THOMPSON (nee Holloway). Freda, March 24, 2005, died peacefully in hospital in Somerset after a short illness. Much loved and missed by Barbara, Kirsty and Jamie, Lynn, Marcus, Corey and Georgia. Reunited with George and David.

THOMPSON March 26 (in hospital, after a long illness), of Spenceley Place, Aldbrough-St-John. Colin, aged 74 years, a dear brother and uncle. Will be sadly missed by all. Funeral Wednesday, April 6. Will friends please meet for service 1.45 p.m. at Darlington Crematorium.

THOMPSON March 24 (in hospital), of The Grange, Darlington. Evelyn Louisa, aged 88 years, wife of the late Harold, dearly loved mam of Brenda, Tina, Peter, Kennie, Gerald and Brian, dear mother-in-law and a much loved grandma and great-grandma. Funeral Friday. Would friends kindly meet for service at Darlington Crematorium at 11.15 a.m. Flowers may be sent to Seaton Leng and Son Ltd., Funeral Directors, 59a Bondgate, Darlington, Co. Durham. Funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Church, Easington Village Monday, April 4 at 10.00 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium at 11.00 a.m. Friends please meet at Church. Donations in lieu of flowers to the First Easington Guides and Brownies c/o Kathleen Murray.

WHELAN March 22, suddenly but peacefully at home, in Hornby. Tony, aged 76 years, beloved husband of the late Kate, loving father of Nick and Sally and dearest grandad to Georgina. Margaret, aged 71 years, beloved wife of the late Robert, a loving mam of Albert, Robert, George, Subenna and Douglas, also a much loved mother-in-law and nanna. Funeral Tuesday, April 5. Will friends please meet for service 2.00 p.m. at St. John's Church, Darlington, prior to interment in the East Cemetery, Darling-ton.

A dearly loved wife of the late Sam and a loving mother of Christine and Ruth, a dear mother-in-law of Alan and Vic and much loved grandmother and great-grandmother. Funeral Thursday. Friends please meet for service at Darlington Crematorium at 9.45 a.m.

WOODS March 25, peacefully in hospital, of Blandford Street, Ferryhill. Edith, aged 73 years, dearly loved wife of John George, loving mam of Michael and Renie, dearest mother-in-law of Kath and Jeff, devoted grandma of Lindsey, Ashley, Jason, Wayne and Sarah and also a dear great-grandma of Emily Rebecca. Would friends please meet for service at the Methodist Chapel, Ferryhill on Friday at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment at Duncombe Cemetery.

WRENN On March 26, suddenly, at 10 Hargill, Harmby. Chris (HJJ), aged 79 years, beloved husband of Jean, dearly loved father of Sue and Phil, a very dear father-in-law and much loved grandad of Mairi and Sally. Funeral service at St. Michael and All Angels' Church, Spennithorne on Monday, April 4 at 1.00 p.m., followed by private cremation. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to be shared between Church Funds and the British Heart Foundation (plate in church). Friends please meet at the church.

WRIGHTSON March 28. Marian (nee Swinbank), aged 95 years, died peacefully at Beaconsfield Court Care Home, Barnard Castle. Sadly missed by family and friends. Would friends please meet for funeral service at Barnard Castle Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 5 at 1.45 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please. APPLEBY Norman, aged 70 years, of Bulford (late of Haswell), died March 31, dearest husband, father and brother. Funeral Thursday, April 7, 9.45 a.m., at Salisbury Crematorium.

ATKINSON March 30 (suddenly at home). Mavis, aged 72 years, of Watson Road, Newton Aycliffe, a much loved mother of Charlotte and Kevin, also a sadly missed nana of Luke and cousin of Ann. BARNINGHAM On April 2 (peacefully at Leeming Garth, after a long and difficult illness bravely borne), of Bromakin Grange, Leeming. Simon (Sam), aged 67 years, dearly loved husband of Barbara and very dear dad of David. Funeral service to be held at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, April 8 at 11.45 a.m. Family flowers only please, however, donations in memory of Sam, if so desired, may be given at the service for Leeming Garth Care Home. Will friends please meet at the crematorium and accept this intimation.

BURKHILL April 2, peacefully in the Lambert Hospital. William Edmund (Ted), aged 79 years, of Thirsk, formerly of York. Beloved husband of Joyce, loving dad of Anne and Barbara, father-in-law of Bill and Kevin, the best grandad to Michael, Michelle, Claire and Keri, loving great-grandad, brother, uncle and good friend to many. Family flowers only by request. Friends please meet for service at York Crematorium on Thursday, April 7 at 1.30 p.m.

CAMPBELL March 23 (peacefully, in hospital with his family at his side). Arthur Lamond, aged 80 years, of The Oaklands, Middleton-One-Row. Beloved husband of the late Ida, loving father of Yvonne, father-in-law of David, grandfather of Stuart and Claire and great-grandfather of Elliott and Millie. A Memorial Service will be held in St Laurences' Church, Middleton-St-George on April 8, at 11.00 a.m. followed by the interment of ashes. Family and friends welcome afterwards for refreshments at Dinsdale Spa Golf Club.

CLARKE March 29. Kenneth, aged 76 years, late of Shildon, brother of Edward, brother-in-law of Anne and uncle of Audrey. Would friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Thursday, April 7 at 11.00 a.m.

COLWELL April 3, of Quarry Crescent, Bearpark. Sarah Ann, aged 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Leonard and will be sadly missed by all her family. Friends please meet for service in Bearpark Methodist Church on Friday, April 8, at 1.30 p.m. followed by interment in Ushaw Moor Cemetery. Friends welcome for refreshments in the school room afterwards.

COWEN On March 30, suddenly in hospital, of Plumtree Cottage, Constable Burton (formerly of Leyburn and Darlington). Jane Elizabeth (Liz), aged 47 years, beloved partner of Tony, much loved sister of Marianne and Veronica, sister-in-law of Terry and John and a very dear auntie to Alison, Robert, Marc and Hazel. Funeral service and cremation at West Cemetery Crematorium, Darlington on Monday, April 11 at 11.15 a.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium.

CURRY John (Johnny) On March 30, late of Wheatley Hill. Johnny, aged 84 years, dearly beloved brother of Billy, Ernie, Florence and the late Charlie and George, also a dear brother-in-law of Fay. David, aged 72 years, beloved husband of June (nee Griffiths), dearly loved father of Paul, Michael, Jillian, Geofrey and Christopher, a dearest father-in-law and a much loved grandad. Cortege leaving 33 North Road East, Thursday at 1.05 p.m. Friends please meet at Holy Trinity Church for service at 1.15 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only please. Elizabeth Jane (Betty), aged 84 years, beloved wife of the late John Charles (Charlie), devoted mam of Brian, dear mother-in-law to Anne, much loved gran of Jill and Stephen, also loving great-gran to Hannah and Anya. Will friends please meet for Requiem Mass in St. Cuthbert's R.C. Church, Crook at 12.00 noon on Thursday, April 7, followed by interment in the churchyard. R.I.P.
