Will friends please meet at church.


LOCKYEAR - Peacefully at home, on May 5, of Brancepeth View, Brandon (formerly of Seaham). Alan, aged 51 years, dearly loved husband of Judith, devoted dad of Lauren and Sean, much loved son of Mary and Alan, loving brother of Christine and Malcolm and a dear son-in-law, brother-in-law and uncle. Friends please meet for service in St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Langley Moor on Thursday, May 11 at 10.45 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Friends welcome for refreshments at The Honest Lawyer afterwards. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu may be given after the service for St. Cuthbert's Hospice.


LONSDALE - May 10 (peacefully, at home), of Grey Ridges, Brandon. Brian, aged 71 years, beloved husband of Margaret and a dearly loved dad, grandad and great-grandad. Mary, aged 82 years, devoted wife of the late Tom, a beloved mam of Mary, Brenda and Pamela, dear mother-in-law to Stephen, Reg and Billy, a much loved and loving gran and great-gran, also a dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Cortege to leave her daughter's residence in St. Helens at 10.50 a.m., on Thursday, May 18 for service in St. Helen's Church at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in West Auckland Cemetery. Will friends please meet at church.

Robert (Bob), aged 96 years, of Darlington (formerly of Locomotive Street, Springfield) dearly beloved son of the late William and Maude Elizabeth, brother of the late William (Bill) and Maude Elizabeth, beloved uncle of Anita and David, Janet and John, also a very dear friend of Ruth Holmes. Funeral Friday, May 12. Would friends please meet for service at Darlington Crematorium at 11.15 a.m., prior to cremation. Evelyn (Eva, nee Humphries), a loving mother and friend of Dorothy and Margaret, mother-in-law to Ray and Greg and a much loved grandmother of Frank, David, Raymond, Peter and Ruth, special granny to Rosie, Kimberley, Jack, Katy, Grace, Isaac and Joe. Founder member and President of Wheatley Hill Mother's Club. Breath of fresh air and a shining light. An inspiration to all who knew her. Goodnight and God Bless. Isabel, a much loved wife of Brian, a devoted mam, dear mother-in-law and a cherished grandma. Cortege to leave residence on Wednesday for service at the Church of the Ascension, Easington Colliery at 11.00 a.m., prior to an interment at Easington Colliery Cemetery. RAINE - Rhoda, of Whitwell Acres, Durham City, formerly of Esh Winning. Died suddenly on May 4 at University Hospital, Durham, aged 94 years. Beloved wife of the late Thomas William and greatly loved mother of Colin, Brian and Norman, grandmother to Stephen, Philip, Catherine and Johanna and great-grandmother to Nathan and Maddie. Funeral service at Acton Road Methodist Church, Esh Winning on Tuesday, May 16 at 12.30 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium at 1.30 p.m. Friends are warmly invited to a reception with the family afterwards, at Mount Oswald Manor.
