Funeral to take place on Friday, May 13. Would friends please meet for service 10.15 a.m. at Darlington Crema-torium. Floral tributes to Co-operative Funeral Service, Darlington.

RUDD Jane, aged 78 years, of Gatherley Road, Brompton-on-Swale, formerly of School Bank, Middleton Tyas, died peacefully in hospital on May 11. Much loved mum of David and Pauline, dear mother-in-law to Ronnie and loving gran of Abigail and Scott. Funeral service at St. Michael and All Angels' Church, Middleton Tyas on Thurs-day, May 19 at 10.30 a.m., followed by cremation at Darlington. Friends please meet at the Church. Family flowers only please, if desired donations may be given for Middleton Tyas Church Funds.

RUSS May 12 (peacefully, in hospital), of Keats Road, Chilton. Cathy, aged 78 years. Beloved wife of the late Jack, loving mam of John, Pat, George, Jacqueline, Kevin and the late Ann, a loving nanna and great-nanna. Would friends please meet for service in St. Aidan's Church at 12.35 p.m. on Wednesday May 18, followed by cremation at Durham. Reunited with our dear father, so sadly missed.

SAYERS May 11, formerly of Esh Winning, of Kingsway Nursing Home, Langley Park. John Hartwell (Jack), aged 78 years, dearly loved dad of Elizabeth, a dear brother of Iris, Sylvia and Derek, a much loved uncle and sadly missed by all his friends. Would friends please meet for service in St. Paul's Church, Waterhouses on Tues-day, May 17 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment in Parkwood Cemetery. Friends welcome for refreshments at Woodland Road Community Centre afterwards.

SCARFE May 8, in hospital, of Darlington. George, aged 88 years. The funeral service will take place at 1.15 pm on Friday, May 20 at Darlington Crema-torium.

SHACKLER May 10 (peacefully, in hospital), of Peterlee Cottages, Wheatley Hill. Thomas William aged 71 years, a beloved husband of Pat (nee Smith), dearly loved dad of John and a much loved grandad of Lyndsay, Samantha and Amanda. Cortege leaving residence on Wednesday at 11.00 a.m. Friends please meet at All Saints' Church, Wheatley Hill for service at 11.15 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham.

SHERATON May 11 (peacefully in hospital, after a short illness), of Northumberland Avenue, Bishop Auckland. Evelyn Mary (nee Swainston), aged 78 years, beloved wife of Gordon for 54 years, a much loved mother of Valerie and a dearest gran of Paul. Cremation Wednesday, May 18 at Durham. Cortege leaving residence at 12.30 p.m. for a service in the Crematorium Chapel at 1.00 p.m. Friends please meet at the Crema-torium. Family flowers only please.

Margaret, aged 80 years, much loved wife of the late Derrick, dear mam of Ian and Graeme, mother-in-law of Maureen and Dorothy, grandma of Brian, William, Steven. Friends please meet at Chester-le-Street Parish Church on Thursday, May 12 at 12.30 p.m. for service followed by interment Chester-le-Street Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to Willowburn Hospice, Lanchester or Northern League for Hard of Hearing. Friends kindly invited to the Garden Farm afterwards for refreshments.

SIMPSON May 11 (suddenly, in hospital), of Coalford Road, Sherburn Village. Billy, aged 79 years, beloved husband of the late Eva, dearly loved father of Pat and John, also devoted granda and great-granda and a sadly missed brother and brother-in-law. SIMPSON May 8 (passed away peacefully), late of Watson Road, Newton Aycliffe. John Henry (Jack), aged 92 years. Beloved husband of the late Fia, a dearly loved father of Jack and Jim, father-in-law of Lorna and a much loved grandfather and geat-grandad. Jean Mary, aged 78 years, of Cowper Hill Farm, Mallerstang, dearly loved wife of Ken, dear mother of Ian, Christine and Karen, a sadly missed and much loved mother-in-law, nanna and great-nanna. Funeral service and interment at St. Mary's Church, Mallerstang, Kirkby Stephen on Monday, May 16 at 11.00 a.m. Flowers or donations will be welcome. Beloved wife of the late Billy, much loved mother of Ellen and Billy and son-in-law Edmund and daughter-in-law Glenda and a much loved grandma to Paul and Gillian, also Richard and Lisa and a great-grandma to Steph and Sarah, Ashley and Sean, will be sadly missed by all the family.
