HIND - Betty (nee Hodgson) February 6 (sadly, in hospital). Betty, aged 87 years. Betty will be very sadly missed by all her family and friends. Service and cremation to take place on Monday, February 13 in the Chapel of St. Hilda, Teesside Crematorium at 11.15 a.m. Would friends please meet at the Crematorium Chapel. Floral tributes (sprays preferred), if desired, to the Co-operative Funeral Service, memorial house, 398 Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough. Tel (01642) 828301.


HIRD - Marjorie (Madge), aged 84 years, of Moor Road, Melsonby, died peacefully at the Friary Hospital, Richmond on February 4. Dearly loved wife of Gilbert and much loved mother of Brian. Funeral service at St James' Church, Melsonby on Friday, February 10 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment in the Cemetery. Friends please meet at the Church. Family flowers only please, if desired, donations may be given on the plate provided in the Church for the Victoria Ward, Friary Hospital and Melsonby Church Funds.


HUGHES - February 7 (suddenly, at home). Christina Fleming (nee Anderson), aged 78 years, beloved wife of the late Thomas William loving mam of Richard and Catherine, mother-in-law to Sheila and will be sadly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Monday, February 13 at 2.00 p.m.


HURN - January 30 (peacefully in hospital), of Cherry Garth, Thirsk. Ruby, aged 69 years, dearly loved daughter of the late Audrey and Albert, loving sister of Barbara, Judy, Sheila and Jennifer, a dear aunt and great-aunt. The funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Church, Thirsk on Tuesday, February 7 at 2.00 p.m., followed by interment.


JACKSON - January 30 (peacefully at home), of Coronation Terrace, West Cornforth. Albereda (Mot) nee Barras, aged 77 years, beloved wife of the late George Robert (Geordy), loving mother of Fred, Tom and Albereda, a dear mother-in-law and devoted granny of Robert, Victoria and Rebecca and great-granny of Andrew, Rebecca and Nataila, also a dear grandmother-in-law to Shaun and Andy. Cortege leaving above residence on Wednesday, February 8 at 1.00 p.m. for a service in St. Anne's Church, Bishop Auckland at 1.30 p.m., followed by interment in Bishop Auckland Cemetery.


JOHNSON - February 4 (peacefully), of Darlington. James (Jim), aged 85 years, dear father of Priscilla, father-in-law of Ray, also grandad and great-grandad. Funeral Friday, February 10. Would friends please meet for service 2.45 p.m. at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please, by request.


JOHNSON - Sandra (nee White-house), aged 43 years, of Melsonby, peacefully at home on February 2, after a short illness borne with great strength, courage and dignity. Dearly loved wife of Stephen and a much loved and devoted mum to Daniel and Lucy, much loved daughter of Ken and Nance, sister to Michael and Graeme, loving sister-in-law of Nickkie, Janet and Sean and devoted aunt to Jai, Kieran, Jarrad and Curtis. Will be sadly missed by all family and friends. Funeral service at St. James' Church, Melsonby on Thursday, February 9 at 1.30 p.m., followed by private interment. Friends please meet at the church. Donations in lieu may be given after the service for St. Edmund's Church.


JOPLIN - February 9 (peacefully in hospital), formerly of Hundens Lane, Darlington. Albert, aged 96 years, beloved husband of the late Julie, loving dad to Alan and much loved father-in-law to Ann. Grace (nee Spence), aged 74 years, beloved wife of Tommy, a dearly loved mam of Sharon, dear mother-in-law of Martin and a loving and much loved nana to Paul and Alex. Would friends please meet in St. Charles' R.C. Church, Tudhoe Village Friday for a service at 1.45 p.m., followed by committal at Durham Crematorium. Family flowers only. Andrew Stephen, aged 77 years, devoted husband of Sylvia (nee Kidd), much loved dad of Sylvia, Maureen and Stephen, father-in-law of Edwin, Philip and Diane and a loving granda to Richard, Caroline, Sarah, Andrew, Christina, Jonathon and William. Friends please meet for service in Sherburn House Church on Wednesday, February 15 at 11.45 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. No flowers by request. Will friends please meet for service at 11.30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15 at Durham Crematorium Chapel.

Ron (Paddy), aged 64 years, beloved husband of Pauline, much loved dad of Steven, loving father-in-law of Tammi and a dear brother-in-law and uncle. Will friends please meet for service at St. Luke's Church, Ferryhill on Friday, February 10 at 9.45 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham.

Edna, aged 86 years, devoted wife of the late Thomas William, loving mother of Tommy and Graham, dear mother-in-law of Maureen, also grandmother and great-grandmother. MARRIOTT - Susan (nee Goldsmith), aged 79 years, died peacefully in hospital on February 4, 2006. Devoted wife of the late Bill Marriott, adored mother of Alan and Susan, cherished mother-in-law of Carol and Ian, also a precious nana of Mark, Alan, Adam, Ash and Kay. A celebration of life will take place at Durham Crematorium on Monday, February 13 at 10.30 am. Friends please meet at the Crema torium. What is to cease breathing but to free the breath from it's restless tides; That it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered.
