Doris (Dot, nee Langham), aged 84 years, loving wife of the late George, dearly loved mam of Brian, John, Jimmy and Christine, dearest nana of Paul, Nigel, Gareth, Rachel, Mark, Wayne and Stacy, much loved great-nana of Rebecca, Daniel, Lewis and Melissa, a sadly missed mother-in-law, sister and friend to many. Friends please meet for service in St. John's Church, Shildon on Wednesday, November 9 at 12.00 noon followed by interment in Shildon Cemetery.

Veronica (Monica), aged 88 years, beloved wife of the late Edmund, loving mother of Lawrence and the late Eddie, mother-in-law of Barbara and a wonderful nan to all her grandchildren. Friends please meet for service in St. Joseph's R.C. Church on Friday, November 4 at 12.30 p.m., followed by interment in Ushaw Moor Cemetery. Family and friends welcome for refreshments in St. Joseph's Parish Centre afterwards.

UNDERWOOD Peacefully at home, of Brandon. Roy, aged 69 years, devoted husband of Elizabeth and a much loved brother and brother-in-law. Friends please meet for service in St. John's Church, Meadowfield on Friday, November 4 at 2.45 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium.

VASEY Suddenly on October 27, of Ushaw Moor. Stephen, aged 64 years, dearly loved husband of Joan, loving father of Paul and sadly missed by all his family and friends. Would friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Wednesday, November 2 at 10.00 a.m. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu for the British Heart Foundation may be given after the service. Friends welcome for refreshments at Mount Oswald Manor afterwards.

VEIDE On October 30, of Esh Winning. Arthur, aged 66 years, loving husband of Christine, a loving dad, grandpa and father-in-law. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Friday, November 4 at 11.00 a.m. and afterwards all welcome to Durham City Rugby Club. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to St. Cuthbert's Hospice, a plate will be provided at the crematorium.

WALKER Alexander (Alec) October 25 (peacefully in his sleep). Alec, aged 92 years. Marathon Runner and the oldest man to walk from John O' Groats to Lands End raising funds for the British Heart Found-ation. Tributes in memory of Alec may be given to the British Heart Foundation.

WALL (nee Swinbank) Anne, of Raygill Farm, Lartington, died peacefully in Darlington Memorial Hospital on October 28, following a long illness endured bravely and with great dignity. Beloved wife of Robert, devoted mother of Peter and Adam and dear daughter, sister, aunt and great-aunt. Will be sadly missed by her many friends and relatives. Would friends please meet for funeral service at Barnard Castle Methodist Church on Thursday, November 3 at 1.30 p.m., followed by family interment at Cotherstone Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne's memory to Cancer Research UK (Teesdale) and given in church.

WALL October 28, in hospital, after a long illness bravely borne. Anne (nee Swinbank), of Raygill, Lartington, Barnard Castle. Sadly missed by all family and friends. Funeral particulars to follow.

WELBURN On October 25. Jim (in hospital, after a brave and dignified fight). Dearly loved husband of Doreen, much loved dad of Kim and Jacklyn, respected father-in-law of Ken and Brian, treasured grandad and friend of Laura, Katy, Helen and Eve and a dear brother and uncle. Friends please meet for service at Darlington Crematorium on Monday, November 7 at 3.15 p.m. Family flowers only. WILLIAMSON Edward (Ted) Suddenly but peacefully at home, on October 28, 2005. Edward (Ted), aged 80 years, of Stokesley, dearly loved husband of the late Betty, devoted father of Brian and Beryl, loving father-in-law of Sue and Colin, beloved grandad of Peter and Nicola, Carol, Helen and Rebecca and great-grandad of Julia, Leia and Jennie. Funeral service to be held on Monday, November 7 in the Methodist Chapel, Stokesley at 10.45 a.m., followed by cremation in the Chapel of St Bede, Teesside Crematorium at 11.30 a.m. Family flowers only please., Donations in lieu if so desired to Teesside Hospice and Cancer Research UK.

WILSON Joseph (Joe), aged 71 years, of Cotherstone, Barnard Castle, formerly of Durham, died peacefully at home on October 29, after a long illness borne with great courage and dignity. Dearly loved husband of Pat and much loved by all his family and many friends. Funeral service at St. Cuthbert's Church, Cotherstone on Monday, November 7 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in the cemetery. Friends please meet at the church.

WILSON October 31, Robert (Bob the builder), aged 58 years, peacefully in hospital, of Darlington. Dearly loved husband of Pat, father of David and Jacqueline, grandfather of Luke, Gemma and Nathan. William, aged 86 years, of Bowman Street, Darlington, re-united with his beloved wife Amy, treasured dad of Sheila, Brian, Maurice and Corinne and a much loved grandad and great-grandad. CLOGG Joyce On November 8 (suddenly), aged 74 years of Wingate. Dearly beloved wife of Tommy, also a much loved mam, mother-in-law, nana, great-nana and sister. Service to take place at Holy Trinity Church, Wingate, on Monday at 12.30 p.m. prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium. All friends are kindly invited please meet at the church. COCKFIELD Sarah (nee Etherington), aged 82 years, of Catterick Village, died peacefully in hospital on November 7, after an illness borne with great courage and dignity. Beloved wife of the late Denis, much loved mother of John, loving partner to Ken, dear mother-in-law to Bev and dearest sister to Wilf, Ken and Joe. COOK November 4, of Low Willington. Albert, beloved husband of Mavis, dear dad of Alison and Jeffrey, also a dearly loved father-in-law, grandad and brother. Friends please meet for service at Willington Methodist Church on Thursday, November 10 at 10.45 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Mavis and family would appreciate it if friends would attend a reception afterwards at The Black Horse Inn, Low Willington. 'Grief is the price we pay for love.'
