Leslie, aged 68 years, of Barnard Castle, dearly loved husband of Kathy, much loved father of Steven, Mark and Samantha (and partners Jeanette, Sarah and Mark), devoted grandad of Brenda, Mark, Shane and Georgia, great-grandad of Lewis and Cameron. Would friends please meet for funeral service at St. Mary's Parish Church, Barnard Castle at 12.15 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, followed by cremation at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu for St. Teresa's Hospice (plate in church).

CALLAND August 30, of 25 Durham Road, Lanchester. Frederick, aged 86 years, beloved husband of Elizabeth, a much loved father of Ann and family and George and family. Will be sadly missed. Following a private cremation, friends please meet for a Service of Thanksgiving in Lanchester Methodist Chapel on Monday, September 5 at 3.15 p.m. Family flowers only please, by request. Donations in lieu if so desired to Cancer Research and The Blind Society, Sunderland. A plate will be provided at the Chapel.

CAMPBELL August 27 (peacefully, in hospital), of Spenny-moor. Winifred (nee Meale), aged 89 years, beloved wife of the late Patrick (Jock), a much loved mother of Barbara and son-in-law Ray, cherished grandmother of Michael, Gary, Waine and Angela, also a dear great-gran of Kayley, Campbell, Devon and Olivia. Funeral Thurs-day. Would friends please meet 10.30 a.m. for Requiem Mass in St. Charles' R.C. Church, followed by interment in York Hill Cemetery.

CARR August 27, peacefully in hospital, of Shildon. Basil, aged 76 years, beloved husband of the late Alice Louise, dear dad of Ann, Ronnie, Sandra, Sheila and John, loving grandad to Emma, John and Melissa, also a dearest brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Will friends please meet for service in St. John's Church, Shildon at 12.30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, followed by interment in Shildon Cemetery. All friends are welcome to refreshment after this service in Old Shildon Club.

CHAMBERS August 24, in hospital, following a short illness bravely borne, of Weardale Drive, Woodhouse Close, Bishop Auckland. Nora (nee Routledge), aged 52 years, beloved wife of Alan, devoted and much loved mother of Rebecca, Christopher and Rachael, dearly loved nana of Amie, Ben, Luke and Coner, also a very dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt and niece. Will friends please meet for service on Wednesday, August 31 at 1.30 p.m., in St. Paulinus R.C. Church, St Helen Auckland, to be followed by interment in Witton Park Cemetery.

CHATT Bernice Lilian, aged 86 years, formerly of Hipswell. Died peacefully at Rosedale Nursing Home, Catterick Garrison on August 30. Beloved wife of the late Nick, much loved mum of Roland, dear mother-in-law to Pauline, dearest sister to Freda and dear auntie of Joan and Keith. Mary, aged 91 years, beloved wife of the late George, devoted mam of Sheila, dear mother-in-law to Lawrence, much loved nana of Lynne and Chris, also a loving great-gran to Philip and Jonathan. Cortege to leave her daughter's residence at 12.30 p.m. on Friday, September 2 for service in Durham Crematorium at 1.00 p.m. Will friends please meet at the crematorium.

CORPS (nee Poole) Died August 26, peacefully in hospital, of Aiskew. Freda, aged 76 years, dearly beloved wife of Ken, dear mother of Malcolm, Valerie and the late Geoffrey, also a dear mother-in-law and grandma. Funeral service to be held at Aiskew Methodist Church on Thursday, September 1 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment at Bedale Churchyard.

COULSON August 26, peacefully at home, in Darlington, after a short illness bravely borne. Greta, aged 74 years, beloved wife of Tommy, a dearly loved mam of David, a loving sister of Derrick and the late Billy and a much loved sister-in-law and aunt. Maurice, aged 71 years, loving husband of Betty, sadly missed dad of Lynne and father-in-law of Michael, much loved grandad to Drew and Honor. Funeral Wednesday September 7. Annie Dennis, of Ripon, beloved wife of the late Thomas William, much loved mother of Derick, Jeffrey, Keith and Jean, mother-in-law of Mamie, Ann and Laura and a loving grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma. Service and committal at Harrogate Road Methodist Church, Ripon on Monday, September 5 at 1.00 p.m., followed by private cremation. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to The League of Friends of Ripon Hospitals. A plate provided at the service.

DINSDALE August 26, of West Lea, Gayle. Wilson, aged 63 years. Dearly loved husband of Mary and a much loved father of Janet and Stuart, father-in-law of Nick and Natasha and a dear granda of Noah, Dylon, Isabella and Hannah. Marjorie (Madge), aged 74 years, beloved wife of the late Ray, a dearly loved mam of Tony, a loving mother-in-law of Linda, a much loved gran of Kris and a dear sister-in-law and auntie. Would friends please meet in St. Peter's Church, Byers Green Thursday for a service at 9.40 a.m., followed by committal at Durham Crematorium.

EDMENSON Constance Betty, of Lanton Hill, Jedburgh. Died on August 27, 2005 at the Borders General Hospital, after a valiant effort to keep smiling through her illnesses. A beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her children and especially beloved of her twin sister Marian. An inspiration to all who met her, a light has gone out of our lives. A funeral and thanksgiving service will be held at the Old Parish Church, Jedburgh on Wednesday, September 7 at 12.00 noon, to which all her loving friends and caring acquaintances are respectfully invited, refreshments to follow in the Church Hall after the service. Family flowers only, but donations gratefully accepted for Chest, Heart and Stroke, Scotland. A private cremation to follow.

Dorothy (nee Minto), aged 80 years, beloved wife of the late Harry, much loved mam of David and his partner Tracy, also a loving nana of Helen and Claire. Funeral Tuesday, September 6. FLUDE Peacefully after a short illness, on August 25, of Durham. John, aged 68 years, a loving husband of Margaret, much loved dad of Chris and Anita and stepdad to Elizabeth, loved father-in-law of Liz and Dave and a very proud grandad of Jordon, Mica, Eilidh and Daniel, also a very devoted son of Mildred and brother to George, Roy and the late Peter, a wonderful man who will be sadly missed by all his loving family and many, many friends. Cortege to leave his sister's residence in Hunwick at 12.35 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7 for Requiem Mass in St. Wilfrid's R.C.
