Alan, aged 78 years, dearly loved husband of the late Sarah, much loved dad of David and Kevin, father-in-law of Barbara and Lesley and a dear granda of Kelvin, Linzi and Sophie and great-granda of Megan and Luke. Friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Friday, September 23 at 10.30 a.m. Donations in lieu for Cancer Research U.K. may be given after the service. Friends welcome for refreshments at Mount Oswald Manor afterwards.

ROBINSON September 22, passed away peacefully after a short illness (formerly of Leeholme). Florence (nee Dugdale), aged 81 years, dearly loved mam of Amos, Thomas, James, George, Linda and Brian, dearest mother-in-law and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Friends please meet for service in St. James' Church, Coundon on Tuesday, September 27 at 12.30 p.m. followed by interment in Coundon Cemetery. Close friends are welcome back at Tees Walk Community Centre for refreshments.

ROBY Barbara, aged 76 years, of Richmond, died peacefully in The Friary Hospital on September 17. Dearly loved wife of Peter and a dear sister of Irene and family. Service at Richmond Cemetery on Friday, September 23, 2005 at 2.00 p.m.

SAYER September 22, peacefully in hospital, of Northallerton. Clifford Watson Sayer, aged 71 years, dearly loved husband of Valerie, loving father of Dave, Carole, Jackie and Clifford, a dear father-in-law, grandad and great-grandad. Funeral service to be held in St. Thomas' Church, Brompton at 11.00 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, followed by interment. Family flowers only. Donations, if wished, may be given for the Romanby Ward at the Friarage Hospital.

SHORT September 17, peacefully in Hackworth House, Shildon, formerly of Cockfield. Greta, beloved wife of the late Billy, also a dear mother, mother-in-law and gran. Funeral private.

SMITH Suddenly, on September 12, of The Hollow, Crook. Jean Margaret, aged 82 years, beloved wife of Jack, devoted mother of Glenn, dear mother-in-law to Anne, also dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium at 2.30 p.m. on Friday, September 23.

SPENSLEY We are sorry to announce the death of our father, grandfather, father-in-law and brother Arnold. He had such a wonderful life and he gave so much to so many people. TARREN Bill, aged 83 years, of Staindrop, died peacefully in hospital on September 16. Dearly loved husband of Eva, much loved dad of Philip and David, dear father-in-law of Trudy, devoted grandad of Reece and Anouska, brother of the late Nicholas and stepbrother of John. Funeral service in St. Mary's Church, Staindrop on Thursday, September 22 at 9.45 a.m., followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the church. Family flowers only please.
