Elizabeth (Betty), aged 88 years, devoted wife of the late Jack, dear mother of Barbara, Joan and John, a dear mother-in-law, also loving nana of Adrian, Carey, Tom and Beth. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium at 12.00 noon on Tuesday, October 12. Donations, in lieu of flowers if desired, may be left at the crematorium for the Macmillan Nurses.

ROBSON Lewis, aged 85 years, of Kings Court Care Home, Barnard Castle, formerly of Dale Road, Barnard Castle, died peacefully in hospital on September 28. Much loved soul mate of Pat and a dearly loved dad and grandad. "His smile will always be remembered". Funeral Service at Barnard Castle Methodist Church on Thursday, October 7 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment at Ovingham, Northum-berland. Friends please meet at the church. Family flowers only. If desired, donations may be given in church for the Friends of The Richardson Hospital, Barnard Castle.

ROWELL (nee Ward) October 7, of 33 Paragon Street, Stanhope. Judith, aged 47 years, dearly loved wife of David, loving mother of Christopher, daughter-in-law of Joan, much loved daughter of Marion and the late Billy and a dear sister of Angela and sister-in-law of Trevor. Would friends please meet for service in Stanhope Methodist Chapel on Tuesday, October 12 at 2.15 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, to be shared between the Cheshire Home, Crook and the Methodist Chapel. Plate provided in the Chapel.

RUTTER Robert, on October 1, in the Friary Hospital with his family with him, of Fremington Hall, Fremington. Robert, aged 84 years, dearly loved husband of Jennie, very dear father of David, Joyce and the late Gordon, much loved father-in-law of Pam and Tony and loving grandad of Tony, Beverley, Matthew and Jonathan. Funeral service to be held at Reeth Methodist Chapel on Tuesday, October 5 at 2.00 p.m., followed by private interment at Grinton Cemetery. Family flowers only please, however, donations in memory of Robert, if so desired, may be given at the service for chapel funds and Marie Curie Cancer Care. Will friends please meet at the chapel and accept this intimation.

Dennis, aged 85 years, beloved husband of the late Lilian (Lily), dearly loved father of Lilian, Michael, Kathleen, Jim and Denise, dearest father-in-law and a much loved grandad. Cortege leaving residence Wednesday at 10.15 a.m. Friends please meet at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church, Shotton for Requiem Mass at 10.30 a.m., followed by interment at Fleming Fields. SMITH October 3 (peacefully, in hospital after a brief illness), of Freville Street, Shildon. Betty, (nee Slack), aged 75 years. A dearly loved wife of Eddie, a devoted mother of Christine and mother-in-law of Graham, a much loved sister of Robert, also of the late Cathie and Pearl, a dearly loved auntie. Interment Monday October 11 in Shildon Cemetery. Cortege leaving residence at 1.50 p.m. for service in St. John's Church, Shildon at 2.00 p.m. Friends please meet at church. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers may be left at church for church funds.

Robert (Bob), aged 82 years, beloved husband of Molly, dearly loved and respected father of Angela, Elizabeth, Kevin, Andrew, Jonathan and Joanne and a much loved father-in-law, grandad and great-grandad. Funeral Friday. Friends please meet for Requiem Mass in Holy Family Church, Cockerton at 10.45 a.m., followed by cremation.

STEPHENSON October 4 (suddenly), of Toronto, Bishop Auckland. Richard, aged 35 years. Loving son of Maureen and the late Thomas, dearly loved brother of Paul, much loved parnter of Caroline, dearest uncle of Jenny and Emily, also a dear nephew. Friends please meet for service in St. Anne's Church, Bishop Auckland on Monday, October 11, at 12.00 noon, followed by interment in Rosemount Cemetery.

STOREY September 26, suddenly in hospital. Lee, aged 39 years, dearly loved son of the late Jim and Liz Storey, treasured father to Devan. Will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral Wednesday, October 6. Would friends please meet 3.15 p.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium. Flowers to be sent to Darlington Co-operative Funeral Service, 50 St. Cuthberts Way, Darlington. Donations, if desired, to go to Darlington I.T.U., Darlington Memorial Hospital.

TERRY John Owen, aged 82 years, of Meadowfield Road, Colburn, died peacefully, in hospital on October 7, after an illness bravely borne. Dearly loved husband of Nancy, much loved dad of Malcolm, Jennifer, Michael and Christine, dear father-in-law to Freda, Dave and Roger and a loving grandad and great-grandad. Funeral service at Colburn Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 13 at 11.30 a.m., followed by interment in Hipswell Cemetery. Friends please meet at the Church.

THOMAS September 30, peacefully in hospital. Cliff, aged 78 years, loving husband of Madge, dearly loved father, father-in-law, grandad and great-grandad. Funeral Friday, October 8. Would friends please meet 11.15 a.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium.

THOMPSON Alan, almost 76, suddenly at home on October 1, of Hylton Road, Newton Hall. Dearly loved Dad of Philip and Gillian and much missed by ex wife Doreen, beloved brother to Ann and Billy, brother-in-law to David and Nancy.
