STOKER - On March 21, peacefully in the village Nursing Home, Murton, of Easington Colliery. Freda, aged 86 years, a beloved wife of the late Bill and a much loved mam, also dear mother-in-law and a devoted gran and great-gran. Cortege to leave residence on Thursday for service at the Church of the Ascension, Easington Colliery at 11.00 a.m., prior to a cremation at Sunderland Crematorium. Friends are kindly invited, please meet at the church. Deeply missed


STOREY - Shirley Marjorie (nee Ritchie), 39 years, died suddenly on March 14, 2006, beloved wife of Andrew, dearest daughter of Edward and Constance, loving sister of Edward and Graham, also a special auntie. Will friends please meet for service in Bishop Auckland Methodist Church at 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, followed by interment in Witton Park Cemetery.


STUBBS - Robert Henry Died peacefully on March 23, in hospital. Bob, aged 81 years, of Thirsk, a loving brother and uncle. A private family funeral will be held at Darlington Crematorium.


SWINTON - On Sunday, March 26, the Earl of Swinton DL, beloved husband of Susan, Countess of Swinton Baroness Masham of Ilton, father of Clare and John died in Yorkshire after a long and courageous battle with several illnesses. Funeral service at St. Mary's Church, Masham, North Yorkshire at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday, April 6. Flowers to Peter Dean, Jenead, Azerley Lane, Galphay, Ripon HG4 3NJ. Memorial Service in London to be announced.


TEASDALE - On March 27, peacefully in hospital, of Crossgate Moor. Marjorie (nee Bell), aged 86 years, dearly beloved wife of the late Joseph Leslie, a much loved mam, a dear mother-in-law, also a devoted gran and great-gran. Friends please meet at Durham Crematorium on Tuesday, April 4 for service and cremation at 10.00 a.m. Will be sadly missed


TEMPEST - March 29, of Bede Terrace, Bowburn (formerly of Seaham). Valerie (nee Thompson), aged 62 years, a dearly loved mam of Trevor and Neil, loving mother-in-law of Margaret, a much loved gran of Kimberley and Kelsey, a dear sister of Joe and Trev, sister-in-law of Anne and Judith, aunt of Patricia, Joanne, Kathryn, Philip and David, beloved partner of the late Andy and a good friend of Joe. Would friends please meet in Bowburn Methodist Church Wednesday for a service at 1.45 p.m., followed by committal at Durham Crema torium.


THOMPSON - March 27 (peacefully, in hospital), of Willington. Mary, aged 82 years, much loved wife of the late Robert, dear mother of Keith and the late Paul, also a dear nana of Laura. Would friends please meet for service in St. Stephen's Church, Willington at 12.15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, followed by cremation at Durham.


THOMPSON - March 27 (suddenly), in Lothian House, Spennymoor, (formerly of Newton Aycliffe). Norma, aged 74 years. Loving mother of Christine, Neville and partner Sue and the late Trevor, also a loving mother-in-law of Carole and a much loved nana of Peter, Nicola, Jack and Emma. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday April 5, 10.15 a.m. at St. Elizabeths' Church, Woodham, prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if so desired may be made to Sedgefield Locality Carers Centre, Suite 3, Avenue House, Greenwell Road, Newton Aycliffe. DL5 4DH.


WADE - On March 27, peacefully in hospital, of Newton Hall. Lily, aged 70 years, dearly beloved wife of the late Clifford, much loved mam of Stephen and Helen, a dear mother-in-law of Martin, a devoted grandma of Craig, Stewart and Emma, also a loving sister of Peter. Friends please meet at Durham Crematorium on Tuesday, April 4 for service and cremation at 12.00 noon. By request, family flowers only.


WALLACE - Cyril, aged 88 years, of Woodland, died peacefully in hospital on March 26. Beloved husband of Maggie, dad of Peter and Carolynne and much loved grandad of Katey and Anna. Funeral service at Woodland Methodist Chapel on Friday, March 31 at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment in the Cemetery. Friends please meet at the Chapel. Family flowers only please, if desired donations may be given on the plate provided in the Chapel for Woodland Chapel Funds.


WEIGHELL - James Brian, aged 73 years, of Easingwold, (late of Hutton Sessay) died March 24, peacefully in York Hospital, after a long illness. Dearly loved husband of Jean, much loved dad of Geoffrey and Janet and dear grandad of Simon and Tim. Service and cremation at York Crematorium on Monday, April 3 at 10.30 a.m. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to York I.C.U.


WOOD - March 28, of Bainbridge Avenue, Willington. George, aged 80 years, beloved husband of Elizabeth, loving father of Janet and Christine, a dear father-in-law of Roger and Ian, also a devoted granda and great-granda. Friends please meet for service at St. Stephen's Church, Willington on Tuesday, April 4 at 1.45 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham.


WOODHOUSE - Elizabeth Anne (Betty), aged 79 years, formerly of Priory Villas, Richmond, died peacefully in her sleep at Benkhill Lodge, Bedale on March 29 after a long illness. Dearly loved wife of Bill, much loved mum to Jill and son-in-law Bill, devoted and loving granny to David (and Cara), Wendy (and Dave). Funeral service at Richmond Methodist Church on Wednesday, April 5 at 2.00 p.m., followed by private cremation. Friends please meet at the Church. Family flowers only please, if desired, donations may be given on the plate provided in the Church for the British Heart Foundation and Richmond Methodist Church Funds.


WRIGHT - March 27 (peacefully), of Milburn Street, Crook. Joe aged 61 years, dearly loved husband of Linda, a dearest father, father-in-law and grandad, also a dear brother. Cremation Tuesday, April 4 at Durham. Cortege leaving residence at 2.20 pm for a service in St. Catherine's Church, Crook at 2.30 p.m. Friends please meet at Church. Will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.


ALTON - Michael, formerly of Thirlby, North York-shire, passed away peacefully at Sharow, on February 28, aged 90 years. Fondly remembered and sadly missed by all family and friends. Will friends please meet for Requiem Mass in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Bishop Auckland at 1.00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, followed by interment at Witton Park. Surrounded by her loving family.
