Winnie, aged 78 years, much loved mam of Billy, Marion, Jimmy, Jeff, Colin, Sue, Martin, Julie and Terry and a loving mother-in-law and nana. Funeral Wednesday, December 20. Friends please meet for service in Darlington Crematorium at 1.15 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, may be sent for Cancer Research UK, c/o Seaton Leng and Son Ltd., 59a Bondgate, Darlington, DL3 7JR.


NIXON - Hannah (nee Steel) (Station Town, formerly of Hartlepool). On December 10, suddenly at home. Ann, aged 59 years, wife of the late Arthur, much loved mam and best friend of Annmarie, dear mother-in-law of Ben, dear sister of Margaret, Marie, John and the late Rhoda, dear sister-in-law of Jill, Paul and Eddie, also a much loved auntie. Funeral service to be held on Thursday, in Strathmore House Chapel, Hartlepool at 2.20 p.m., prior to cremation in Stranton Grange, Hartlepool. Friends and neighbours are kindly invited. Please meet at Strathmore House.


O'DOWD - Peacefully on December 8. Bill, aged 72 years of Darlington, much loved uncle of Darren, Julie, Luke and Joe and special brother to all the family. Funeral Monday, December 18. Would friends please meet for service in Darlington Crematorium at 1.15 p.m.


OLIVER - December 12, suddenly. Dorothy, previously Wearmouth, of Bishop Auckland, aged 75 years, formerly of Rookhope. Devoted mother of Neil and Helen, a dear mother-in-law, much loved and loving grandmother of Hayley, Rebecca, Daniel and Alex, also a dear and beloved sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Will friends please meet for service in Auckland Park Methodist Church at 2.10 p.m. on Monday, December 18, followed by cremation at Durham.


ORMSTON - Allan, on December 11, peacefully at Sowerby House, aged 82 years, of Hutton Sessay, dearly loved brother of Maurice and Margaret, dear brother-in-law of Margaret and Brian, kind uncle to all his nephews and nieces. Funeral service and committal at St. Cuthbert's Church, Sessay on Monday, December 18 at 1.30 p.m. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired may be made to St. Cuthbert's Church Funds.


PALMER - On December 14, at Hallgarth Nursing Home (formerly of The Chains, Durham). James H. (Jim), aged 83 years, D-Day Veteran, beloved husband of the late Edith, dearly loved father of Anne, Jeffrey and Susan and a dear father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. Friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Thursday, December 21 at 9.30 a.m. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu may be given after the service for Hallgarth Nursing Home. Friends welcome for refreshments at his daughter's residence afterwards.


PEACOCK - Beatrice May (Beat) aged 84 years formerly of Middleham, Leyburn and Northallerton, died peacefully at her son's residence in Richmond on December 11. Beloved wife of the late George, dearest sister to Nancy, much loved mum of Paul and Tim, a dear mother-in-law and loving nana to Rachel, Lorraine and Sarah. Funeral service at Darlington Crematorium on Wednesday December 20 at 10.45 a.m. Friends please meet at the Crematorium Chapel. Family flowers only please, if desired donations may be given on the plate provided at the Crematorium for The League of Friends, Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.


PEACOCK - December 8, peacefully after a short illness. Robert William (Bobby), aged 68 years, of Woodside, Witton Park. Beloved husband of the late Ethel, devoted dad of Paul, David and Andrew, a dear stepdad and father-in-law, much loved and loving granda and great-granda, also a dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Will friends please meet for service in St. Paul's Church, Witton Park at 9.30 a.m. on Friday, December 15, followed by cremation at Durham. After the service in church, all are invited to the son's residence in Woodside for refreshment.


PIGDON - Margaret, aged 92 years of Richmond, died peacefully on December 13. Beloved wife of the late Tom, dear mother of Annette and Vivienne and loving grandmother to Andrew. Bob, aged 72 years, dearly loved husband of Pat and the late Iris, loving dad of Keith and Maureen, stepdad to Carole, Julie and Alan and grandad to Chris, Kieran, Calum and Hope and brother to Arthur. ROSE - Lena December 11, peacefully in Elderwood Residential Home, Darlington, very special mam of Audrey, Dorothy and Sheila, step-mum to Ivor and Keith, a dear mum-in-law, also a much loved nanna, great-nanna, great-great-nanna and a dear sister. Service at Darlington Crematorium on Monday, December 18 at 11.15 a.m. Re-united with those she loved.
