William James (Don), aged 75 years, of Devonshire Road, Darlington, a dear husband of the late Flora, a loving dad of Neil and his partner Susan, also a special friend to Simon and Matthew and a very dear friend to Stan. Funeral to take place on Wednesday, May 10. Would friends please meet for service 3.45 pm at Darlington Crematorium.


ATCHISON - April 29, late of Inglesgarth Court, Spennymoor. Doris, aged 97 years, a dearly loved aunt and great-aunt. Would friends please meet at Durham Crematorium Friday for a service and committal at 1.30 p.m.


BATEMAN - May 3 (suddenly, in hospital), of Dickenson Street, Darlington. Kathleen, aged 76 years, dearly loved wife of Stan, loving mam of Lynn, Gary and Diane, dearly loved mother-in-law of Barbara and Ian, adored grandma of Michelle, Lucy, Dean, Nichola and Luke, loving sister of Peter, Audrey, Barbara and the late Norah, also a dearly loved sister-in-law and aunt. Funeral Thursday, May 11. Would friends please meet 2.45 p.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please.


BATTY - On May 2 (peacefully in the Friary Hospital, Richmond), of Croft House, Gunnerside. Margaret, aged 79 years, dearly loved wife of the late Anthony, very dear mother of John, much loved mother-in-law of Jean and loving grandma of Caroline and Kevin. Funeral service and interment to be held at Gunnerside Methodist Chapel on Saturday, May 6 at 1.30 p.m. Family flowers only please, however donations in memory of Margaret, if so desired, may be given at the service for the Chapel and Gunnerside Village Hall. BELL - William Alfred, of Market Deeping, passed away peacefully at home on April 26, aged 85 years. Beloved husband of Nellie, much loved father of Christine and John and a dearly loved grandad and great-grandad. A Service of Thanksgiving will be held at The Deepings Methodist Church on Friday, May 5 at 4.00 p.m., following a cremation at Peterborough at 3.00 p.m. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired for Sue Ryder Care Thorpe Hall and The Primary Health Care Team at Deepings Practice may be sent c.o R.J. Scholes, 4 Horse-gate, Deepings St James, Peterborough PE6 8EN.


BERRY - May 3, of Easby, Richmond, formerly of Sowerby, Thirsk. Margaret, aged 56 years, beloved wife of Graham, loving mother of Rachel and Helen. Family service only, followed by a Service of Remembrance at Sowerby Methodist Church on Wednesday, May 10 at 12.00 noon. Would friends please meet at the church.


BOWRON - Edna, wife of the late Ray, died peacefully at her son's residence with her family by her side, May 1, 2006. Devoted mother to David, mother-in-law to Kath and wonderful grandma to Fred and a dedicated niece to Elsie, a lovely second mam to Lynne and a wise true friend to many, who will be greatly missed. Would friends please meet for funeral service at St. Mary's Parish Church, Barnard Castle on Monday May 8 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be given in church to Children's Charities.


BRIGHT - John May 1, 2006, peacefully, after a long illness bravely borne. John aged 83 years, loving husband of the late Marjorie, much loved father of Tim and Andrew, father-in-law to Sheila and Amanda, devoted grandfather of Victoria, James and William. Funeral service to be held Tuesday May 9 in the Chapel of St Bede, Teesside Crematorium at 11.00 a.m. Family flowers only please. Refreshments after the funeral service at Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Club, Ladgate Lane, Middlesbrough.

Beloved husband of the late Jean, a much loved dad of Denise and Gail and son-in-law Dean and also grandsons Karl and Brad. Isabella (Ella), aged 70 years, beloved wife of Keith, devoted mam of Angela, dear mother-in-law to David, much loved and loving nana to William and Emma, also a dear daughter-in-law to Zena. Will friends please meet for service in Willington Methodist Church at 1.10 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu may be given for Chapel Funds. After the service all are invited for refreshments in Hunwick Community Centre.

Ernie, aged 91 years, beloved husband of the late Amy, dearly loved father of Alison and father-in-law of Robert, a much loved grandad and great-grandad and a special uncle. CUNLIFFE - On April 30, in hospital, of 13 Canterbury Road, Newton Hall, Durham. Marilyn, aged 55 years, devoted wife of Raymond, also a much loved sister and aunty. Friends please meet for Requiem Mass at St. Bede's R.C. Church, Newton Hall on Friday, May 5 at 12.30 p.m., interment to follow in South Road Cemetery and afterwards all welcome to St. Bede's Church Hall.


CURL - May 1, of Bishop Auckland. Elsie May, beloved wife of the late Roland, devoted mam of Thomas and Kevin, a loving nana to Antony and Suzanne, also a dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt.
