Will be sadly missed by all the family. Funeral service to take place on Friday, December 24, 10.30 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Newton Aycliffe, followed by private cremation. R.I.P.

BURKE December 18, peacefully in Darlington. Ida (retired nursing sister and tutor at the R.V.I. and Freeman Hospital, Newcastle), dearly loved daughter of the late Eleanor and John Burke (Durham). Joyce, aged 76 years, dearly beloved wife of Alf, dearly loved mother of Glenda and Caraline, dear mother-in-law of Andy and Andrew and a loving nana to David, Jonathan and Grace. Funeral Thursday, December 30. Friends please meet for service in St. Mark's Church at 1.00 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington Crematorium. CAYGILL Gladys, of Staindrop, died at home on December 19, after a short illness bravely borne. Loving wife of Bill, precious mam of Stephen, special mother-in-law to Dilys, devoted gran of Matthew and Helene and a beloved sister and friend of many. Funeral service at St. Mary's Church, Staindrop on Friday, December 24 at 12.45 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington. Friends please meet at the church. No flowers by request. CHAMBERS Edward Lewis (Ted, retired Chiropodist D.C.C.), aged 81 years, of Cockfield, formerly of Lanchester, died on December 14, following an accident. Beloved husband of the late Lily Chambers and a dear brother-in-law, uncle and friend of many. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Thursday, December 23 at 3.45 p.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium chapel. Donations in lieu of flowers, for Cancer Research UK, may be given at the crematorium chapel or sent c/o Smith Roddam Solicitors, Corner Chambers, Market Place, Crook, Co. Durham.

CHAPLIN On December 15, as the result of an accident, of Borrowby. David Gilbert, aged 61 years, dearly loved husband of Jean, loving father of Andrew and Jeremy and a dear father-in-law, grandad and brother. Funeral service to be held in St. Mary's Church, Leake on Thursday, December 23 at 12.00 noon, followed by cremation. Family flowers only. Donations, if wished, may be given for the charitable work in Nepal.

CHARLTON On December 18 (peacefully at home), of Bevan Crescent, Wheatley Hill. George, aged 98 years, retired employee of Sherburn Hill Co-op. Beloved husband of the late Mary Jane (May), devoted dad of Raymond and dearest grandad of Dawn. COULSON December 17 (peacefully), of Bishop Auckland. Jack, aged 79 years, loving husband of the late Kathleen, dear stepfather of Walter and Brenda, also a dearest brother. DOUGLAS Jon, aged 14 years, of Cockfield, passed away peacefully at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle, after a short illness. Beloved son of John and Barbara, much loved brother to Janie, Sarah, Marc, Annie, Michael and Mal and a dear friend to all who knew him. Friends please meet for service in Cockfield Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 29 at 2.00 p.m., followed by private cremation. Family flowers only. DUNN John (Jack) Of Ludworth, died bravely on December 20, after a long suffering in hospital. Beloved husband of the late Lavinia, father of David, Jean, Eric and Heather, a much loved grandfather and great-grandfather and a well respected member of the community. Special thanks from the family to John and Thomas on Ward 1, University Hospital North Durham for their kindness and support during the hours of need. Funeral to take place on Thursday, December 30.
