Funeral service to be held at St. Gregory's Church, Bedale on Tuesday, October 24 at 1.00 p.m., followed by private cremation. Flowers may be sent or donations, if desired, for Cancer Research and Macmillan Nurses.


RAINE - October 18, (in hospital), of Brandon. Margie, aged 63 years. A loving mother, nanna and great-nanna and a good friend to all. Friends please meet for service at St. John's Church, Meadowfield on Wednesday October 25, at 12.45 p.m. Cremation to follow at Durham.


RANSON - October 13, suddenly at home, in Crook. Julia (nee Blakey), aged 61 years, loving mam of Beverley and Wayne, much loved nana of Aysha Marie, also a dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Will friends please meet for service in St. Catherine's Church, Crook at 12.00 noon on Wednesday, October 25, followed by interment in Crook Cemetery.


REED - October 12, suddenly, of Bishop Auckland. Paul, aged 50 years, beloved husband of Lynn, devoted dad of Richard and Joseph, a loving son of Joseph and Elsie, a much loved son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and a good friend of many. Will friends please meet for Requiem Mass in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Bishop Auckland at 11.45 a.m. on Friday, October 20, followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, may be left with the family or in church for C.A.F.O.D. R.I.P.


RIORDAN - Timothy (Tim), aged 80 years, peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on October 14, of Swaledale Avenue, Darlington. Much loved husband of Isabella, dearly loved dad of Michael, John, Eileen and Christine, dear father-in-law and a loving and devoted grandad. To be received into Holy Family Church Sunday, October 22 at 7.30 p.m. Requiem Mass Monday, October 23 at 12.00 noon, followed by interment. Would friends please meet at the church. ROBSON - Suddenly at home on October 16, of Meadowfield (formerly of Burnhope). Audrey, (nee Millner), aged 68 years. Dearly loved mam of Audrey and Jimmy, mother-in-law of David and a much loved gran of Trudi and Shannon. Friends please meet for service in St. Andrew's Methodist Church, Brandon on Thursday October 19, at 9.15 a.m. followed by interment in Meadowfield Cemetery.


SCULLION - David (Sub Postmaster, Norton). Suddenly, in hospital on October 15. David, loving husband of Catherine, much loved daddy of Rebecca and Victoria. Friends please meet for service at St. Mary's Church, Norton Green on Tuesday, October 24, at 2.30 p.m. prior to private cremation.


SHAW - Andrew, of 22 The Avenue, Fareham, Hampshire (formerly of Crook). Beloved son of Maura and Derek and best friend to Ian. He died peacefully in hospital on October 14, 2006, aged 43 years. Requiem Mass will be said in Our Lady Immaculate and St. Cuthbert's Church, Crook on Tuesday, October 24 at 10.30 a.m., followed by cremation. Will friends please meet at church. On whose soul sweet Jesus have mercy.


SHERWOOD - Elsie On October 19, peacefully at Beechwood Nursing Home, Northallerton. Elsie, aged 96 years, beloved wife of the late Jack, loved mam of Tony and Pat, also a dearly loved grandma to all her family. Funeral service to be held at Darlington Crematorium on Tuesday, October 24 at 11.15 a.m. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu may be given to the Dales School, plate provided at the service.


SILLENCE - Mary, aged 64 years, of Norman Road, Richmond, died suddenly at home on October 17. Dearly loved wife of Michael, much loved mum of Liz, dear mother-in-law to Chris and loving nana of Michael and Sarah. Ann, aged 64 years, dearly loved wife of Bill, loving mother of Martin and Claire and grandma to Tom and Millie and dearly loved and sadly missed by all her family and friends. Would friends please meet for service in St. Cuthbert's Church, Durham on Friday, October 20 at 12.45 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only please. SOULSBY - (Gilesgate) Suddenly, but peacefully in hospital on October 12, aged 62 years. Joyce, the devoted wife of Joseph, much loved mam of Stephen, Sharon and Joanne, a dear mother-in-law and also a loving gran of Laura, Alex, Alicia, Amy and Aaron. Joyce will be sadly missed by all her loving family and friends. Mona, aged 73 years, beloved wife of the late Alan and close friend of Sheila, Alan and family. Funeral Friday. TAYLOR - On October 15, after a long illness bravely borne, Suzanne, aged 34 years, of Cockfield. Beloved partner of Steven, much loved daughter of Julia and George, dearest stepdaughter of Keith and Lillian, a devoted granddaughter of Audrey and the late Harry and a dear friend of Jean, also a loving niece. Funeral service at Cockfield Methodist Church on Monday, October 23 at 1.00 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington Crematorium. Will friends please meet at the church. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be given on the plate provided in church for the Neuro Science Department, James Cook Hospital.


THOMPSON - October 11, (peacefully, in hospital after a long illness bravely borne), of Dean Street, Shildon. John, (Johnnie), aged 56 years, a dearly loved son of the late Margaret and the late Joseph, dearest brother to Judith and Barbara, also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and nephew. Will be sadly missed all who knew him. Interment Wednesday October 25, in Shildon Cemetery following a service in St. John's Church, Shildon at 12.00 noon. If preferred donations in lieu of flowers may be made to, The Butterwick Hospice. All are welcome afterwards for refreshments at Elm Road WMC, Shildon.


TWIDDY - October 17, suddenly at home, of Tow Law. Norman, aged 79 years, much loved husband of Mollie for over fifty years, dearest dad of Gordon and Suzanne and father-in-law of Ewa and Michael, devoted grandad to Katie, Adam and Ewan. Friends please meet for service in St. Philip and St. James Church, Tow Law on Tuesday, October 24 at 2.05 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham.


WAITE - (nee Barker) October 12 (suddenly, in hospital). (Doris) Dot, aged 72 years, of Cockerton, Darlington. Ever loving companion of Peter, a dearly loved mum of Janeen and Mark, a dear mother-in-law of Jane and Tant, adored grandma of Grace, beloved sister of Leslie and Maureen and the late Joyce, sister-in-law of Ernie, also a loving auntie to nieces and nephews, will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Funeral Monday October 23, would friends please meet 11.45 a.m. for service at Darlington Crematorium.


WALLACE - George Wilfred, aged 72 years, peacefully at home on October 19, of Willow Road, Darlington (ex Whessoe).
