ORR May 7, in Howden Burn Nursing Home, Lanchester. John Dickson, aged 76 years, beloved husband of Betty, devoted father of Elizabeth and Margaret, a much loved and loving grandfather, also a dear brother. Will friends please meet for service in Mountsett Crema-torium, Stanley/Consett at 2.00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14. Family flowers only. Donations may, if desired, be left at the crematorium for the Residents' Fund at Howden Burn Nursing Home.

PARKIN John Thomas On May 7, of 6 Ryan Terrace, Wheatley Hill. John, aged 82 years, a dearly beloved husband of Doreen and loving father of Frank and the late Colin, dear father-in-law of Pam, also a devoted grandad, great-grandad and uncle. Cremation Durham Crematorium on Wednesday. Friends please accept this intimation and meet for service at the crematorium at 10.00 a.m. Family flowers only. Bus provided.

PATTINSON May 2, peacefully at home, Coundon, Bishop Auckland, Jean, aged 70 years, beloved wife of Kenneth, dearly loved mam of June, dear mother-in-law to John, also a much loved and loving nana to Daniel and Joanne. Cortege to leave her daughter's residence at 10.55 a.m. on Monday, May 12 for service in St. James' Church, Coundon at 11.10 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Will friends please meet at church.

PEACOCK David Scott Williamson (Scott), aged 36 years, at Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham, England after a twenty year battle with illness. Youngest son of Agnes (deceased) and Jim. Loved brother of Stuart (Odensse, Denmark), Alan (Newton Aycliffe) and Liz (Coonabarabran, Australia) and their respective partners Tina, Bente and Colin. He will be sadly missed by his Newton Aycliffe nephew Ross and niece Danielle and remembered fondly by his Danish nephew Mads and niece Fie and Australian nieces Shona and Katrina. Also Bella, a very special friend. Please meet at West Cemetery Chapel, Darlington Crematorium for funeral service 1.15 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2003. Battled bravely and lost, finally at peace in God's pain free care.

PORTER-MERRY Joan, aged 86 years, died peacefully on May 3, in Scarborough General Hospital (formerly of Reeth). Dearly loved wife of the late George, a dear mother of Ian, Jean and the late Sandra and special mum-in-law to Sylvia, Nigel and John, a loving grandma to Laura, Rebecca, Thomas, Georgina and Alexander. Funeral and cremation service on Tuesday, May 13 at 2.00 p.m. at Woodlands. Friends please meet at crematorium. Family flowers only. Donations if desired please for British Heart Foundation, plate provided. Resting at B. Bernard and Sons.

RAYNER Delves April 30, aged 72 years. Jean, dear wife of the late Joe, loving mother and mother-in-law of Derek and Lynn, devoted gran of Paul and Michelle, great-gran to all the family. Friends please meet at Consett Parish Church on Wednesday May 7, at 12.30 p.m. for service prior to interment at Blackhill Cemetery 1.15 p.m.
