Colin, aged 64 years, of Coronation Street, Darlington, a dearly loved husband to Pam, loving dad to Carl, step-dad to Diane, Neil, Andrew and Iain, father-in-law to Mark and Sharon and a treasured grandad to Mark, Abbi, Jessica, Samantha and Aidan. Funeral Wednes-day, September 15. Would friends please meet at 1.00 p.m. for service in St. Mary's Church, Cockerton, followed by cremation at Darlington Crema-torium.

HINTON The Service of Celebration and Thanksgiving for the life of William Patrick who died on August 3, 2004 will be held on Saturday, September 25 at 11.30 a.m. in St Barnabas' Church, Linthorpe, Middles-brough.

HOCKING September 3 (suddenly, in hospital), of Tudhoe Lane, Spennymoor. Louisa Mary (nee Sokell), aged 78 years, beloved wife of Ronald, dear loved mother, dearest mother-in-law and a much loved gran. Cortege leaving residence Friday, at 10.35 a.m. Friends please meet at Durham Crematorium for service and cremation at 11.00 a.m.

HOFFMAN Margaret Simpson, aged 50 years, died on August 28, at home in Daytona Beach, Florida. Margaret had rapidly advancing symptoms of Motor Neuron Disease and since September 2003 had breathed by way of a ventilator. She was cared for 24 hours a day by her husband Rev'd. Stephen Hoffman and stepdaughter Meredith. Margaret was cherished by her mother Gladys Simpson of Richmond and brother and sister-in-law Paul and Ruth Simpson of West Arrathorne. Nephew and niece Daniel and Rebecca will miss their "Auntie Margaret". Margaret was a member of the faculty of Prior Pursglove College for 27 years where she was an esteemed colleague. Memorial services will be held on September 9 at 2.30 p.m., at Guisborough Methodist Church and Sunday, September 12 at 2.30 p.m. at Richmond Methodist Church. Memorial donations may be made to Hunton Methodist Chapel Building Fund.

HUDSON September 6 (suddenly in hospital), of Tees Close, Peterlee. Vance Thomas, aged 65 years, beloved husband of Evelyn, dearly loved father of Kevin and Dean, also devoted grandad of Adrian, Georgina, Sydney and Asia and dear brother of Ethel-Dreda and Veronica. Friends please meet for service, Lady of Rosary R.C. Church, Peterlee, on Friday at 10.00 a.m., followed by interment in Metalbridge Cemetery, West Cornforth. Refreshments afterwards at Peterlee Catholic Club.

HUTCHINSON September 8 (as the result of a tragic accident), of Jedburgh Drive, Darlington. Reg, aged 65 years, beloved husband of Eleanor, loving dad of Carol, Barbara, Mark and Martin, loving grandad of Sam and Poppy and loving brother of Ken, George, Phil and the late Doug. Will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral Thursday, September 16. Friends please meet for service at St. Mary's Church, Cockerton at 11.00 a.m., followed by private cremation. HUTCHINSON September 2, suddenly, (of Newton Aycliffe, formerly of Shildon). Brian, aged 72 years, beloved husband of Margaret, loving father of Michael, Ian and the late Colin and stepfather of Diana, Kevin and Jeremy also a much loved grand-father. The funeral service will take place on Monday, September 13, at 12.00 midday at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only. Will friends please meet for service in Howden-le-Wear Methodist Church at 11.00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, followed by cremation at Durham.

IVES September 4 (suddenly), of Brandon Lodge Nursing Home (formerly of New Brancepeth). Jennie, aged 87 years, beloved wife of the late George and a much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. To be received into St. John's Church, Meadowfields on Thursday, September 9, at 6.00 p.m., for Funeral Mass on Friday, September 10 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment in South Road Cemetery.

JACKSON August 31 (suddenly), at Malcolm Avenue, Quarrington Hill. Ellen (nee Barrass), aged 72 years, beloved wife of the late George, dearly loved mother of Heather, dearest mother-in-law of Paul and a much loved nanna of Louise. Cortege leaving residence Wednesday at 9.35 a.m. Friends please meet at Cassop Methodist Church for service at 9.45 a.m., followed by interment at Quarrington Hill Churchyard.

JACKSON September 8 (peacefully and with dignity, in hospital). Harrison, aged 73 years, of Darlington, beloved husband of Pat, loving dad of Hilary and Mark, a dear father-in-law, also an adored grandad of Lucy. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, September 15 at Elm Ridge Methodist Church at 12.15 p.m., prior to cremation at Darlington Crematorium. Friends invited, please meet at the Church. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if so desired, to St. Teresa's Hospice.

JONES Karen Margaret (Kaz) Died suddenly on Thursday, September 2, aged 50 years - gone to join her beloved mother Pat, leaving family and friends bereft by her loss. Adored partner of Clare and much loved sister of Valerie, Ian, Pebbs and Paula, beloved step-daughter of Syd, devoted aunt and great-aunt to Matthew, Rachel, Nicola, Ben, Ellie, Matthew and Ethan, a special friend to Julie and valued friend of so many. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, 9 September, 11.00 a.m. at St. Laurence's Church, Middleton St George, followed by a burial at St. George's Churchyard, Dinsdale. All flowers may be sent to Seaton Leng, Funeral Directors, Bondgate, Darlington.

KEMP Reverend Geoffrey, aged 83 years, on September 7, peacefully in hospital, following a distressing illness patiently borne, in Durham. Greatly missed by his loving family and friends. At his request a private family cremation. All his friends and colleagues are invited to share in a service of Celebration and Thanksgiving on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at 3.00 p.m. at North Road Methodist Church, Durham. LEWIS Barry James (Bazz), aged 58 years, dearly beloved husband of Sally, adored father of Layla and Victoria, died suddenly on Sunday, September 5, 2004.
