Devoted husband of Brenda, much loved dad of Paul and Philip, dear father-in-law to Sharon, a much loved and loving granda to Lewis and Victoria, also stepgrandad of Maria. Will friends please meet for service in St. Andrew's Church, Bishop Auckland at 1.00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu may be given to Ward 5 at Bishop Auckland General Hospital.


SWAINSON - October 9, of Walden Terrace, Fishburn. Dorothy, aged 91 years. Beloved wife of the late James, loving mother of Dorothy, Michael and the late Cynthia, also a dear mother-in-law, grandma, great-grandma, aunt and much loved sister-in-law of Jean. Friends please meet for service at St. John Fisher R.C. Church, Sedgefield on Friday October 13, at 2.45 p.m. followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium at 3.30 p.m. Family flowers only please.


TALBOT - October 8, after a short illness. Michael Francis, aged 62 years, of Newton Aycliffe, formerly of Bishop Auckland. Beloved dad of Christopher and Karen, dear brother of Valerie and the late Kevin, also a dear uncle. Will friends please meet for service in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Bishop Auckland at 12.00 noon on Wednesday, October 18, followed by interment in South Church Cemetery. R.I.P.

Dorothy, wife of the late Harry, dearest mother of Richard, mother-in-law of Jane, grandmother of Wayne and Melissa and great-grandmother of Lewis and Mollie. Funeral service to be held at Romanby Methodist Church on Thursday, October 12 at 2.30 p.m. Family flowers only please, but donations in lieu can be given to Marie Curie Cancer Care and Herriot Hospice Homecare, plate provided at the service.


TERRY - October 8, peacefully at home, of Darlington. Dennis (Jack), aged 84 years, dearly loved husband of Mary and a much loved father and grandfather. Funeral Wednesday, October 18. Cortege to leave her daughter's residence at 1.00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12 for service in Durham Crematorium at 1.30 p.m. Will friends please meet at Durham.

Bette (nee Bell), aged 85 years, beloved wife of the late Fred, a dearly loved mam of Dorothy and Geoff, a loving mother-in-law to Ged and Gail and a much loved nana of Nikki, Andrew and Laura. Would friends please meet at Durham Crematorium Thursday for a service and committal at 11.00 a.m.


TURNER - October 4 (suddenly), of Crowtree Lane, Bowburn. Bill, aged 60 years, beloved husband of Patricia, a loving dad to Ian and Dean, father-in-law to Gillian and devoted grandad to Elliot. Would friends please meet for service at St. Mary's Church, Coxhoe on Thursday, October 12 at 12.15 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium.


WALTON - October 5, suddenly, at Hundens Lane, Darlington. Sidney, aged 78 years, brother of Harry, Robert, Fred and the late Joe, Jack, Helen, Edith and Emily. Funeral Thursday. Friends please meet for service at Darlington Crematorium at 10.45 a.m.


WARE - (formerly Vasey) On October 6, of Victoria Court, Ushaw Moor. Bessie, aged 84 years, beloved wife of the late Norman Vasey and Thomas Ware, loving mother of John and Margaret and a dear mother-in-law and nana. Friends please meet for service in St. Luke's Church on Wednesday, October 11 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in Ushaw Moor Cemetery. Friends welcome for refreshments at Victoria Court afterwards.


WELSH - October 5, formerly of Lansdowne Street, Darlington. Dorothy, aged 85 years, a much loved and loving mam of the late Eric, treasured grandma of Emily and Nicola, dearest sister of Margaret, also a very dear aunt. Will friends please meet for service in Darlington Crematorium at 11.45 a.m. on Friday, October 13.


WENNEN - October 6 (suddenly, but peacefully in hospital), of Northallerton. John, aged 77 years. Dearly loved husband of Hilda, loving father of Michael and Nichol and a dear father-in-law and grandad. Funeral service and cremation to take place at Darlington Crematorium on Tuesday October 17, at 2.15 p.m. Family flowers only. Donations if wished may be sent for The Coronary Care Ward at James Cook University Hospital.


WHALEY - On October 7 (of Darlington). John Robert, aged 80 years, loving brother of Lily and Kenny, also a much loved uncle. Funeral service will take place on Monday, October 16 at 10.15 a.m., at Darlington Crematorium. Friends welcome, please meet at the crematorium. Floral tributes may be sent to John Meynell Funeral Service, 150 North Road, Darlington.

Roland, aged 77 years, most dearly loved, loving and devoted husband of Jean, much loved and loving dad of Elizabeth, also a dear and respected father-in-law to Robin. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium at 3.30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17. Roland was well loved and respected, we have all lost a good friend and I have lost my 'rock'.


WOOD - Thomas Brian October 11, peacefully in hospital, of Cyclamen Grove, Darlington. Brian, aged 72 years, most precious and loved husband of Maureen (nee Hunter), loving dad of Tony, loving father-in-law of Janet, also loving grandad of Victoria and Kayleigh and a dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle and cousin. Requiem Mass in St. William's Church, Albert Hill on Tuesday, October 17 at 1.45 p.m., followed by private cremation. Family flowers only. May he Rest in Peace

AISLABIE - Ronald (Ron), aged 77 years, of Blackhall, formerly of Boldron, died peacefully in hospital on October 3, after a long illness borne with great courage and dignity. Much loved dad of Andrew, loving grandad of Rhys and Christie and a dear brother to Jim, Maurice and Mary. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Tuesday, October 10 at 2.15 p.m. Friends please meet at the Crematorium Chapel.
