NIXON July 12, formerly of Spennymoor. Vera (nee Lumley), aged 79 years. Beloved wife of the late John Robert, a dearly loved mam, mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandma and sister. Funeral Wednesday July 20. Would friends please meet at 1.30 p.m. for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium.

NOBLE Darlington July 8 (suddenly, after a short illness). George Richard, aged 82 years, husband of the late Bessie, much loved and respected father of Margaret, Harold, Doreen, Christine and Michael, also a dear father-in-law, loving grandad, great-grandad and great-great-grandad. George Edward, aged 81 years, beloved husband of the late Margaret, dearly loved father of Anne, Janet and David, also a much loved grandad of Jack, Robyn and Jake. Funeral Wednesday. Katie, aged 6 months, dearly loved daughter of Lyn and Michael, dearest sister of Zoe, Michaela, Jamie and Mark, much loved granddaughter of Cynthia, Les, Barbara, Stephen and Liz. Friends please meet for service in St. Paul's Church, Witton Park, on Wednesday, July 13 at 2.15 p.m., followed by interment in Witton Park Cemetery.

ROEDER July 9 (peacefully in Greenfields Nursing Home), of Harrow, London. Dick, aged 86 years, loving husband of Edith, also a dearly loved uncle. SIMPSON On July 10, 2005, her 59th Birthday, peacefully at the Friary Hospital, Richmond after a long and courageous battle against a cruel illness, of Ghyllbeck, Gunnerside and formerly of Briercliffe and Higham, Lancashire. Joan, dearly loved daughter of the late Kenneth and Marian Bythell, very dear sister of Duncan and Ian, much loved sister-in-law of Susan, a loving aunt and great-aunt and a dear friend. Funeral service to be held at Gunnerside Methodist Chapel on Monday, July 18 at 11.30 a.m., followed by private cremation. Family flowers only please, however, donations in memory of Joan may be given at the service for Cancer Research U.K. and Chapel Funds or c/o Simon Barningham, Manor Farm, Grinton, Richmond, North Yorks., DL11 6HL. Will friends please meet at the Chapel and accept this intimation.

Len, aged 76 years, beloved husband of the late Gwen, loving dad of Denise, John and Neil, dearest father-in-law of Alan and Anita, devoted granda of Carl, Kyle, Daniel, Ryan, Caitlen and the late Lee, dearest great-granda of Paige and Baby Lee and also a dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Would friends please meet for service at the Village Methodist Chapel, Ferryhill on Friday, July 15 at 9.45 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham.

Beloved husband of the late Renee, much loved dad of David, Peter, Rachel and Ian, adored and devoted grandad of Matthew, Andrew and Daniel, a dear brother of Edmund, brother-in-law of Jean, Elsie, Margery and the late William, Lillian and Norman. Funeral service at Stokesley Methodist Church on Friday, July 15 at 11.30 a.m., followed by interment at Carlton-in-Cleveland. Family flowers only please. SWINDLE Elizabeth Ann (nee Hall) On July 6, suddenly in hospital of Hatfield Place, Peterlee. Ann, aged 65 years, a much loved cousin of Doreen, Roy and family, half sister to Jeff and sister-in-law Audrey. Friends please meet for service at St. Cuthbert's Church, Peterlee on Wednesday, July 13 at 1.00 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium at 2.00 p.m. All welcome afterwards at The Moorcock Public House, Peterlee. Will be sadly missed by all family and her many friends.

Annie (Anne, nee Blewitt), aged 79 years, loving wife of the late Jack, a much loved mam of John, Anne and Pauline, a dear mother-in-law of Maureen, John and Jim and a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother.
