Dearly loved husband of Ann, much loved dad of Andrew, dear father-in-law of Susan, loving grandad of Hayley, Emily, Liam and Benjamin, dearly loved son of Margaret, son-in-law of Ena and a very dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Funeral service in Cockfield Methodist Chapel on Wednesday, March 23 at 10.45 a.m., followed by cremation at Darlington. Friends please meet at the chapel. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, may be given in the chapel for the Macmillan Nurses and Cockfield Surgery.

SCOTT March 14, (peacefully), at Greenfield House Nursing Home, Newton Aycliffe, (formerly of Heighington). Irene May (nee Sayer), aged 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Gerald, loving mother to Grenville, David, Susan and the late Christine, also a dearly loved grandma. Funeral Wednesday March 23. Would friends please meet 1.15 p.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium.

SEYMOUR March 16, of Beaurepaire, Bearpark. Lizzie, aged 88 years, beloved wife of the late Joe, dearly loved mother of Robert, Stan, Miriam and Jane, mother-in-law of Hazel, Ann and Bernard and a loving gran and great-gran. Friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Thursday, March 24 at 2.30 p.m. No flowers by request. Donations in lieu may be given after the service for Ward 1, University Hospital of North Durham.

SHAW Died March 9, aged 92 years, of Durham. Elsie Margaret (nee Smith), missed by all friends and family. Service at Durham Crematorium on Monday, March 21 at 3.30 p.m. No flowers, no mourning.

SHERWOOD Rita (formerly Woodruff). Born November 16, 1920, died March 4, 2005. of Welwyn, Hertfordshire, (formerly of Sedgefield). Wife to Jerry, mother to Dawn, Wendy and Kevin, sister to Eleanor. Funeral today March 15.

SINGLETON March 17, of Mount Pleasant, Stanley, Crook. Dennis, aged 59 years, beloved husband of Valerie, a dearly loved father of Deborah and Calvin, a dear father-in-law of Mike and a loving grandfather of Matthew. Friends please meet for service in Wooley Terrace Methodist Church on Thursday, March 24 at 10.00 a.m., followed by interment in Crook Cemetery. Family flowers only.

SLATER March 14, at her son's home, in Salisbury, formerly of Alnwick Close, Ferryhill. Edith (nee Jones), aged 85 years, dearly beloved wife of the late Sidney, dearly loved mother of Margaret, Sarah, Elizabeth, Laurence and Kathleen, also a much loved mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral Thursday, March 24. Would friends please meet at 11.00 a.m. for service in St. Luke's Church, Ferryhill, followed by interment in Duncombe Cemetery.

Loving husband of Jenny, a dearly loved dad of Maureen, Kenneth and Lovaine and a dear father-in-law and a much loved granda. Would friends please meet in St. Paul's Church, Spennymoor, Thursday for a service at 8.45 a.m. followed by committal at Durham Crematorium.

SNOWDON Keturah (Kitty), of Etherley, formerly of Beechburn Farm, High Grange, aged 96 years. Dearly beloved wife of the late Ralph Snowdon and devoted mother of Jean, Sybil and Keith, dearest mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to the late Charlotte and Fred. passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17, surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends please meet for service in Etherley Methodist Church at 12.30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, followed by interment in Witton-le-Wear Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu may be left at the church for the Residents' Fund at The Fields Home, Etherley.

Cremation Thursday March 24, at Durham. Cortege leaving her son Alberts residence at 10.50 a.m. for a service in St. Catherine's Church, Crook at 11.00 a.m. Friends please meet at church.

THOMPSON March 13 (peacefully, at home), of 3 Bellwood Terrace, Leadgate. Elizabeth Alder, (nee Montgomery), aged 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Albert, dear mother of Derek, Brian and David, mother-in-law of Judith, Maureen and Margaret, loving gran to Heather and Jay, John Paul, Jackie, Kate and Andrew and Tracy. Friends please meet for service at Mountsett Crematorium on Monday March 21, at 1.15 p.m. All welcome back to The Plough afterwards. Family flowers only please. William (Bill), aged 78 years, beloved husband of Heather, dearly loved brother of Jean and Donald and the late Maurice, John and Gordon and a much loved uncle and brother-in-law. Funeral service at St. Matthew's Church, Leyburn on Thursday, March 17 at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment at Leyburn Cemetery. Family flowers only please. WARDELL John, on March 14, unexpectedly in hospital, husband and soul mate of Ann, daddy to Emma, Derdy to Jackson, indulged little brother to Gill, adored big brother to Hilary and slightly younger other half of twin Jacqueline, brother-in-law to David, Brian, Christine, Derek and Irene, honourable son-in-law to Jack and a much loved uncle. How will we live without him? A humanist service will take place at Durham Crematorium on Tuesday at 11.30 a.m. and afterwards at the Castle Eden Inn, Castle Eden Village, Durham. Will friends and relatives please meet at the crematorium. John was many things to many people and we would like to ask anyone who would care to say a few words or leave us a photo or a poem etc., to add to our memories of John, to do so at this service. No flowers please, but please make a contribution to Comic Relief instead if you wish to, care of Ann. Resting at Speckman's Funeral Home, Wingate.

YOULL On March 13, suddenly but peacefully at home in Romanby, Northallerton. John, dearly loved husband of Marlene. Funeral service and cremation at Darlington Crematorium, 2.15 p.m. Thursday, March 17.

ADAMS March 20, formerly of Station Road, Thirsk. Flora, aged 92 years, beloved wife of the late Eric, a dear mother, nana and great-nana.
