TARBIT On August 4 (tragically taken from us), of Reeth Place, Newton Aycliffe. Steven (Tarbie), aged 26 years, a much loved son, loving brother and a sadly missed uncle and grandson, also a devoted dad. "Now peacefully at rest" Funeral Friday, August 13. Would friends please meet at 10.45 a.m. for service at Neville Parade Methodist Church, followed by interment at Stephenson Way Cemetery.

THOMPSON Alec Suddenly, on August 9, in hospital. Alec, dearly loved husband of Margaret, much loved father of Geoffrey and Stephen. Service and cremation at Teesside Crematorium, Tuesday, August 17, at 11.45 a.m. (St. Hilda's Chapel). Friends please meet at crematorium. No flowers by request. THORNTON August 5 (peacefully in hospital), of Aged Miners Homes, Middlestone Moor. Muriel, aged 83 years, a much loved wife of the late Thomas, also a loving sister and aunt. Would friends please meet for service and committal in Durham Crematorium Chapel at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday.

TODD August 9 (peacefully, at home), of Brankin Road, Darlington. James, aged 59 years. Much loved husband to Carol, loving dad to Pamela, Michael and Helen, also a devoted brother, father-in-law, grandad, brother-in-law and uncle. Funeral Monday, August 16. Would friends please meet 9.30 a.m. for service at St. John's Church, Darlington followed by cremation.

TOMLINSON August 12 (peacefully in hospital), of Kings Road, Wingate. Norman, aged 52 years, beloved husband of Katrina (Trina), dearly loved father, dearest father-in-law and a much loved grandad. Cortege leaving residence, Tuesday at 1.35 p.m. Friends please meet at Holy Trinity Church for service at 1.45 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham.

VANE On August 7, 2004, peacefully among her family. Jean Margaret, widow of the late beloved R.E. Vane. Funeral at Shincliffe Parish Church on Monday, August 16, at 12.45 p.m., cremation to follow at Durham. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to The M.S. Society.

Judith Ivy, aged 98 years, dearly loved wife of the late George, loving mother of Peter, mother-in-law of Eileen, grandmother of Ian, Lesley and Sharon and great-grandma of Harry, Yasmin, Joshua and Lauren. Funeral Monday, August 16. Friends please meet for service in the West Cemetery Chapel, Darlington at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment. Zena (nee Handley), aged 70 years, devoted mam of June, Valerie, Marion, Christine and Robert, a dear mother-in-law, much loved gran and great-gran, also a dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Will friends please meet for service in Shildon Methodist Church at 2.00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, followed by cremation at Durham.

WALTON (nee Crow) Emily, aged 88 years, of Roseby Road, Horden and Easington Colliery. passed away peacefully on August 7, after a long illness bravely borne. Now re-united with her beloved husband John Cyril and her parents Henry and Mary and sister Ruby. Emily was a dear sister-in-law, cousin, godmother, neighbour, friend and precious auntie. Will be received into church 7.30 p.m. on Sunday. Friends please accept this invitation and meet for service at 1.45 p.m. on Monday, August 16 at St. Mary's Church, Horden, followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Maureen (nee Patterson), aged 56 years, a dearly loved wife of Alan, a much loved mam of Neil and David, a devoted grandma of Mackenzie, a very dear daughter of Irene and the late Jack, also a dear daughter-in-law of Jean and sister of Irene. Would friends please meet at St. Luke's Church, Ferryhill on Wednesday for a service at 10.15 a.m., followed by committal at Durham Crematorium.

WHARAM Died August 11, peacefully in Greenwell House, Bedale, formerly of Londonderry. Ada, aged 92 years, beloved wife of the late Fred, dearly loved mum of Jean and Kathleen, a dear mother-in-law, grandma and great-grandma. Funeral service to be held at St. Gregory's Church, Bedale on Monday, August 16 at 11.30 a.m., followed by private cremation. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to be shared between the Friends of the Friarage Hospital and Bedale Church.
