Beloved husband of Janet, devoted dad of Jessica, a dear son of Joe and Joyce, brother and brother-in-law of Rob and Mavis, also dear son-in-law of Marion and the late Ron. Funeral service to be held at St. Gregory's Church, Bedale on Wednesday, May 26 at 12.00 noon. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, will go towards a charity of the family's choice.

SMITH On May 16, in hospital, of Beachcomber, Seaham, late of Trimdon Colliery. Elizabeth (nee Butterfield), aged 91 years, dearly beloved wife of the late George, a loving mam of Owen and Ann, a very dear mother-in-law of Betty and the late Albert, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, also a much loved aunt. Friends please meet for service and cremation at Sunderland Crematorium on Friday, May 21 at 2.30 p.m. By request, family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if so desired, to Cancer Research U.K., c/o 6 Lambton Road, Jesmond, Newcastle, NE2 4RX. Greatly missed by all her loving family.

Mary, aged 88 years, dearly beloved wife of the late Alex, a devoted mother to Bill and mother-in-law to Joan, a dear grandma to Karl and Nichola and a much loved great-grandma of Jamie and Charlotte, a dear sister to John and sister-in-law of Gwen and Margaret. Cremation Tuesday, May 25 at Darlington. Cortege leaving residence at 9.40 a.m. for a service in St. John's Church, Shildon at 9.50 a.m. Friends please meet at church. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers may be left at church in aid of Cancer Research.

STEPHENSON May 13, suddenly, in hospital. Ann Michelle, aged 38 years, of St. Helens, Bishop Auckland. Lifetime partner of Michael, devoted mam of Brian, Toni-Marie and Jamie, beloved daughter of Irene and the late Allen, a much loved and loving sister to Heather, Joan, Leslie and Paula, a dear sister-in-law, daughter-in-law to Eileen and Michael, also a dear aunt, great-aunt and niece. Will friends please meet for service in St. Mary's Church, Staindrop at 1.00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, followed by interment in Staindrop Cemetery.

STEVENS May 13. Michael, aged 44 years, of Beechfield, Newton Aycliffe. Dearly loved only son of Tom and Joyce, loving dad of Paul and Sarah, dear brother of Carol, former loving husband of Louvain, much loved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and nephew. Funeral Monday, May 24. Would friends please meet 10.45 a.m. at St. Clare's Church, Newton Aycliffe, prior to cremation at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please. STODDART May 16, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, of High Shincliffe, Durham. Dorothy Sybil, aged 70 years, beloved wife of the late Richard (Dick) and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Would friends please meet for service in St. Mary's Church, Shincliffe Village on Monday, May 24 at 1.30 p.m., followed by interment in the church-yard. SYKES Newton Hall, peacefully in hospital on May 14, aged 84 years Kathleen a much loved mother of Angela Wingrove a devoted grandma of Lucy and Sophie. Sadly missed by all the family. William (Bill), aged 75 years, dearly loved husband of Gladys, much loved father of Stephen and David and a loving grandad of Mark, David, Michelle and William. Funeral Friday. TODD May 15 (peacefully in hospital), after a long illness bravely borne. Kenneth (Ken), of Barnard Castle, dearly loved husband of Elizabeth (Betty, nee Fitzpatrick), much loved dad of Suzanne, dear brother of Sheila and Keith, brother-in-law and uncle. Sadly missed by all of his family and friends. Cremation at Darlington Crematorium on Thursday, May 20 at 2.15 p.m., followed by service of thanksgiving at Barnard Castle United Reformed Church at 3.15 p.m. Donations, if desired, may be given in church to Guide Dogs For The Blind and Church Funds.

TOWSE May 18, formerly of St. Stephens Close, Willington. Margaret, aged 98 years, beloved wife of the late Jack, loving mother and mother-in-law of Alma and Alan, devoted gran of Ann, Andrew and Bev, great-gran of Richard and Jonathon and also dear sister of Mary-Jane. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Monday, May 24 at 10.30 a.m.

TREVOR On May 15, peacefully in hospital, of Kilnwick Court, Northallerton. Francis James Edwin (Jim), aged 87 years. Dearly loved husband of Edna, a dear father, father-in-law, grandad and great-grandad. Funeral service to be held in All Saints' Church at 1.45 p.m., Thursday, May 20, followed by cremation. USHER May 18 (peacefully, in hospital), of Kidd Avenue, Sherburn Village. Audrey (nee Harker), aged 74 years, beloved wife of Stan, devoted mam of Brian, treasured mother-in-law of Enza, a sadly missed sister of Jean and Hazel and sadly missed sister-in-law. Cortege to leave residence on Monday for service at St. Mary's Church, Sherburn Village at 1.45 p.m., prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium.

VINCENT Fran, aged 77 years, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on May 13, of Skeeby. Much loved mum of Chris, a dear mother-in-law of Linda and loving grandma to Ruth and Matthew. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, May 21 at 11.15 a.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, may be given at the crematorium for Oxfam.

WATSON May 15, 2004, peacefully in Friarage Hospital, Northallerton. Florence Beatrice, dear wife of the late Leonard Watson, much loved auntie of Margaret, Michael, Melanie, Richard and Matthew, beloved cousin of Edward and Doreen. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 25 at Parkwood Crema-torium, Elland, Halifax at 1.00 p.m. Flowers may be sent to the Lawrence Chapel, Green Hays, Bell Hall, Halifax. Will friends please accept this intimation and meet at the Crematorium.

WEARMOUTH May 16 (peacefully), of Wood Lane, Ferryhill (formerly of Brandon Hill Farm, Tursdale). Edith Mary, aged 82 years, beloved wife of the late Roger, a dearest mother of Roy, Edith, Peter and Alan and a dearly loved mother-in-law, grandma and great-grandma. Will friends please meet for service at St. Luke's Church on Friday at 8.45 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham.

WELSH May 18, of Ramshaw. George William, aged 95 years, beloved husband of Irene, devoted father of Barry, dear brother to Sarah and brother-in-law of Grace and Dorothy. A private family service will be held in Durham Crematorium.

WHITWELL May 20, suddenly at home, in Leeholme, formerly of Woodhouse Lane, Bishop Auckland. Arthur, aged 72 years, devoted husband of Alice, a much loved and loving dad, father-in-law, granda and great-granda. Will friends please meet for service in St. Anne's Church, Bishop Auckland at 1.00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, followed by cremation at Durham.

WILKINSON May 14, in hospital, of Kilnwick Court, North-allerton. Amy, aged 90 years, a much loved sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt. Funeral Monday. WILKINSON May 20, of Bishop Auckland, formerly of Spennymoor. Joan, aged 73 years, beloved wife of Arthur, devoted mother of Gerald, Paul and Julie, a dear mother-in-law, much loved and loving grandma, also a dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Will friends please meet for service in St. Paul's Church, Witton Park at 2.00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, followed by cremation at Durham. All are invited to refreshments in the Village Hall immediately after this service.

WILLIS Chester-le-Street May 13 (in hospital). Arthur, aged 81 years, dearly beloved husband of Ann, a much loved dad of Peter and Douglas, a dear father-in-law of Sandra and Eleanor, also a devoted grandpa. Cortege leaving home residence on Wednesday, May 19 at 12.40 p.m. for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium at 1.00 p.m. Friends please meet at the Crema-torium. No flowers, by request. Donations in lieu to the British Heart Foundation c/o Ward 49, R.V.I. Hospital, Newcastle.

WOODMAN May 18. Kathleen, of Barnard Castle and Teesdale, daughter of the late Athelstan and Violet and step daughter of the late Joan Woodman, of Darlington, a loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt. A private cremation service will take place on Thursday, May 27 at 11.15 a.m. at Darlington Crema-torium. Following this a Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Kathleen will be held in Holy Trinity Church, Eggles-ton, near Barnard Castle at 1.00 p.m. The family welcome all friends to join them and it was Kathleen's wish that informal dress be worn by all who attend the service. No flowers by request. Donations, if desired, for Great North Air Ambulance are being accepted by John Wise Funeral Service, 16 Stainton Village, Barnard Castle, Co. Durham DL12 8RB.

AYLWARD Kate (nee Earl), of Hartforth, died peacefully in hospital on May 22, aged 73 years. Re-united at last with her beloved Basil. Her gentleness and wisdom will be missed by many. Funeral private. Family flowers only but, if desired, donations in her memory to Cancer Research UK or C.P.R.E., may be sent to John Blenkiron and Sons Ltd., Funeral Directors, Victoria House, 21 Queens Road, Richmond, DL10 4AJ.

BARNES May 25, suddenly in hospital, of Dunster Close, Darlington. Paul Andrew, aged 36 years, adored partner of Yvonne, loving daddy of Bethany and Daniel, much loved son of Kathleen and Ted, best mate and brother of Shaun, darling uncle of Shivaun and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral Wednesday. Friends please meet for service in the Church of the Holy Family, Cockerton at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment in the West Cemetery.
