WITHERS Clarence James (Clarry), aged 87 years, suddenly at home in Low Etherley on August 3. Dearly loved husband of Nancy, much loved dad of Julia, Fred and Bert, dear father-in-law of Des, Christine and Carrie and a loving grandad and great-grandad. Funeral service in St. Cuthbert's Church, Etherley on Monday, August 11 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in the cemetery. Family flowers only. BATTY Jennifer August 7, at Ayresome Court Nursing Home, where she was cared for with the utmost love and tenderness. Jennifer, of Skelton Green and Yarm, dearly loved elder daughter of Paddy and Allen, sister to Sheila, Max and of the late, still longed for Jeffrey Allen. Funeral took place on Wednesday, August 13 at Teesside Crema-torium.

BENTON August 8, peacefully. Elsie Emily, aged 94 years, of Winslow House Residential Home, Nailsworth, Glos., formerly of Bedale, North Yorkshire. A much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose wonderful life will be sadly missed. Funeral service at Christchurch, Newmarket Road, Nailsworth on Monday, August 18 at 2.00 p.m., followed by private cremation. A service to remember Elsie will take place at Bedale Methodist Church at a later date. Family flowers only. BLENKIRON Lucy Margaret Dorothy, aged 97 years, formerly of Reeth and Greta Avenue, Richmond, died peacefully in her sleep on August 7, at Nightingale Hall, Richmond. Beloved wife of the late Henry Irwin (Harry), very dear and much loved mother of John, June and Irwin and a devoted mother-in-law, loving nana and great-nana. Funeral service took place at St. Andrew's Church, Grinton on Tuesday, August 12, followed by interment in the churchyard.
