COATES - Esh Peacefully in hospital, on April 24, aged 63 years. Doreen, the devoted wife of John. Doreen will be sadly missed by all her loving family and friends. Friends please meet St. Michael's Church, Esh on Tuesday, May 2 at 1.15 p.m. for service prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium.


COWIE - April 24, 2006, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. William, aged 75 years, treasured husband of Edith, devoted dad to Neil and Stuart, dearly loved stepdad of Elizabeth and Peter, also a sadly missed father-in-law and grandad. Cherished and loved by all. Funeral Wednesday, May 3, 2006. Would friends please meet 2.45 p.m. for service at St. Andrew's Church, Darlington, followed by private cremation.

John, aged 86 years, of Kirklington (retired Land Agent and Farmer), beloved husband of the late Muriel, loved father of Jonathan, Neil and Liz, also dear father-in-law and grandad. Funeral service and interment to be held at St. Michael's Church, Kirklington on Saturday, April 29 at 1.00 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to be shared between St. Michael's Church and the British Heart Foundation.


CROW - April 27 (suddenly), of Ash Grove, Spennymoor. Barbara (Ena, nee Hodgson), aged 65 years, beloved wife of Kenneth, a dearly loved mam, mother-in-law and a much loved gran and great-gran. Would friends please meet at Durham Crematorium Wednesday for a service and committal at 11.00 a.m.


DENHAM - April 24 (peacefully, in Crosshill Nursing Home), of Chapel Street, Stanhope. Ada, aged 86 years, beloved daughter of the late Norman and a dear sister of Gladys May Emerson. Friends please meet for service in St. Thomas Church, Stanhope on Tuesday, May 2 at 2.00 p.m. followed by interment in Crosshill Cemetery. Rest in Peace


DIXON - April 15, peacefully in hospital. Dougie, aged 76 years, of Canterbury Grove, Darlington. A dearly loved husband of the late Lorna, also a loving dad of Neal. Funeral Thursday, April 27. Would friends please meet 9.45 a.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium.


DODDS - Peacefully on April 27, 2006, whilst living with his son in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire. Noel Read, aged 91 years, late of Fishburn, last surviving member of the Bishop Auckland F.C. 1935 amateur club winning team. Beloved husband of the late Peggy, loving father of Bill and Julie (daughter-in-law), much loved granddad of Peter, Anna and Sophie. The funeral service will take place at St. Peter's Church, Sharnbrook on Friday, May 5 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment within the churchyard. Enquiries to A. DOUGLASS - Dennis Henry Died April 20, in Boston, Lincolnshire, (formerly of Pickhill and Northallerton). Husband of Bredna, son of the late Doris and Harry and brother of Christine. Sadly missed by all.


DRAYCOTT - Maureen April 27 (peacefully, after a very long illness). Maureen, aged 71 years, of Fishburn. Dearly loved wife and best friend of Bert, loving mam of Lesley and Gordon, mother-in-law of Jean and Fred, also a special grandma of Alex and Lucy. Funeral service to take place in St. Catherine's Church, Fishburn on Thursday May 4, at 10.00 a.m. prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium. Friends please meet at church. FAIRWEATHER - April 24 (suddenly), of School Garth, Sowerby, Thirsk. Dorothy, aged 85 years, beloved wife of the late William. The funeral service will be held at St. Oswald's Church, Sowerby on Wednesday, May 3 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment.


FLETCHER - Martha, aged 78 years, of Coronation Gardens, Staindrop, died suddenly at home on April 23. Beloved wife of the late Ernie, much loved mam of Jimmy and Jean, dear mother-in-law to Anita and Harry, loving nanna of Joanne, Richard, Christopher and Helen and great-nanna of Darryl and Kelsey. Funeral service at St. Mary's Church, Staindrop on Tuesday, May 2 at 1.45 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington. Friends please meet at the church.


FOSTER - April 26, of North Bitchburn. Pearl (nee Chambers), aged 76 years, beloved wife of Maurice, devoted mam of Morris, Susan and Lynn, a dear mother-in-law, much loved and loving nana and great-gran, also a dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt who will be greatly missed by Jerri, her faithful dog. Will friends please meet for service in Crook St. Andrew's Methodist Church at 10.30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, followed by interment at Howden-le-Wear. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu may be given to Cancer Research.

Hazel (nee Fearn), aged 92 years, beloved wife of the late Norman, dearly loved mother of Norman Christopher, dearest mother-in-law of Mary and also a much loved grandma. Will friends please meet for service at the Holy Trinity Church, West Cornforth on Tuesday, May 2 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in the churchyard.

Comfort (Joey), aged 80 years, of Colville Crescent, Colburn, a dearly loved wife of Wilfred, a much loved mum of Jean, Bill, Rachel, Sylvia, Barbara and Josey, a dear mother-in-law, also a treasured nanna and great-nanna. Funeral Thursday, April 27. Would friends please meet 3.15 p.m. for service in St. Cuthbert's Church, Colburn, prior to private burial.


GIBSON - April 23, of North Bitchburn. Frank, aged 55 years, beloved husband of Barbara (nee Coates), devoted dad of Dean, also dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, son-in-law and cousin. Will friends please meet for service in Howden-le-Wear Methodist Church at 1.30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, followed by interment in Howden-le-Wear Cemetery. Flowers may be sent or, if preferred, a donation for the Lung Foundation can be left in church.

Joe, aged 81 years, dearly beloved husband of Gladys, much loved father of Angela, Alan and Belinda, also a dear father-in-law, grandad and great-grandad. Funeral service to be held at Northallerton Methodist Church at 2.00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, followed by cremation at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations may be given in lieu to the Herriot Hospice. All friends welcome at church.


GOYNS - Herbert On April 18, (peacefully, in hospital), aged 81 years. Beloved husband of Edith (nee Orton), father of Malcolm, Val and Jennifer, father-in-law of Paul and Erna, brother-in-law of Jim, Joan and Betty, loving grandad of Jocasta, Pia, Kate and Scott. Friends please meet for service on Friday April 28, at The Chapel of St. Bede, Teesside Crematorium at 11.30 a.m. Family flowers only please.
