Friends please meet for service St. Mary's Church, Shincliffe on Thursday at 10.15 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to Durham Centre for people with learning difficulties, c/o P.F.A.

ROGERSON October 21 (tragically), of Ferryhill (formerly of Newton Aycliffe). Stuart, aged 30 years, dearly loved husband of Michelle, dear dad of Gemma, Jamie and Angel, a much loved son of John and Heather, also dear son-in-law of Dennis and Anne. SPENCER Arnold, aged 84 years, of St. Edmund's Close, Brompton-on-Swale, formerly of Salutation Road, Darlington, died peacefully in hospital on October 22. Beloved husband of the late Jean, much loved dad of Lynn and John, dear father-in-law to Mike, loving grandad of Corri-Ann Jean and Michelle and great-grandad of Maikaily, Björn and Britney. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, October 29 at 11.15 a.m. Family flowers only please. Friends please meet at the crematorium chapel.

STONES October 23 (suddenly, in Lindisfarne Nursing Home), of Long Acres, Gilesgate, Durham. Arthur William, aged 81 years. Dearly loved husband of Elizabeth (Betty), beloved father of John and Barbara, loving father-in-law of Gun and John and devoted grandad of Anna, Michael and Peter and sadly missed brother of Gladys. Friends please meet for service at St. Gile's Church, Gilesgate on Tuesday at 1.00 p.m. followed by cremation at Durham.

TAYLOR October 26, peacefully, in Church View Care Home, formerly of St. Pauls Gardens, Spennymoor. Ethel, aged 84 years. Beloved wife of Wilf, a dearly loved mam, of Robert, Derek and Neil, a dear mother-in-law and a much loved nana. Would friends please meet at Durham Crematorium, Monday for a service and committal at 12.00 noon.

TAYLOR October 23 (suddenly), of Front Street, Tudhoe. Paul, aged 79 years, a dearly loved brother-in-law and a dear uncle and great-uncle. Would friends please meet at Durham Crematorium Thursday for a service and committal at 12.00 noon. Distance takes us far apart and darkens our today. We have to keep remembering you're just a thought away.

THOMPSON Wyn (Retired Newsagent). Wife of the late Doug Thompson. Died peacefully in her daughter's arms on Sunday, October 24, 2004.
