Will friends please meet for service in The Valley Methodist Church, Eldon Lane at 2.00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, followed by interment in South Church Cemetery.


ROBINSON - May 28 (in hospital, surrounded by her loving family), of Hanover Close, Darlington. Elizabeth (Betty, nee Boal), aged 80 years, beloved wife of the late Gerard, a cherished mother of Bernard, Anne, Arthur, Christ-opher, Mary and Teresa, loving grandmother of Mark, Anton, Sam, Yasmin, JohnJames, Serena, Rachael and Max and a dear friend of many. Funeral Tuesday, June 13. Would friends kindly meet for Requiem Mass in St. Augustine's Church at 2.45 p.m., followed by cremation at Darlington Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations may be sent to Ward 44 and Coronary Care Unit, Darlington Memorial Hospital.


ROBSON - (nee Allison) June 1, of Shildon (formerly Eldon Lane). Doreen, aged 79 years, devoted wife of the late Harold, much loved mother of Alfred, Harold, Maureen and Mandy, mother-in-law to Biddy, Carol, Brian and Mick, a much loved and loving nana and great-nana, also a very dear sister and sister-in-law. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium Chapel at 3.30 p.m. on Friday, June 9, cremation to follow. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu may, if desired, be left for Hackworth House Nursing Home.

Audrey (nee Cumberland), aged 72 years, beloved wife of the late Ray, dearly loved mam of Avril and Kathryn, much loved mother-in-law of Paul and Geoff, cherished grandma of Steven and a dear sister of Bob. Would friends please meet for service at St. Aidan's Church, Chilton on Tuesday, June 13 at 10.15 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only. Donations if desired for the Marie Curie Nurses.

Dorothy, aged 78 years, beloved wife of John, much loved mother of Elizabeth, James and Kathleen, dearly loved mother-in-law of Michael Wilf and Louise and a devoted grandma of James, Alex, Rachael, Helen, Jack and Emelia. Friends please meet for service and cremation at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, June 9 at 10.15 a.m. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers for Cancer Research U.K and Macmillan Cancer Relief may be sent c/o John Wise Funeral Service, 16 Stainton, Barnard Castle, Co. Norman, aged 80 years, beloved husband of the late Freda, loved brother of Maurice and the late Harold, Joseph, John, Wilfrid and Leslie also a loving brother-in-law and uncle. Service to take place on Thursday, June 8 at Christ Church, Great Ayton at 2.15 pm, prior to cremation at Teesside Crematorium. Donations, if so desired, to the British Heart Foundation.


SEWELL - June 9, of West End Terrace, Willington. Olwyn (nee Oates), beloved wife of John, loving mother of Craig, devoted gran of Emma and Lee and great-gran to Brogan and Taylor. Friends please meet for service at St. Stephen's Church, Willington on Wednesday, June 14 at 1.45 p.m., followed by cremation at Durham. All are welcome for refreshments afterwards at The Kensington Hall Hotel, Willington.


SHARP - June 1, late of West Close, Shildon. Rita, aged 90 years, dearly loved mother of Ann, Thomas, Jeffery and the late Yvonne, mother-in-law to June, Daphne and Jim, much loved grandmother of Trudy, David and Emma, also a very dear great-grandmother of Kirsty, Amy, Alfie and Jake. Will friends please meet for service in St. John's Church, Shildon at 10.00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, cremation at Durham Crematorium to follow.


SMURTHWAITE - June 3 (peacefully, at home, after a long illness bravely borne). Barry, aged 69 years. Dearly loved husband of Ena, a much loved brother of Paddy, loving uncle, great-uncle and brother-in-law, also a much loved friend and cousin. Would friends please meet for service at Our Lady Immaculate and St. Cuthbert Church, Crook on Friday June 9, at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment in Crook Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations for The MARA Unit, Bishop Auckland General Hospital would be gratefully received after the service. Many thanks to all at The MARA Unit and all involved in Barry's care from Crook Surgery, the Health Centre, Deveroux Homecare, Marie Curie and Butterwick Hospice.


SPEIGHT - On June 2, peacefully at home, in Richmond, after a short illness bravely borne. Chris, aged 56 years, dearly loved husband of June, very dear dad of Jo and Sam, a loving grandad and son. Service to be held at Darlington Crematorium on Friday, June 9 at 2.15 p.m. Family flowers only please, however donations in memory of Chris, if so desired, may be given at the service for the Macmillan Nurses. All friends welcome.


SPENCE - June 3, 2006. Sam, aged 16 years, (passed away peacefully in James Cook Hospital following a tragic accident). Much loved son of Julie and step-son of Hardy, brother of Ben and Jamie, will also be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Will be held in our hearts forever and never be forgotten. Funeral Tuesday June 13. Would friends please meet 1.45 p.m. for service at Harrowgate Hill Methodist Church, Darlington followed by private cremation.

Joe, aged 75 years, beloved husband of Minn, dearly loved father of Joanne, a dear father-in-law of Jona-than, also devoted grandad of Mia.
