church. Family flowers only, if desired, donations may be given in church for Guide Dogs for the Blind and Church Funds.

TODD January 24 (peacefully, in her sleep), of West Lane, Hawthorn Village. Ada, aged 77 years, beloved wife of the late Jack, much missed mam to Peter and Maggi and a loving grandma to Hannah, Emmy and Nicholas, a dear sister and sadly missed by friends past and present. Would family and friends please meet for service at St Michael and All Angel Church, Hawthorn Village on Monday, February 2 at 10.30 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium at 11.30 a.m.

Phil, aged 74 years, beloved husband of Dorothy, loving father of Paul and a dear grandad to Frances and Matthew and father-in-law to Muffy. Crissy, aged 75 years, beloved wife of the late Henry, dear mother of Christine, Martha, Terry, Jimmy, also the late Henry, Joe and David, dear mother-in-law of Derek, Julie, Janice, Jim and Kath, dearest sister of Cyril and the late Audrey, John, Jimmy, Jacky Medd and Freddie Wallace. Cortege to leave her daughter's residence Tuesday, February 3 for service at St Aidan's Church, Oxford Street, Hartlepool 11.00 a.m., prior to interment at Stranton Grange Cemetery, Hartlepool. All family and friends are welcome.

VICKERS January 22, (suddenly, on holiday), of Devonshire Road, Darlington. Arthur Robert, aged 74 years, dearly loved husband of the late Pat, dear brother of Alice and Sylvia. Funeral Monday. WALKER Joyce, aged 61 years, of School Aycliffe, beloved wife, best friend and soulmate of Alfred, loving mother of Andrew and Louise, also grandmother to Rosie and Matthew. After a long and difficult journey through life, finally the peace she so justly deserves. ASHMORE Maisie (nee McGowan), aged 88 years, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2004. Will be sorely missed by grandchildren Jason, Sue, Christine and David and daughters-in-law Jenny, Ann and Gill.

BAXTER Doris, aged 83 years, of Kneeton Close, Middleton Tyas, died peacefully at home, on January 29. Dearly loved mother of Louis, Dorothy, June and the late Ann and a dear mother-in-law, loving nan and great-nan.
