Friends and family welcome for refreshments at Close House W.M.C. after the service.

DODDS January 22 (in hospital), of 5 Potterhouse Terrace, Pity Me, Durham. Bertie, aged 83 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Minnie, also dear dad of Ward and Vera, Margaret and John, also a loving grandad and great-grandad. DUFFILL Desmond (Des) B.E.M., Warrant Officer R.A.F. Regiment ret'd., aged 82 years, of Ash Croft, Catterick Village, formerly of Bridlington, East Yorkshire, died peacefully at the Friary Hospital, Richmond on January 26, after a short illness and surrounded by his family. Dearly loved husband of the late Bridie, much loved dad of Stephen, Margaret, Angela, Cathleen and Andrew, loving father-in-law to Shelly, Jim, Stuart and Carol, beloved grandad to Andrew, Philip, Louise, David, Iain, Robert, Shona, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Bridie and Jacob, a much loved and loving great-grandad and dear brother to Pat, Catherine and the late Anne. To be received into St. Joseph and St. Francis Xavier R.C. Church, Richmond on Thursday, February 3 at 5.30 p.m. Requiem Mass on Friday, February 4 at 10.00 a.m., followed by a service at Our Lady and St. Peter's R.C. Church, Bridlington at 1.30 p.m., prior to interment in Bridlington Cemetery. Friends please meet at the church. FINNIGAN January 21, of 8 Cypress Park, Esh Winning. Brian, aged 65 years, dearly loved husband of Rhoda (nee Thompson), respected and much loved father of Annette and David, father-in-law of Tim, devoted grandad of Mark, Matthew and Kyle and longed for and adored granddaughter Amy, also brother to Vincent, brother-in-law to Maureen, Ellen, Don and the late Jack and Vera and a dear cousin and uncle. Friends please meet for Requiem Mass in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs' Church on Friday, January 28 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in Parkwood Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers may be given after the service for Cancer Research UK. Bus provided from church to the cemetery.

Mary (nee Perry), aged 83 years, beloved wife of the late Harry, loving mam of Joan, mother-in-law of Syd and a much loved nan of Peter, John and partner Jan. FRENCH January 27, peacefully at home, in Shildon. Robert (Bob), aged 77 years, cherished husband of Audrey, loving and caring father and father-in-law of Jackie and Geoff, dear stepfather of Alan and Chris, a very dearly loved grandad and great-grandad, brother and brother-in-law, also a dear friend. Will friends please meet for service in Shildon Methodist Church at 9.50 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, followed by cremation at Darlington. No flowers by request. If desired, donations in lieu may be left at the church for Macmillan Cancer Care.

GIBSON Durham. The funeral of the late Thomas Ian will take place in Durham Crematorium on Thursday February 3, 11.30 a.m. Will be sadly missed by Carol, Gillian, grandchildren and family.

GIBSON Mary Gibson, aged 91 years, formerly of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada, died peacefully in Chilliwack Hospital on January 12. She was the second wife of John Gibson, Ellerton Manor, Scorton, until his death in 1987. Dear step-mother to Barbara, Susan, Audrey, Jean and Phoebe and many step-grandchildren. There will be a service of remembrance in Scorton Chapel at 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, for those in Scorton who wish to remember Mary's life.

GRAHAM Alfred aged 79, husband of the late Jean much loved father grandfather, father-in-law and friend, sadly passed away 21st January 2005 funeral to take place at St. Cuthberts Church, Durham, Monday 31st January 2005 at 2.00pm followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium at 2.30pm. All welcome.

GREAVES On January 25, of Commercial Street, Brandon. Peter, aged 70 years, beloved husband of the late Lily, much loved dad of Fiona, John and Peter, a dearly loved granda of Frances, James and Ben and a loving brother. Would friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium Chapel on Wednesday, February 2 at 10.30 a.m.

GREY January 22, of Crook. Freda, aged 84 years. Beloved wife of Thomas, loving sister of Cath and also a dear sister-in-law, aunt and dearly loved friend. Friends please meet for service at St. Catherine's Church, Crook on Monday January 31, at 2.00 p.m. Interment to follow.

HALL of Willington. George (Mitch), aged 69 years. Loving husband of Doreen, dear dad of Jill, Clifton and Gabriella, Colin and Michelle, also grandad of Emily. Would friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Wednesday February 2, at 3.00 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations for Breast Cancer Research if desired may be left after the service.

HAMMOND January 23, in hospital, after a long illness borne with courage and dignity, of Darlington. Stuart, aged 60 years (former Licencee of The George (Bondgate), The Moorcock (Peterlee) and The Brinkburn Public Houses), dearly loved husband of Irene, much loved dad of Jacqueline, Allison and Christopher and a loving grandad of David, Sarah, Victoria and Chloe and a dear son-in-law of May. Funeral Tuesday, February 1. Friends please meet for service in St. Cuthbert's Church at 1.15 p.m., followed by interment at West Cemetery.

HARBURN Louie, aged 92 years, formerly of Cornwall Avenue, Darlington, died peacefully at the Terrace Care Home, Richmond on January 25. Beloved wife of the late George and a much loved aunt and great-aunt. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Tuesday, February 1 at 10.15 a.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium chapel. HARRISON Gwendolen Bulmer (Gwen). On January 21, peacefully in Southwoods Nursing Home, Northallerton. Gwen, aged 96 years (former teacher at Durham High School for Girls), late of Framwellgate Moor, Durham. Fondly remembered by niece Susan, nephew David and families. Funeral service to be held at St. Hilda's Chapel, Teesside Crematorium on Friday, January 28 at 2.45 p.m. Family flowers only please.

HEATH Anne (Monica), aged 68 years, of Ferryhill, passed away peacefully in hospital, January 26. Loving wife of the late Ronnie, a dearly loved mam of Tim, Michael and Peter, a special grandma to Emma, Paul and Daniel, loving sister of the late Kate, Bernard, Wilf, Mary and Jim, also a kind and loving mother-in-law and aunt.
