STEAD High Pittington Peacefully in hospital on October 8, aged 81 years, Ron, the devoted husband of the late Doris, a much loved dad of David, Robert, Anne, Diane and Susan, also a loving grandad. Ron will be sadly missed by all his loving family and friends. Friends please meet at St. John's Methodist Church, High Pittington on Thursday, October 14, at 1.15 p.m. for service prior to interment in Hallgarth church yard.

STEPHENS Rebekah Died, October 9 (tragically, as a result of an accident). Rebekah, aged 21 years, of York, formerly of Bedale, a much loved daughter of Mark and Karen and sister to James and Sarah, also a dear granddaughter and friend to many. Funeral service and interment to be held at St. Gregory's Church, Bedale on Monday, October 18 at 2.00 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to be shared between the Samaritans and P.D.S.A., a plate will be in church.

STOBBS October 7 (peacefully at home with dignity and courage, surrounded by his loving family). Joe, of Walcher Road, Newton Aycliffe, aged 78 years, beloved husband of Vera, adored father of Brenda, Barbara and Gillian, dear father-in-law of Alan, John and Jeff, much loved granda of Emma, Leigh-Ann, Michael, Adam, Scott and Elliott, a very special great-granda to Sonny. Funeral Friday, October 15. Will friends please meet 3.00 p.m. for service at Durham Crematorium. Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, may be left at the crematorium for the Prostate Cancer Charity.

SUTHERLAND October 9, peacefully at Rydal Care Home, Darlington. Greta (nee Gowling), aged 79 years, a much loved mam and nanna. Funeral Monday, October 18. Would friends please meet 9.45 a.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium.

TANNER On October 13, peacefully at Rosedale Nursing Home, Catterick Garrison, formerly of Breconside, Muker and Leven Road, Norton. Elizabeth (nee Allen), aged 95 years, dearly loved wife of the late Jack Tanner, very dear mam of John, Margaret and Pat, much loved mother-in-law of Nadine, Mike and Alec, a loving grandma and great-grandma. Funeral service to be held at St. Mary's Church, Muker tomorrow, Saturday, October 16 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment in the churchyard. Family flowers only please. However, donations in memory of Elizabeth, if so desired, may be given at the service for Church Funds. Will friends please meet at the church and accept this intimation.

TERRY John Owen, aged 82 years, of Meadowfield Road, Colburn, died peacefully, in hospital on October 7, after an illness bravely borne. Dearly loved husband of Nancy, much loved dad of Malcolm, Jennifer, Michael and Christine, dear father-in-law to Freda, Dave and Roger and a loving grandad and great-grandad. Funeral service at Colburn Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 13 at 11.30 a.m., followed by interment in Hipswell Cemetery. Friends please meet at the Church.

THIRLAWAY October 14 (peacefully at Hartlepool Hospice), of Bruce Crescent, Wingate. Peter, aged 66 years, beloved husband of Margaret, dearly loved dad of Peter and Susan, also a loving brother and uncle. Cortege leaving residence, Tuesday, 11.45 a.m. for Requiem Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes, Shotton at 12.00 noon, followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only please. TROUGHTON William (Billy) On October 12, of Manisty Terrace, Easington. Billy, aged 64 years. Dearly beloved son of the late Leo and Margaret and also a dear cousin. TUNSTALL Arnold Robert Thomas, aged 71 years, of West Lowfields, Bowes (formerly of Lyndale House), died peacefully in hospital on October 9. Much loved husband of the late Hope, loving dad of Denise and Christopher, father-in-law of Davina and special grandad to Harry. Sadly missed by all family and friends. Would friends please meet for funeral service at St. Giles Church, Bowes on Friday, October 15 at 11.45 a.m., followed by interment. Family flowers only please. He always remembered his many friends in County Durham and treasured the thirty five years he and Polly lived there.
