BIRD - August 7 (in hospital), formerly of Sir E.D. Walker Homes and The Wool Shop, North Road, Darlington. Hilda, beloved wife of the late Fred, dearly loved mam of Pamela and her partner Stephen and a loving nan of Joanne, Gillian and great-grandson Charlie. Funeral Wednesday. Would friends please meet for service at Darlington Crematorium at 1.15 p.m. Family flowers only please.


BORROWDALE - August 9 (peacefully, at home with her family after a short illness), of Wood Vue, Spennymoor. Mabel (nee Sheldon), aged 75 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Joseph, loving mother of Peter, Christine and Robert and mother-in-law of Paula and Derek, a devoted gran and great-gran of Joseph, Emma, Kate, Matthew and Nathan, also a dear sister of Ria. Would friends please meet at St. Andrew's Church, Spennymoor on Monday at 9.45 a.m. for a service followed by committal at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only please. BRAITHWAITE - Died August 4, peacefully in hospital, of Bedale. Victor, aged 87 years, beloved husband of the late Phyllis, loving father of Peter and Bryan and family. Funeral service and interment to be held at St. Gregory's Church, Bedale on Thursday, August 10 at 1.00 p.m.


BROOKS - August 5, after illness borne with great courage and dignity. Victor Colin (Vic), aged 66 years, of Escomb, ex R.B. R.G.J. and 7 L.I. Beloved husband of Lynne, devoted dad of Trish and Alex, also a much loved and loving grandad of Michael. Will friends please meet for service in Escomb Saxon Church at 11.00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, followed by cremation at Durham.


BROWN - Jackie (nee Neasham) Suddenly at home, on August 8, 2006. Jackie, aged 32 years of Sedgefield and previously of Northallerton, darling wife of Phil, darling daughter of Elaine and Alan, loving sister of Adele, precious mam of Ryan and Jay. Will be so deeply missed by all. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 16 at 11.00 a.m., at St. Edmund's Church, Sedgefield prior to interment at Sedgefield Cemetery at 11.30 a.m. All enquiries and floral tributes to the Co-operative Funeral Service, Cedar Cottage, Front Street, Sedgefield. BULLOCK - On August 5, in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Derek Francis, aged 78 years (formerly of Sowerby, Thirsk). Much loved husband of Catherine (née Staples), loving father of Mark, Tania and Stuart and grandfather of Alex and Cameran and dear brother of John, Val and Geoff. Will be sadly missed by us all.

Iris, aged 74 years, dearly loved wife of George and a dear mam of Martin, Neil, Audrey and the late Malcolm, also a much loved nana and great-nana. Cortege leaving residence at 1.00 p.m. on Friday, August 11 for service and committal at Durham Crematorium at 1.30 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to the Butterwick Hospice.


BURNELL - August 4 (in hospital). Ronnie, aged 70 years, of Stockton Road, Darlington. A dearly loved husband of Annette, a loved dad of Angela, grandad of Christopher, brother of Barbara, brother-in-law of Gordon and Susan, also uncle of Adam and Gordon. Funeral Monday August 14. BURR - Susan Heather (Sue), aged 44 years, of Cook Close, Brompton-on-Swale, died peacefully at home on August 3, after an illness borne with great courage and dignity. Dearly loved and loving wife of Steve, much loved mum of Matthew, Ceri, Thomas and Daniel, a very dear daughter and sister and will be greatly missed by all her family. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, August 11 at 2.15 p.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium chapel. Family flowers only please, if desired, donations may be given on the plate provided at the crematorium chapel for the Macmillan Nurses (cheques payable to Cancer Care Donated Funds).
