Ernie, aged 56 years, of Sanderson Close, Newton Aycliffe, a much loved son of the late Jessie and Ern, a loving brother of Joan, brother-in-law of Dave, also a loved uncle of Kelly and great-uncle of Sam. Funeral Friday, December 2. Would friends please meet 11.15 a.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium. Donations in lieu of flowers if so desired to The John Butterwick Hospice.

Dennis, aged 79 years, of School Aycliffe, a dearly loved partner of Olive, a dear father and father-in-law of Dennis and Freda, a loving brother of Rene and Edna, also a loved uncle of Jeff and Susan. Funeral Monday, December 5. Would friends please meet 1.15 p.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium.

HARDY November 26, of Bishop Auckland, formerly of Witton Park. John Jack (Smoky), aged 90 years, beloved husband of the late Mary, dearest partner to the late Mary, devoted dad of Ann, Shirley, Alan and the late John, dear father-in-law to Peter, John, Sandra and Carol, a much loved grandad and great-grandad, also a dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Cortege to leave his son's residence at 12.50 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30 for service in Woodhouse Close Church at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment at Witton Park. Will friends please meet at church.

Friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Wednesday, December 7 at 2.30 p.m. No flowers by request. Donations in lieu may be given after the service for St. Cuthbert's Hospice.

HOGG November 28, formerly of North Shields, of Gilesgate, Durham. Nan (nee Price), aged 95 years, beloved wife of the late James William, devoted mam of Mary and a dearly loved aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt. Friends please meet for service in Elvet Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 6 at 12.30 p.m., followed by private interment at South Road Cemetery.

HOWE November 27, of West Auckland. Julie, aged 35 years, dearly loved daughter of Alwyn, Norma, Marion and Brian. Devoted mother of Paul and Emma, dearest partner of Paul, loving sister of Paul, Gareth, Danielle and Lori-Lee. Special granddaughter of Mary and the late Teddy and Edith, also a very dear auntie, niece, cousin and good friend to all. Julie will be sadly missed by all her family. Cortege to leave her mother's residence in Oakley Green on Friday, December 2 at 12.15 p.m. for service in West Auckland Methodist Chapel at 12.20 p.m., followed by interment in West Auckland Cemetery. HUNT James, aged 63 years, of Oran Lane, Catterick Village (Coach Driver with Abbotts of Leeming), died peacefully at home on November 29, after a short illness borne with great courage and dignity. Dearly loved husband of Gean 'he always called her his tweet' and a much loved brother, uncle, stepdad and grandad. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Wednesday, December 7 at 2.15 p.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium chapel. Family flowers only please, if desired, donations may be given on the plate provided at the crematorium chapel for Cancer Research UK.

HUNTER Suddenly on November 30. Norman, aged 59 years, devoted husband of Vivien, loving father of Ken and Lee, also a dear grandfather. Friends please meet at St. Giles' Church, Gilesgate for service on Wednesday, December 7 at 11.15 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium at 12.00 noon.

JACKSON November 23, suddenly but peacefully at home, in Romanby, North-allerton. Harry, aged 85 years, dearly loved husband of the late Edna, loving father of Ian, Alan and Ken, a dear father-in-law, grandad and great-grandad. Funeral service and cremation to take place at Darlington Crematorium on Thursday, December 1 at 3.15 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations if wished may be given for the R.N.I.B.

JOHNSON Jane November 24, peacefully in hospital. Jane (Jennie), in her 93rd year, beloved wife of the late Bob Johnson, dearly loved sister of Mary Grundy of Castle Eden, dearly loved aunt of John and Joan, Peter and Elaine and great-aunt of Adam and Anna. Funeral Service of Thanksgiving will take place at the Parish Church of St. Peter, Elwick at 12.30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, prior to interment in Elwick Churchyard.

JONES On November 24, 2005. Canon Professor Douglas R. Jones, late of Durham Cathedral and Univer-sity. Funeral at St. Mary's Episcopal Cath-edral, Edinburgh on Friday, December 2 at 11.00 a.m.

KEARTON November 27 (peacefully in Hundens Park). Eileen, aged 81 years, formerly of Rowan Court Darlington, dearly loved wife of the late Arthur, much loved mum of Pauline and the late David, treasured nana of Nicola, Rachel, Sharon and Paula, a loving great-nana, also a dear mother-in-law. Funeral Monday, December 5. Would friends please meet 10.15 a.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

KENNEDY Alan Kennedy (Shiney Row, formerly Haswell Plough), died Monday, November 28, 2005, aged 71 years, after a long illness patiently borne. A dearly loved brother of Margaret, Noreen (deceased), George, Norman and Michael, uncle to Suzanne, Neville, great-uncle to Laura and Hannah. Thank you for the years we shared The love you gave, the way you cared. To see you suffer was hard to bear But now we know you are in God's care. Rest in peace Alan. Sadly missed by brother George, niece Suzanne and her husband Neville and great-nieces Laura and Hannah.

KIPLING November 25, at St. Margaret's Nursing Home (formerly of Hilltop Farm, Belmont and Nevilles Cross). Mary Winifred (Winnie, nee Tate), aged 94 years, beloved wife of the late William Rudyard, loving mother of Joan and Patricia, a dear nana of David and Joan, Michael and the late Christine and a special great-nana to Katherine, Richard, Henry, Thomas and Alison. Friends please meet for Requiem Mass in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Gilesgate on Thursday, December 1 at 9.00 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Friends welcome for refreshments at her daughter's residence in Coxhoe afterwards. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be given after the service for Church Funds. On whose soul sweet Jesus have mercy. R.I.P.

Valerie (nee Dawson), aged 58 years, beloved wife of Leslie, loving mother to Kevin and Barry, devoted daughter to Maud and the late Jack, dearest nana to Ashley, Charlie and Olivia, a much loved sister to Jack, Stephen and Alan, also a treasured niece to Audrey. Friends please meet at Durham Crematorium Tuesday for service and cremation at 3.00 p.m. Sadly missed and never forgotten

LANGFORD Harold, died in hospital on Wednesday November 23, 2005, aged 89 years, beloved husband of the late Vera May Langford. The funeral service will take place at All Saints' Church, Northallerton on Friday, December 2 at 12.00 noon, followed by interment.

LAWSON November 29, of Grange Park Crescent, Bowburn. Matthew (Matt), aged 89 years, beloved husband of the late Olive and will be sadly missed by Kathleen, Bob, Mark and all his family and friends. Bob, aged 78 years, formerly of Hilton Green Brompton, a much loved husband of Ella, also a loving dad, grandad, great-grandad and father -in-law. Funeral service to be held at St. Thomas' Parish Church, Brompton on Thursday, December 8 at 1.00 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington Crema-torium. Family flowers only please. Robbie, aged 76 years (ex Haulage Contractor), beloved partner of Lina, a very dear brother of Ronnie and the late Frank and Ray, a dear brother-in-law and uncle, also a dear and highly respected friend to Lina's family. Cortege leaving 61 Moorside Crescent, Fishburn Thursday for a service in St Catherine's Church Fishburn at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment in Fishburn Cemetery. Would friends please meet in Church.

Edith Annie, aged 95 years beloved wife of the late Herbert Alfred, loving mother of Allan, mother-in-law of Ethel and a dear grandma and great-grandma. Friends please meet for service in St. John's Church, Quebec on Wednesday, November 30 at 10.30 a.m., followed by interment in Langley Park Cemetery.

LOWERY November 26, of Front Street, Broompark, Joyce, aged 73 years, devoted wife of Ernest, loving sister of Thomas and a much loved sister-in-law, aunt and great-aunt.
