Funeral service at St. Anne's Church, Catterick Village on Tuesday, December 21 at 1.30 p.m., followed by interment in the cemetery. Friends please meet at the church. MAUGHAN December 13, of St. Margaret's Nursing Home (formerly of Bearpark). Ellen (nee Foster), aged 83 years, beloved wife of the late James Wilfred and a dear mam of Pauline. Friends please meet for service in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Ushaw Moor on Friday, December 17 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in the churchyard. R.I.P.

METCALFE Fred, aged 64 years, of Green Lane, Barnard Castle, died suddenly at home on December 15. Beloved son of the late Ernest and Mary Metcalfe and much loved by cousin Pauline and her family. MITCHELL David Charles, aged 33 years, of Scorton, died peacefully in hospital on December 9, after an illness borne with great courage and dignity. A truly amazing and inspirational person who was the much loved husband of Svenya and very special daddy of Seren Eve, beloved and most precious only son of Maureen and Tom and heroic little brother of Helen and Catherine. Funeral service at St. Michael and All Angels' Church, Middleton Tyas on Sunday, December 19 at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment in the churchyard. Friends please meet at the church. Sylvia Cathlyn (nee Lowes), aged 86 years, beloved wife of the late James (former Chief Constable of Tynemouth Police) and a loving aunt to Christine and Elizabeth. Friends invited to service at St. Peter's Church, Monkseaton on Thursday, December 16 at 11.45 a.m., cremation following at Tynemouth Crema-torium.
