CLAXTON May 27 (peacefully), formerly of Victoria Avenue, Sowerby, Thirsk. Joyce Elizabeth, aged 78 years, beloved wife of the late George, loving sister of Dorothy, Lol and the late Ronald, a dear aunt and great-aunt. The funeral service will be held at St. Oswald's Church, Sowerby on Wednesday, June 4 at 1.30 p.m., followed by interment. Would friends please meet at the church.

COATES May 26, peacefully in the Springfield Nursing Home, Darlington (formerly of Otterburn Close). John, aged 69 years, much loved dad of Jackie and Carolyn, dear father-in-law of Graham, loving grandad of Michael, Lauren, Ashleigh and Rhys, dearly loved son of Annie and the late Jack and a dear brother of Doreen and Betty. Funeral Monday. Friends please meet for service in St. Mark's Church at 10.00 a.m., followed by cremation. Flowers may be sent c/o Seaton Leng and Son Ltd., Bondgate, Darlington.

CORNELL May 25. William, dearly beloved husband of Evelyn and dear father of the late Jonothan Philip. A much loved brother of Douglas and a greatly loved uncle. Funeral details to follow.

CRUTE Norman Wilson, aged 93 years, of Middleton Tyas, Richmond, formerly of Corbridge and Newcastle upon Tyne, died peacefully on May 29. Dearly loved husband of Rosalind and a much loved father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. Funeral service at St. Michael and All Angels' Church, Middleton Tyas on Thursday, June 5 at 3.30 p.m., followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the church. CURRY May 22, suddenly, at home, of Darlington (formerly of Croxdale). Allan, aged 70 years, dearly loved husband of Joan, beloved dad of Heather, dear father-in-law of John, much loved grandad of Sam Allan, much loved brother of Tom and Jack, brother-in-law and uncle of many. Funeral Wednesday, May 28. Would friends please meet 10.00 a.m. for service at St. Matthew's and St. Luke's Church, prior to cremation.

DAWSON-SMITH Nicola (Nikki), aged 33 years, of Richmond, died tragically on Thursday, May 22. A wonderful daughter, partner, sister, aunty and a loyal friend. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral service at St. Mary's Church, Richmond on Monday, June 2 at 2.00 p.m., followed by private cremation. Robert (Bobby), aged 78 years, dearly loved husband and soul mate of Emily, loving dad of Valerie and William, dear father-in-law of Bill and Julie, devoted pops of Lisa, Carly and Mark and in Canada Kaine, Brice and Sarah, a dear brother of Norman and brother-in- law of Lily, also a much loved uncle. Would friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Tuesday, June 3 at 2.30 p.m. No flowers by Bobby's request.
