Dougie, aged 73 years, beloved husband of the late Florence and loving partner of Ruby, a dear father of Mervyn and David, also a devoted grandad. Would friends please meet for service in St. James' Church, Coundon on Monday, May 16 at 12.00 noon, followed by interment in Newton Aycliffe Cemetery.

BARNETT On May 12 (peacefully in the Friary Hospital, Richmond), of Jennyhill, Reeth. Philip, aged 78 years, dearly loved husband of Sylvia, very dear dad of Alan, Lynne and Dawn, much loved pippi of Sarah, Carol, Matthew, Ross, Rhys, William and Thomas. A private committal service will be held at Darlington Crematorium, however a Thanksgiving Service for Philip will be held at St. Andrew's Church, Grinton on Friday, May 20 at 3.00 p.m., to which all friends are very welcome. Donations in memory of Philip, if so desired, may be given at the service for the Mowbray Suite at the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton and St. Andrew's Church Funds, or care of Simon Barningham, Manor Farm, Grinton, Richmond, North Yorks., DL11 6HL.

BATTY Darlington May 8. Kate, died peacefully in her 89th year, dear wife of the late Norman Christopher Batty, dearly beloved mother of Susan and Jennifer, dearly beloved grandma of Sarah, Julie and Joanna, also a dearest great-grandma of Lois, Ben, Fred, Daniel and Hannah. Will be sadly missed by all family and friends. Funeral Monday, May 16. Would friends kindly meet at Darlington Crematorium at 2.45 p.m., prior to cremation.

BENSON John, aged 69 years. Of 12 Oaktree Court, Colburn. Died suddenly in hospital on May 10. A dearly loved son, dad, brother and uncle. Funeral service in St. John's Church, Hipswell on Wednesday May 18, at 3.00 p.m. followed by interment in the cemetery. Friends please meet at the church.

Edwin, aged 92 years, beloved husband of the late Eva, dearest father of Valerie and Janet and a dear father-in-law, grandad and great-grandad and wonderful friend to many. Funeral service and interment at St. Patrick's Church, Patrick Brompton on Tuesday, May 17 at 1.00 p.m. Family flowers only please.
