Friends please meet for service at St. Catherine's Church, Crook on Friday, September 16 at 11.15 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to St Catherine's Church.

Constance Margaret (Connie), beloved wife of Jack, dear sister of the late Dougie Hugill, very dear friend of Derek and much loved by her many friends. Funeral Thursday. Arthur, aged 91 years, dearly beloved husband of the late Betty, dearly loved dad of Pauline, Libby and Carol, dear father-in-law of Gordon, Richard and Chris and a loving grandad and great-grandad. Funeral Monday. Friends please meet for service in the Church of the Holy Family, Cockerton at 12.30 p.m., followed by interment in West Cemetery. Seth, aged 97 years, husband of the late Elliner, loving father of Neville, father-in-law of Nina, a dear grandad and great-grandad and brother of Nancy at Danby Wiske. SMITH (Peterlee) On Sunday, September 11. Thomas, died suddenly, aged 71 years. Cherished husband of Nancy, adored father of Paul and Marilyn, much loved father-in-law of Pamela and Robert, loving brother of Anne, brother-in-law of John, Dorothy, George, Jimmy, Margaret, Carol and Joan, special uncle to all nephews and nieces. Friends please meet at St. Cuthbert's Church, Peterlee on Thursday, September 15 for service at 12.00 noon., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium.

SPENSLEY We are sorry to announce the death of our father, grandfather and father-in-law Arnold. He had such a wonderful life and he gave so much to so many people. We love you so much. The best dad in the world to Kevin, Michelle and David. Funeral details to follow.

Gwen, aged 80 years, beloved wife of the late Bill, dearly loved mum of Norma, mother-in-law of Neil, nana of Graeme and Lindsay, also a dear sister, aunt and great-aunt. Funeral Friday, September 16. Would friends please meet at 9.45 a.m. for service in the Village Methodist Church, followed by cremation at Durham.

TOWNSEND (Newton Hall) Formerly a nursing sister at The Freeman Hospital. Suddenly at home on September 3, aged 69 years. Ann (nee Eastwood), much loved mum of Yvonne, Richard, Andrew and Charles and a devoted grandma of Charles, Michael, Anne-Marie, Andrew, Georgia and Hannah, also a loved sister of Tony and Alan. Will be sadly missed by all her loving family, friends and especially the cat Pebbles. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to either The British Heart Foundation, P.D.S.A. or Leukaemia Research Association. Funeral service took place on Monday September 12.

TURNER Dorothy (nee Horner) On September 7, peacefully in the Rutson Hospital, Northallerton. Dorothy, aged 90 years, dearly beloved wife of the late Eric H. Turner (of Sam Turner and Sons, Northallerton). Much loved mother of Molly, John, Michael and Erica, a loving mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Private funeral arrangements by request.

WALLIS Ian Philip, aged 33 years, of Gilling West, on September 10, in Edinburgh. A dearly loved son and brother.
