A private cremation will be followed by a Thanksgiving Service to celebrate the life of Esther at Sowerby Methodist Church, Thirsk on Wednesday April 18, at 3.00 p.m. A plate will be situated at the rear of the church for donations in lieu of flowers be given to Christian Aid.

RUTHERFORD - April 4, (peacefully, in hospital), of Lucknow Street, Darlington. Audrey, beloved wife of the late John, loving mam of John and Brian, also a dearly loved gran and great-gran. Funeral Monday April 16. Would friends please meet 1.00 p.m. for service at St. William's R.C. Church, Albert Hill, Darlington followed by interment in The West Cemetery.

SEAGER - April 8, of Tow Law. Elizabeth Ann (Lizzy), aged 87 years, beloved wife of the late Gordon and a devoted mam of Brian. Will friends please meet for service in St. Philip and St. James' Church, Tow Law at 1.00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, followed by interment in Thornley Road Cemetery.

SHARP - On April 5, peacefully in St. George's Care Home, John, aged 88 years, of Middleton St. George (formerly a Police Sergeant of Durham County Constabulary). Dearly beloved husband of Miriam, much loved dad of Geoffrey, father-in-law of Marian, adored grandad to Michael, also a loving brother-in-law and uncle. Funeral Tuesday, April 17. Funeral service at St. Matthew's Church, Leyburn on Monday, April 23 at 1.00 p.m., followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the church.

VICKERS - April 7, of St. Helen Auckland, suddenly in hospital. Alan James (Big Vic), aged 68 years, beloved son of the late Marie and Jim, also a much loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Cortege to leave his sister's residence at 1.50 p.m. on Friday, April 13 for service in St. Helen's Church at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment in West Auckland Cemetery. Beloved wife of the late Laurence, much loved mam of Carol, dear mother-in-law and a devoted grandma of Tracy and Terry. Funeral Monday, April 23. WEIR - April 7, (peacefully at home), in Northallerton. David, aged 81 years. Husband of the late Margaret. He leaves four daughters and nine grandchildren. Funeral service and cremation to be held at York Crematorium on Wednesday April 18, at 2.30 p.m. Family flowers only, but donations if wished may be given for The R.A.F. Benevolent Fund.
