Will friends please meet for service in St. James' Church, Hamsterley at 1.00 p.m. on Friday, September 24, followed by interment in the churchyard. After this service, all are welcome to refreshment in The Cross Keys at Hamsterley.
ASKEW George W. Beloved uncle of Janet, Barry, Rachel and Christian. So much a part of our lives. We will miss you.

Alice (nee Shanks), aged 78 years, beloved wife of the late Robert Allan, a dearly loved mam of Jimmy, Audrey, Allan, Lillian and Colin, Bryan and Mary and a much loved nana and great-nana. Would friends please meet in St. Aidan's Church, Chilton Thursday for a service at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment in Chilton Cemetery.

BEESTON September 12 (suddenly at home), of The Presbytery, Brooklyn Road, Chilton (formerly of East Newbiggin Farm, Heighington). Tom, aged 66 years, much loved husband of Jennifer, a dear dad of James, Thomas and Steven. Would friends please meet for service at 11.15 a.m. on Friday in Darlington Crematorium Chapel.

BLAKE September 10 (suddenly, but very peacefully, in hospital), of Kelloe. Arthur, aged 82 years, beloved husband of the late Jenny, much loved dad of Sandra, Jennifer, David, Brian and Julie and a dearly loved granda and great-granda. Friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium Chapel on Thursday, September 16 at 2.00 p.m. Will be sadly missed

BOUSFIELD (Councillor) September 13, of Verdun Cottage, Helmington Row. Bell, aged 74 years, beloved wife of the late Alf, loving mother and mother-in-law of Ann and George, also a devoted sister, aunt and great-aunt. Friends please meet for service at Crook Central Methodist Church on Monday, September 20 at 11.00 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to the MARA Unit, Bishop Auckland General Hospital may be left in Chapel. Family and friends are welcome afterwards for refreshments at Helmington Row Village Hall.

BOWRON Elsie Mary, born in 1910 at Wheatley Hill, died September 8 in Darlington. She devoted her life to Nursing, first at the Royal Infirmary, Sunderland, then as Matron of Ryhope General Hospital until the early 70's. Sadly missed by her many friends and niece Marjorie. Cremation service will take place at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, September 17 at 1.45 p.m.

BOYD Edward (Ted) On September 15, peacefully in hospital. Ted, aged 84 years, of Eaglescliffe, a loving husband of Connie. Funeral service and cremation to take place in the Chapel of St. Bede, Teesside Crematorium on Wednesday, September 22 at 10.00 a.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium chapel.

BRITTON September 12 (at home after a short illness), of 2 Bates Avenue, Darlington. Vic, aged 65 years, dearly loved husband of Jackie and special grandad of Kerri, loving dad of Ges, Linsey, Debbie, Angela, Paul, Dawn and the late Gary, beloved brother, brother-in-law, grandad and uncle. Funeral service at St. Mary's Church, Cockerton at 11.00 a.m. on Monday, September 20, followed by interment at West Cemetery. Love You Always x

Friends please meet for Requiem Mass in St. Bede's R.C. Church, Sacriston on Thursday, September 16 at 9.00 a.m., followed by private cremation at Durham Crematorium. No flowers by request. BURN William, "Neil" aged 57 years, of Stotfold, Hertfordshire, formerly of Rumby Hill, Crook, died September 13, after a brave battle against illness. Husband of Melanie, father of Michael and Catherine, brother of Tony. Service at St Mary's Church, Stotfold. Family flowers only. CAPSTICK On September 12, peacefully, of Belmont, Durham. Janet, aged 96 years, beloved wife of the late Robert. Requiem Mass at St. Joseph's R.C Church, Gilesgate on Monday at 9.45 a.m.

CARMICHAEL Ross, died September 15, 2004, after a short illness. Son of Nigel and Marjorie and brother of Rae and Glenn. No funeral service. Friends please contact 467867 for details of Memorial.

COCKROFT Clara September 10, in Bannatyne Lodge Nursing Home, Peterlee (late of Victoria Street, Shotton). Clara, aged 91 years, dearly beloved wife of the late William John, a loving mother of Doreen, Jack, Margery and Elizabeth, a dear mother-in-law and also a devoted nana and great-nana. Cremation Durham Crematorium on Friday. Friends please accept this intimation and meet for service at St. Saviour's Church, Shotton at 1.30 p.m.

CROSBY September 8, of 23 Rectory Lane, Wolsing-ham. William, aged 90 years, dearly loved husband of the late Ester, dear brother of Muriel and Audrey and family Barry, Colin, Austin and Mary. Will friends and relatives please meet for service in Durham Crematorium on Wednes-day, September 15 at 11.00 a.m.

DAVEY Joyce, aged 84 years (formerly of Gilling Road, Richmond), peacefully at Morris Grange Nursing Home on September 9, 2004. Much loved wife of the late Kenneth Archibald Davey and mother of Simon Davey and the late Josephine Lycett. Funeral service in St. Mary's Church, Richmond on Friday, September 24 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment in Richmond Cemetery. Elizabeth "Lizzie" (nee Hamilton), aged 91 years, loving wife of the late Jack, dearly loved mam, gran, great-gran, great-great-gran and mother-in-law. ELLIOTT Keith, aged 64 years, of Hipswell, died peacefully in hospital on September 10. Dearly loved husband of Barbara, much loved dad of Linda and Shaun and treasured grandad of Danielle and Chloe. Who will be sadly missed. Funeral service in St. John's Church, Hipswell on Friday, September 17 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in the cemetery. Friends please meet at the church.

Sylvia, aged 88 years, beloved wife of the late Raymond, dearest mother of David, Gerald and the late Sandra, also a dear mother-in-law, grandma and great-grandma. Would friends please meet for service at Willington Methodist Chapel on Friday, September 17 at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment in Willington Cemetery.

EMMS Myra On September 13, peacefully, in hospital after a long illness borne with courage and dignity. Myra, aged 67 years, beloved wife of the late Jack. Will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Funeral service to be held at Northallerton Methodist Church on Monday, September 20 at 12.15 p.m., followed by committal at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please. FAWCETT September 14 (peacefully at home), of Gormire Close, Thirsk. Rosie, aged 75 years, beloved wife of Lawrence, loving mother of David and Ann, a dear mother-in-law and grandmother. The funeral service will be held at All Saints' Church, Thirsk on Tuesday, September 21 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment.

FINES On September 16, peacefully (of Darlington). Brenda, aged 63 years, beloved wife of Brian, loving mum of Jeremy and Helen, mother-in-law of Jo and Peter and adored gran of Lauren, Dominic and Polly. A service of Thanksgiving will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2.00 p.m. at St. Columbus Church, Clifton Road. All friends are welcome. No flowers by request. Donations in lieu, if so desired, may be made to St. Teresa's Hospice (in church).

FIRBY September 16, of Ramshaw. Lilian (nee Wallis), aged 72 years, devoted wife of the late Jack, also a dearly loved sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Cortege to leave Ramshaw Row at 11.50 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22 for service in St. Paul's Church, Evenwood at 12.00 noon, followed by interment in Evenwood cemetery. Will friends please meet at church.

FOGGITT September 13 (peacefully in hospital), of Thirsk. William (Bill), aged 91 years, beloved son of the late Elizabeth and Ben, a dear uncle and great-uncle. The funeral service will be held at St. James' Methodist Church, Thirsk on Friday, September 17 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment. Would friends please meet at the church.
