STONE July 16, peacefully, after a short illness bravely borne, of Delves, formerly of Langley Park. Thomas (Tommy), a much loved uncle to all the family. Will be sadly missed by all family and friends. Friends please meet for service at All Saints' Church, Langley Park on Thursday, July 22 at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment at Langley Park Cemetery.

STONES July 19 (peacefully at home), of Shildon. Olive, aged 89 years, beloved wife of the late George, a much loved mother of Connie, Kathleen, Colin and Kevin, a dear mother-in-law of Denise, Barbara, John and Edmund, a devoted gran and great-gran, also a dear sister-in-law and aunt. Would friends please meet for service and cremation at Darlington Crematorium on Monday, July 26 at 11.45 a.m. No flowers by request. Donations in lieu for Downs Syndrome Association may be left on the plate provided at the crematorium.

STOTT July 18, after a short illness, in St. Teresa's Hospice. Les, aged 72 years, much loved husband of Jean, loving father of Erica and Carolyn and father-in-law to Steve, also sadly missed grandad to Gina. Funeral Friday, July 23. Would friends please meet 9.15 a.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium. All floral tributes to be sent to Co-operative Funeral Service, 50 St. Cuthbert's Way, Darlington.

SWAINSTON Liz I would like to welcome everyone who knew Liz to the celebration and thanksgiving for her life in St. Michael and All Angels' Church, Barningham on Wednesday, July 21 at 1.45 p.m., followed by cremation and afterwards at Headlam Hall about 3.00 p.m. It is important to Liz, Roy and family to see you all back at Headlam Hall when the stresses of the day can be put aside and memories and stories of Liz can lead to smiles and even laughter ... a very important part of the healing process for us all. TAYLOR Sheila, aged 63 years, of Scorton, died suddenly in hospital on July 16. Dearly loved wife of the late Norman, much loved sister of Margaret, Doreen, Freda, Jack, Bob and the late Barry, special sister-in-law to Freda, Frances and families and the late Don and his family, very special aunt to Kathryn, David and family and Susan and family. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Friday July 23 at 2.15 p.m. Friends please meet at the Crematorium Chapel. THOMPSON Cliff July 17, suddenly. Cliff, aged 32 years, of Marske by the Sea, the dearly loved son of Alan and Margaret, much loved brother of Julie and Naomi, devoted grandson of Christopher, dear brother-in-law of Derek and special uncle of Emma and Laura. Service and cremation to take place in St. Bede's Chapel, Teesside Crematorium on Monday, July 26 at 2.00 p.m. Family and friends kindly invited. No flowers by request please. Hetty (nee Smith), aged 83 years, beloved wife of the late Harold, a loving mam of Marion and John and a much loved gran and great-gran. Charles Edward, aged 95 years, dearly loved husband of the late Jennie, much loved dad of Robert and the late Charlie, dear father-in-law of Anita, loving grandad of Julie, Stephen, Mark, Helen and Beverley and great-grandad of Liam, Louise, Mark, Christopher and Natalie. Alfred (Alf), aged 82 years, beloved husband of Joan, devoted father of Christine, Valerie, Graham and David, a dear father-in-law, much loved and loving grandad and great-grandad, also a dear brother-in-law and uncle. WILSON July 17, peacefully in hospital, of Ripon. Edith Mary (Peggy), aged 94 years, dearly loved wife of the late Cyril, much loved mother and mother-in-law of Mary and Leonard, loving gran of Jose and Michael, Gill and Ian, Jonathan and Jackie and a great-gran of Helen, Robert, Thomas and James. A service of thanksgiving takes place at Allhallowgate Methodist Church, Ripon on Friday, July 23 at 1.00 p.m., followed by private cremation. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be given to Allhallowgate Methodist Church, a plate will be provided at the church.

WOOD July 15, late of The Bungalows, Thornley. Eva Ellen (formerly Moody), aged 94 years, dearly beloved wife of the late Ned and a much loved mam, grandmother and great-grandmother of all the family. WRAY Sid Aged 81 years. Formerly of Swaledale Avenue, died suddenly and peacefully on Thursday July 15, at 7.20 a.m. Devoted husband of the late Mary (nee Kilcran), a wonderful dad and friend to Marie and the late Billy, much loved grandad, father-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle, a good friend and neighbour, reunited with many and at Peace finally. Funeral Friday July 23. Would friends please meet 11.00 a.m. for service at All Saint's Church, Ravensdale Road, Darlington. All welcome after the service for refreshments in Sir E. D. Walker Homes. WYNNE (Carrville) July 21 (peacefully, in hospital). Diane, aged 26 years, the beloved daughter of Valerie and James, loving sister of Denise, Peter and James, devoted partner of John, also a dear daughter-in-law of Julia and Stephen. Diane will be sadly missed by all her loving family and friends. Friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Thurs-day, July 29 at 10.30 a.m.

ALLISON Vera, aged 83 years, of Colburn, Catterick Garrison, died peacefully in hospital on July 21. Dearly loved wife of the late Bill, much loved mam to Joan, Margaret, Susan, Caroline and David and a loving nana and great-nana. Will be forever missed. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, July 30 at 10.45 a.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium. Floral tributes may be left with John Blenkiron and Sons, 21 Queens Road, Richmond.

ARMSTRONG Stanley (late of Darlington). Suddenly at home in Malvern, Worcestershire, on July 27, aged 85 years. Beloved husband of the late Jessie and father of Stuart and Jean. BAILEY Peggy (previously Hart). On July 20, aged 93 years. Peacefully at Broomfield Hospital. Wife of the late Trevor Hart and late Herbert Bailey. Mother of David and Ian and beloved grandmother of Nigel, Jason, David and Jeremy.

BAINBRIDGE 1949-2004 Mill, following illness, passed away quietly in hospital on July 22 with devoted husband Bill at her side, daughter to Cissie, mother to Simon and Mark, grandmother to Megan, Emilia and Keira. Her enthusiasm for life, together with abundance of kindness and generosity touched so many and her presence will be sorely missed. The last few years have been physically and psychologically challenging for her but she will always be remembered as the landlady who knew how to enjoy herself and provide enjoyment for those around her. Flowers not necessary. Donations to A.B.L.E., Scorton would surely bring a smile to her face.

BELL John, aged 55 years, eldest son of the late Raymond and Janet, devoted brother of Alan and the late Geoff and loved uncle to so many. After a short illness, John left us on July 23, 2004. Funeral on Friday, July 30, 11.30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, Wolviston. Sleep peacefully. If desired, donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Butterwick Hospice, Middlefield Road, Hardwick, Stockton.

BEST On July 26, peacefully after a short illness, in St. Aidan Lodge Residential Home and formerly of Park House Road, Merryoaks, Durham. Ann, aged 93 years, widow of Bob and mother of Margaret, John and Betty, also loved grandmother and great-grandmother. Friends please meet for service at North Road Methodist Church on Friday, July 30 at 2.50 p.m., cremation to follow. Afterwards all welcome back to church for refreshments. No flowers please. BIBBY Robert, aged 87 years, died Thursday, July 22, peacefully in hospital, after a long illness. Loving and dearest husband of Harrita (nee Duncan), father of Gavin and Duncan, father-in-law, grandad and great-grandad. Funeral Friday, July 30. Cortege leaving Rumby Hill Lane, Crook at 1.00 p.m. for a service in the Methodist Chapel, Lydia Street, Willington at 1.15 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium.

BLAND July 30 (peacefully in hospital), of Topcliffe Road, Sowerby, Thirsk. Ethel, aged 85 years, beloved wife of the late William, loving mother of Cynthia and Keith and a loving granny to Robert, Peter, Stuart and Karl and a dear mother-in-law and great-granny. The funeral service will take place at St. Oswald's Church, Sowerby on Friday, August 6 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment. Family flowers only please. Anne will always be remembered for her kindness, good humour and generosity. Cherished aunt of Rebecca, Isobel, Simon, Noreen, Christopher, Ria, Eileen, Michael, Margie, Mello, Carmel, Dympna, Damien, Bernard and Jack, dear sister of Mealda, Patrick, Attracta, Vera and Colm.
