Catherine (Katy, nee Dawson), aged 84 years, a dearly beloved wife of the late Jan, a dearest mother, mother-in-law, gran and aunt. Private cremation on Thursday, November 1 at Durham, following a Requiem Mass in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Bishop Auckland at 10.15 a.m. Friends please meet at the Church. If so desired donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Butterwick Hospice, Bishop Auckland. Will be sadly missed R.I.P.

WRIGLEY - Rita On October 10, peacefully after a long illness. Rita (nee Ryles), aged 83 years, of Darlington, dearly loved wife of the late Charlie, much loved mum of Gordon and Jenny, mother-in-law of Sylvia and Dave, also a loving nana and great-nana. Will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Goodnight, God Bless. Funeral service and cremation to take place at Darlington Crematorium on Tuesday, October 30 at 10.45 a.m. Friends please meet at crematorium. Family flowers only please. Francis Edward (Ted), aged 84 years, of Fishburn, dearly loved husband of the late Doris, dear dad of George and John, father-in-law of Jennifer and Karen, dear grandad of Jill and also an uncle to Malcolm and Janice. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, October 18 at 2.45 p.m. in St. Catherine's Church, Fishburn, prior to cremation at Durham Crematorium. Friends and family please meet at church. ARMITAGE - October 13, peacefully in her sleep, of Tudhoe Village, Spennymoor. Mary (nee Sennett), aged 83 years, a dearly loved wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. Friends please meet for service and cremation at Durham Crematorium on Friday, October 19 at 11.00 a.m. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu for the British Heart Foundation may be given after the service. Friends welcome for refreshment at Mount Oswald Manor afterwards.

BARNES - Peacefully at Bannatyne Lodge Nursing Home, Peterlee, on October 12, 2007 (late of Shotton Colliery). Christopher Sidney (Sid) in his 98th year, beloved husband of Doris (nee Hewitt), a loving dad of Doris and Christina, also a loving father-in-law of Stan, devoted grandad of Carole, Judith, Paul and Ian, a much loved great-grandad of James, Matthew, Alexander, Catherine, William and Jennifer. Friends and family please meet for service at St. Cuthbert's Church, North Road, Durham on Monday, October 22 at 11.15 a.m., followed by cremation at Durham Crematorium.

BLIGHT - Audrey Catherine (nee Tate). On October 14, 2007, sadly in hospital in Manchester (formerly of Richmond). Audrey, aged 79 years, beloved wife of the late John, much loved mum of Jacqueline, dearly loved mother-in-law of John, also a dear sister and aunt. Floral tributes are welcome. Service and interment will take place at Richmond Cemetery on Thursday, October 25 at 1.00 p.m. Arrangements by Lansdowne Funeral Home, 157 Kenyon Lane, Moston, Manchester to whom all enquiries should be directed. BODENHAM - Elizabeth (Liz, nee Wood), aged 73 years, of Richmond, died peacefully in hospital on October 10. Beloved wife of the late Walter. Grace, aged 90 years, beloved wife of the late James, a dear mother of Gloria and Teresa, also grandmother to Alan and Helen and great-grandmother to Finley. Funeral Friday, October 19. Would friends please meet 10.45 a.m. for Mass in St. Augustine's R.C. Church, prior to interment in Darlington North Cemetery.

BRATT - Joan Marjorie (nee Chapman) Peacefully on October 16, Joan, aged 71 years, beloved mother of Colleen, Angelina and Mark, devoted nanna to Ashley, Gareth and Jordan. Funeral service and cremation to take place on Wednesday, October 24 in St. Hilda's Chapel, Teesside Crematorium at 11.45 a.m. Flowers and enquiries to Relph Funeral Home, 43 Kings Road, North Ormesby. Joseph (Joe), aged 65 years, devoted husband of Sandra, much loved dad of Tony, Barbara and Steven, father-in-law to Nichola, Kelvin and Charlotte, a treasured grandad of Joseph, Emily, Amelia and Daniel and sadly missed by all family and friends. The funeral will take place on Friday, October 19. Friends please meet for service at St. Paul's Church, Trimdon Colliery at 10.00 a.m., followed by interment in Trimdon Grange Cemetery.

CANNEY - Ian, of Morton on Swale, died peacefully at home on October 12, 2007. A loving husband of Sallie, also father of Deborah and Sarah, a grandad to Oliver, Cullum and Rohan. Funeral service will be held at St. Helen's Parish Church, Ainderby Steeple on Monday, October 22 at 12.10 p.m. Family flowers only please. CARR - (nee Witherspoon) Kay, passed away peacefully on October 14, at Sedgefield Community Hospital after a short illness. Love always, devoted fiancé Steve, daughter Debbie, son-in-law Pete and adored granddaughter Baba Neve. Sadly missed by her dogs, Char,lee and Sumrai. Cremation to take place at Durham Crematorium at 11.00 a.m., on Tuesday, October 23 followed by refreshments at Dene Mouth Caravan Park. Family flowers only please. CHALLENGER - October 10, (peacefully), in the loving care of staff at Portland House. Margaret, aged 94 years. Devoted wife of the late Ronald and a loved mam, mother-in-law, gran and great-gran. Cortege leaving Portland House, Willington for service at Lydia Street Methodist Chapel on Thursday October 18, at 1.10 p.m. followed by cremation at Durham. Family flowers only.

CHAPMAN - Arthur, aged 88 years, of North Green, Staindrop. It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur announce his death on October 12 after a happy and contented life. A much loved husband of the late Annie and the late Mary and a very special uncle, great-uncle, stepfather and brother-in-law. His kind contented nature and quirky sense of humour will be greatly missed. Funeral service at Staindrop Methodist Chapel on Thursday, October 18 at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment in the cemetery. Friends please meet at the chapel.

CLARK - October 16, peacefully in the Lambert Hospital, of Thirsk. Eric, aged 84 years, loving husband of the late Jane, dear father and grandad. Dearly loved by Charles and Dawn, Sue and Jim and his six grandchildren. Will friends please meet for service in St. Oswald's Church, Sowerby on Saturday, October 20 at 11.00 a.m. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu will be shared between Friends of the Lambert Hospital and the Normandy Veterans Association.

CONDON - October 16, of Bishop Auckland. Florence Margaret, aged 87 years, dearly loved mam of Margaret, June, Pamela, Frank and Ann, dear mother-in-law to John, Phillip, Betty, Thomas and the late Brian, mother figure to Stephen, a very much loved nanna and great-nanna Florrie, sister, aunt and loving friend of Christine. Will friends please meet for service in Durham Crematorium at 3.00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24.

COPESTAKE - On October 13, of Brookside, Witton Gilbert. Brian, aged 69 years, dearly loved husband of Margaret, also a dear father, grandfather and father-in-law. Friends please meet for service at St. Mary and St. Cuthbert's Church, Chester-le-Street on Tuesday, October 23 at 10.30 a.m. Private cremation to follow. All welcome afterwards to Chester-le-Street Masonic Hall. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to St. Cuthbert's Hospice, c/o Stuart Wright Funeral Service, Gilesgate, Durham.

DOCKRILL - Helen Peacefully in hospital on October 11. Helen (nee Hebblethwaite), aged 81 years, mother of Jennifer, Malcolm, Graham and Joy, a much loved grandmother and great-grandmother.
