Passed away peacefully after a long courageous fight with cancer, borne with unbelievable spirit, dignity and wonderful sense of humour. Friends please meet at Durham Crematorium 3.00 p.m. Monday October 23, for service and cremation.


GRIMLEY - Suddenly at home of Trimdon Village. Bernard, son of the late Edward and Jennie and a loved brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Would friends please meet for Requiem Mass at St. William's R.C. Church, Trimdon Village on Friday October 20, at 1.00 p.m. followed by interment at Trimdon Village Cemetery.


HADRICK - On October 13 (suddenly in hospital), of Aycliffe Village. Ida, aged 86 years, beloved wife of the late Tommy. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 19, 11.45 a.m. at St. Andrew's Church, Aycliffe Village prior to interment in the churchyard. Friends welcome, please meet at the church.

HORNER - Clifford (Cliff), aged 78 years, of Scruton, formerly of Streetlam, died peacefully in hospital on October 18 after an illness bravely borne. Dearly loved husband of Ann, much loved father of Gillian, David, Kathleen and Andrew, dear father-in-law to John, Sandra, Keith and Angela and loving grandad of Sarah, Paul, Robert and Amy, Christopher and Claire, Laura, Katrina and Daniel, Samuel and Bethany. Will be greatly missed by all. Funeral service at St. Radegund's Church, Scruton on Thursday, October 26 at 11.00 a.m., followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the church. Beloved husband of the late Alice, a dearly loved dad of Rosemary, Margaret and Rita, loving father-in-law, a much loved grandad, great-grandad and a dear brother of Fred and Bill. LOWSON - Rex M.B.E., aged 75 years, of Lartington, Honorary Lay Canon Emeriti of Ripon Cathedral, died peacefully on October 16 at the Richardson Hospital after a short illness. A much loved and highly respected member of the community, remembered especially for his devotion to the church and the care of the terminally ill. To be received into St. Cuthbert's Church, Cotherstone on Monday, October 23 at 4.00 p.m. Funeral service at St. Romald's Church, Romaldkirk on Tuesday, October 24 at 12.00 noon, followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the church. Family flowers only please, if desired, donations may be given on the plate provided in the church for the Friends of the Richardson Hospital, St. Teresa's Hospice and Church Funds.
