Rita Marian, aged 65 years, beloved wife of Colin, dearly loved mother of Julie and the late Steven, much loved mother-in-law of Steve and Anne, a very special nana of Liam and Daniel and a very dear daughter-in-law and sister. Funeral service at St. Gregory's Church, Bedale on Saturday, February 25 at 10.00 a.m., followed by interment at Bedale Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to be shared between Church Funds, the Romanby Ward at the Friarage Hospital and the Multiple Sclerosis Society (plate in church). Friends please meet at the church.


MADDEN - Thorncliffe House, (formerly of Newton Aycliffe). Peacefully on February 20, 2006, aged 89 years. Elizabeth (Betty), beloved wife of the late William, dearly loved mother of Pauline and Joyce. Will friends please meet for a service in Sunderland Crematorium on Friday February 24, at 12.00 noon. Ethel, aged 80 years, much loved wife of the late Jim, a dear mam of Jim, Bill and Mary, also a dear mother-in-law, nan and great-nan. Would friends please meet for service in Ferryhill Methodist Church at 2.45 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, followed by cremation at Durham.


MANION - February 22, of Belmont. James, aged 85 years. Beloved husband of the late Lily, devoted father, father-in-law and grandfather. Friends please meet at St. Joseph's R.C. Church Gilesgate on Tuesday February 28 for service at 11.00 a.m. followed by interment in Belmont Cemetery.

McSHANE - Sharon (nee Raine) Died tragically on January 26, 2006, aged 43 years, of Redhall, Darlington. Treasured mother of Gareth and Dean, daughter of Margery and the late Jack, treasured sister of Lesley, also a dear niece, cousin and friend. She will be sadly missed by all the people whose lives she touched. Funeral Monday, February 27. Friends please meet for service in St. Andrew's Church, Haughton at 2.15 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington Crematorium. David, aged 66 years, devoted husband of Lorna, treasured dad of Julian and Christian, special father-in-law of Michelle and Sarah, loved grandad of Jennifer and also a much loved brother of Marjorie Birtle. Service to take place in St. Mary Magdalene Church, Yarm on Friday, February 24 at 3.00 p.m., followed by burial within Yarm Cemetery at 3.30 p.m. Would friends please meet at Church. Ethel (nee Brudenell), aged 91 years, devoted wife of the late Fred, beloved mam of Pat, dear mother-in-law to Stan, much loved gran of Paul and Lynne and Vicki and Lee, loving great-grandma to Katie and Kieran, dear sister of the late Winnie and Jimmy, also a good friend to many. Cortege to leave her daughter's residence at 9.20 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, for service in St. Andrew's Church at 9.30 a.m., followed by cremation in Durham Crematorium at 10.30 a.m. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu for the Arthritis Research Campaign may be given care of the family. Will friends please meet at the church.


MOTLER - Sylvia, aged 95 years, peacefully on February 20, at Nightingale Hall, Richmond (formerly of Leeming Lane, Catterick Village). Beloved wife of the late George, much loved mother of Pat, loving nana of Dawn and Jon and great-grandma to Cameron and Katy. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Tuesday, February 28 at 11.45 a.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium.


MURPHY - February 16 (peacefully in hospital), of Hackworth Close, Shildon. Peter, aged 81 years, loving husband of the late Nancy, dearest father of John and Ann and a dear father-in-law of David, a much loved grandfather of David, Stephen, Michael and Carys, a great-grandad to Jenna, also a dear brother to Monica. Cremation Friday, February 24 at Darlington, following a service in the crematorium chapel at 1.45 p.m. Friends please meet at the crematorium. R.I.P.

ORCHARD - Christine Patricia (Pat), aged 58 years, of Catterick Village, passed away suddenly on February 16. Dearly loved wife of Ken, very much loved mum of Gene, Tammy and Tina and adored nanny of Gracie (Munchkin). Dorothy, aged 71 years, beloved wife of the late Laurie, loving mam of Terrence, Pamela, Geoffrey and Yvonne, also a much loved nanna and great-grandma. Alec, aged 78 years, dearly loved husband of Olive, devoted father of Christopher, Nicholas and Helen and a much loved father-in-law and grandfather. Would friends please meet for service in St. Thomas' Church, Stanhope on Saturday, February 25 at 10.15 a.m., followed by interment in Crosshill Cemetery. Family flowers only please. PEWTON - February 21 (peacefully at home, after a long illness due to Parkinsons borne with courage and dignity), of Birchmere, Spennymoor. Sid, dearly loved husband of Edith and a much loved uncle of John and a very dear friend to many. RATCLIFFE - February 18, in Hallgarth Nursing Home, after a long illness patiently borne (formerly of Ushaw Moor and Durham). John, aged 86 years, beloved husband of the late Doreen, much loved father of Gwynn-eth, father-in-law of Eric and a devoted grandfather of Claire and Beth. Private cremation, prior to Service of Thanksgiving in Elvet Methodist Church on Monday, February 27 at 11.30 a.m. to which all are welcome. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Methodist Relief and Development Fund may be sent to N. Alderson Funeral Directors, Flass Terrace, Ushaw Moor, Durham DH7 7LD. David, aged 56 years, loving son of the late Elsie and Frank, loving brother of Barbara and brother-in-law to Allen, also a loving nephew and friend to many.
