Funeral service at St. John's Church, Hipswell on Tuesday, June 3 at 11.30 a.m., followed by interment in the cemetery. Friends please meet at the church. Family flowers only. If desired, donations for Ward 47, Middlesbrough General Hospital are being accepted by John Blenkiron and Sons, Funeral Directors, Victoria House, 21 Queens Road, Richmond. DL10 4AJ.

UREN May 23, peacefully, at 37 Frank Street, Gilesgate, Durham. Sarah, aged 78 years, dearly loved wife of the late Tommy and loving mam of Joe and the late Eileen and sadly missed by all the family. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Friday, May 30 at 3.30 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to Marie Curie Cancer Care, c/o 38 Deans Walk, Gilesgate, Durham.

VERDON (nee Davey) May 24, of Newton Aycliffe. Elsie, aged 76 years, loving wife of the late Joe, much loved mam of June and Lesley, mother-in-law of Brian and John, loving nana, great-grandma and sister. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 3 1.00 p.m at Neville Parade Methodist Church, Newton Aycliffe, prior to cremation at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only, but a donation plate will be available in church for Oakridge House.

WALL Jennifer May 28, peacefully at home, of School Aycliffe. Dearly loved wife of Alan, loving mum of Jackie, Karen and Joanne. Funeral Wednesday, June 4. Will friends please meet for service at Heighington Methodist Church, 2.30 p.m., prior to cremation at Durham Crema-torium. Donations preferred to the Celebration of Life after Cancer, 19 Malvern Drive, Stokesley, TS9 5NS.

WALSH Bill May 22, (suddenly, at home), aged 59 years, of Coast Road, Blackhall, beloved husband of the late Irene and also a loving brother of Brian. Cortege to leave his residence on Thursday, for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium at 1.30 p.m., all friends are kindly invited, please meet at the crematorium.

WATSON May 26, of Dovedale Avenue, Sunnybrow (late of Lanchester). Elizabeth (Betty), aged 88 years, beloved wife of the late Stan, loving mother and mother-in-law of Judith and Joe, devoted grandma of Christopher and Mark and dear great-granny of Charlie and William. Cortege leaving her daughter's residence, Prospect House, Sunnybrow for service at Sunnybrow Community Chapel on Tuesday, June 3 at 11.15 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Friends please meet at chapel. All are welcome to reception afterwards at the Brown Trout. Family flowers only please.

WEST May 23 (peacefully, in hospital), of Dinsdale Crescent, Darlington. Alfred, much loved dad, grandad and great-grandad. Funeral Thursday, May 29. Would friends please meet 9.45 a.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium.

Jean, aged 74 years, of Escomb, dearly loved sister of Tom and the late Jack and Kitty, also dear sister-in-law to Kay, much loved by Kath, Bernice, Tim and family, Brian, Maggie and family, cousins Cecil, Cyril and Sheila, also dear friend of Angela and Anthony. Will friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Wednesday, June 4 at 1.00 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers may, if desired, be left at the crematorium for Marie Curie Nurses.

Mary, aged 79 years, dearly loved wife of George, loving mother of Brian and Stephen, mother-in-law to Barbara and Beryl, also a loving grandma, great-grandma and sister to Enid. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Thursday, May 29 at 3.30 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to the Renal Unit, Sunderland Royal Hospital.

WILLIAMS May 25, at Hollygarth Nursing Home, Brandon. Elizabeth, aged 96 years (retired Headmistress at Ushaw Moor Infant and Junior School). Friends please meet for service in St. John's Church, Meadowfield on Friday, May 30 at 10.45 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Donations in lieu of flowers may be given after the service for Hollygarth Nursing Home. Friends welcome for refreshments at Mount Oswald Manor afterwards.

WILSON May 13 (suddenly, in China), of The Stables, Wynyard Village (formerly of Coxhoe). David, aged 54 years, a dearly loved husband of Dulcie, a dearest dad of Michael and Andrew, son of James and the late Jean, brother of John and brother-in-law of Rowena, John and Brenda. Service in St Edmund's Church, Sedgefield on Monday at 11.00 a.m. Private cremation following at Durham. Friends please meet at church. Lesley, aged 62 years, beloved daughter of Dorothy and Jack Fowler, a much loved sister of Diane, John and Veronica, a dearly loved aunt, also a dear friend of Susan. Funeral Saturday. Elizabeth (nee McBrian), aged 85 years, beloved wife of Bill, dearly loved sister of Father Martin and the late Father Philip and Mary and will be sadly missed by her many friends. Funeral Wednesday. AMOS May 23, tragically. Liam Warren, aged 15 years, of Escomb, Bishop Auckland. Dearly loved son of Caroline and the late Peter, dearest brother to Mark, Karl, Emma and Stacey, also a loving uncle. Will friends please meet for service in Escomb Saxon Church at 11.30 a.m. on Monday, June 9, followed by interment in Witton Park Cemetery.

ANDERSON Dorothy Margaret May 30, (in hospital), at Lancaster, (formerly of Langholm Crescent, Darlington), aged 75 years. Beloved wife of Roy.

ANDERSON Laura May 31 (after a long illness, surrounded by her family), of West Street Cottages, Blackhall. Laura (nee Berriman), aged 82 years, dearly beloved wife of the late Robert, loving mother of Pam, Valerie and Doreen, dear mother-in-law and also a much loved gran and great-gran. Interment Blackhall Cemetery Thursday. Cortege leaving her daughter's residence, 21 Enid Gardens. Friends please accept this intimation and meet for service at St. Andrew's Church at 1.15 p.m.

ARMSTRONG Stuart, died suddenly in Scotland on May 24, 2003, aged 46 years. Service only Cockfield Methodist Church Thursday, June 5 at 10.30 a.m. No flowers.

ARNOTT June 2, suddenly of 60 Devonshire Road, Belmont. Ian, aged 58 years, formerly of Wardley Drive, Gateshead. Would friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Friday, June 6 at 1.30 p.m. No flowers by request. Donations in lieu, if so desired, to the Cancer Unit, c/o Newcastle General Hospital. A plate will also be provided at the crematorium.

BANKS May 28, peacefully in hospital, of Acorn Grange, West Cornforth. Jenny, aged 86 years, dearly loved wife of the late Billy, a loving sister of Joseph and Mary and a devoted auntie. Funeral service in Holy Trinity Church, West Cornforth on Wednesday at 1.30 p.m., interment following in the churchyard. Would friends please meet at church.

BARNETT Alfred Ronald (Ron) Aged 83 years on June 4. Beloved husband of Muriel, a dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Dearly loved husband of Audrey, loving dad of Colin and Brian, dear father-in-law of Kirsti and much loved grandad of Daniel and Lauren. Funeral service in St. Mary's Parish Church, Barnard Castle on Monday, June 9 at 10.00 a.m., followed by interment in the cemetery. Friends please meet at the church.
