MACLURE - December 27 (suddenly, in hospital), of 50 Quebec Street, Langley Park. Betty, aged 83 years, dearly loved wife of the late Edward and loving mother of Edward, Rod and Ian, also a loving grandma and great-grandma. Friends please meet for service at Durham Crematorium on Friday, January 6 at 2.00 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to St. Oswald's Hospice, Gos-forth.


MARWOOD - January 3 (peacefully, in Brentwood Lodge). John, aged 81 years, of Scotton, formerly of Kirby Hill, a much loved husband of Mavis, devoted dad of Ann and Ellen, father-in-law of Stephen, a loving grandad of Karen and Andrew, also a dear brother of Robert and Evelyn. Funeral Wednesday January 11. Would friends please meet 3.15 p.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please. A donation plate will be provided for Leukaemia at the Crematorium.


McKITTERICK - On December 29, peacefully at home, at 5 Bellerby Road, Leyburn. Erna, aged 58 years, beloved wife of Andy, much loved mother of Graham and the late Sven and a very dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Funeral service at St. Matthew's Church, Leyburn on Thursday, January 5 at 1.00 p.m., followed by interment at Leyburn Cemetery. Friends please meet at the church.


METCALFE - Freda Cicely, aged 88 years, formerly of Riddings, Thoralby and Askrigg, died peacefully at Maple Lodge Nursing Home, Scotton on December 27. Beloved daughter of the late George and Louisa Metcalfe. Funeral service at St. Andrew's Church, Aysgarth on Tuesday, January 10 at 11.00 a.m., followed by inter-ment. Friends please meet at the church.

MURGATROYD - Dennis Albert, in Pontefract General Infirmary (late of Bishop Auck-land), aged 77 years, much loved brother of Joyce, Allan and the late Les, a dear brother-in-law and uncle. Will be sadly missed. Funeral service will take place on Monday, January 9 at Pontefract Crematorium at 1.00 p.m.


MURRAY - (nee Smith) December 26 (suddenly, at Aycliffe Nursing Home). Evelyn, aged 87 years, loving wife of Jack, much loved mother of Marion, John, Heather and Alan, also a dear mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. Felix Edward (Phil), aged 73 years, a beloved husband of Margaret and also a loving brother, dad, grandad and great-grandad. A Requiem Mass will be held on Thursday, January 12, 1.00 p.m., at St. Mary's Church prior to interment in West Cemetery, Newton Aycliffe. Friends welcome, please meet at the church. It's a beautiful journey from the old world to the new, some day I'll make that journey just to be with you.
